CHAPTER 124: In the village

Anita arrives at her maternal home in the evening. She heard before that her father also built and owned a house in the same village as her mother, but she doesn't know his house and doesn't want to go there either,.

She knows someone might recognize her there, or the bank people might come there to claim it as part of their payment. Worst of all, her father's brothers, who have been disturbing her father to marry another wife, might spot her there, and she doesn't have the keys with her either.

She drops down from the bike carefully in front of her late grandfather's house and pays the bike rider his fees, then drags her box along with her towards the house.

The house looks old and worn out, and she knows the family has abandoned it. Her mother's brother is rich, and she wonders why he doesn't renovate the village house either.

She walks to the front of the house, drops her box, and stares at the door, seeing that it is locked.
