CHAPTER 10

Temisa was at her father's mansion, a standard duplex in a government-owned estate that her father had purchased as a new home.

"Father, have you submitted my CV and application letter to the new boss?" Temisa asked as her father stepped into the living room. She was sitting on the long couch, filing and brushing her long nails.

Mr. John frowned at his daughter. Instead of standing up to welcome him, she sat comfortably, treating him like an errand boy. "Temisa, you're quite unbelievable; not even a welcome greeting for your father?" Mr. John asked as he dropped his briefcase on the living room's center table and slowly loosened his necktie.

"I'm sorry, father. Good evening, father. Welcome home," Temisa said, lowering her legs from the couch and setting aside her nail file.

"Where's your mother?" Mr. John asked.

"She went to the market to restock the house with food," Temisa replied.

"And your elder brother?"

"Father! I'm not their keeper. I don't know where Martin went; I didn't ask
