Connor was well aware that the Nimbria Pack was in dire straits. They had lost their Luna, leader of warrior, and many other warriors in the battle against the Frostholm Pack. The number of severely wounded warriors was too great to count. However, this did not deter him from his desire for quick revenge.

The reason was simple. Connor was certain that the Frostholm Pack was in a similarly dire situation. Though they had won the war, they too had suffered great losses. So, he believed that just as he was intent on restoring the Nimbria Pack, Kendrick would do the same.

The recent battle had drained the energy and resources of both packs, leaving deep physical and mental scars. But here Connor saw an opportunity. He understood that in this state, both the Nimbria and Frostholm packs were vulnerable to a sudden attack.

Connor's intentions were not grand; he didn't plan to attack the entire Frostholm Pack. While he often acted recklessly and made decisions based on impulsive desires, this

Exactly six months ago. Ivan had received a phone call from the palace. He had to meet with Graham. There were important matters to discuss, and after it was over, when he wanted to go straight back to the warrior barracks, he met Ayla.Ivan greeted Ayla politely. They chatted casually, discussing a few pleasant things."So," Ayla said and nodded. Her expression showed understanding. "I also feel that..."Ayla's words stopped. Her body instantly froze. Her gaze became vacant.Ivan frowned, looking confused and worried. He asked, but Ayla did not answer. He was about to call someone."You're a lucky man, Ivan."Ivan's intention to leave was immediately stopped. He refrained from walking away and instead asked reflexively, "What did you say, Ayla?""I said you are a lucky man, Ivan," Ayla repeated with a smile. Her blank look had returned. "You have a wife who loves you very much, who is willing to do anything for you."Ivan froze. He paused, as if he needed time to process Ayla's words

The Frostholm Pack palace was in an uproar. Rowena's arrival and the information she brought with her caused panic. Although it seemed unbelievable, Ivan's safety was the priority. The Frostholm Pack couldn't stand idly by when the life of one of their most important pillars was at stake."Can you vouch for your information, Rowena?"Rowena nodded repeatedly. "I swear, Alpha. The Nimbria pack is going to kill Ivan. So, you must act quickly before it's too late."There were no more questions from Kendrick. Instead, he turned to Graham and gave the order. "Assemble the warriors immediately, Graham. Head to the west side of the Amerotha Forest at once.""Yes, Alpha."Graham hurried away. Gathering the best team he could, he set off for the western side of the Amerotha Forest with mixed emotions. On the one hand, Rowena's information seemed unbelievable. It was hard to believe that the Nimbria Pack would attack again after their recent defeat. On the other hand, he could sense a strong re

Unlike the days before, the sky that day seemed heavy, covered with thick, sluggish clouds, gray in color and moving slowly, as if holding something heavy inside. The sunlight, which often shone, seemed dim, barely able to penetrate the gaps between the reluctant clouds. The wind blew softly, carrying a chill that crept into every corner, enveloping everyone in an unusual silence. His breeze was no longer soothing. Instead, it carried a mournful sound that made the leaves rustle in mourning. In the distance, birds that usually flew around cheerfully singing seemed to be silent on the branches. Their wings were drooping. Their gazes were empty, directed nowhere.Everything was somber. Everything felt desolate. Even the little river flowing by could not hide its sad glow. Every ripple in the water was a harbinger of sorrow. It told the world of the deep loss they felt.Without exception. No one could withstand the onslaught of grief as the news spread throughout Frostholm territory. The

Marcus' demeanor seemed different. Connor could feel it; there was something stronger than mere bravery in Marcus' gaze. The confidence that radiated from Marcus seemed to confirm that he had thought his plan through thoroughly and meticulously."What is your plan?"Marcus said, "First, I must tell you, Alpha, that this plan will take time and patience, but I dare to guarantee that the results will be worth the sacrifices we make."Connor's curiosity was aroused. He became more and more impatient to know the details of Marcus' plan. "Tell me.""I suggest we switch to a more subtle strategy, Alpha. In my opinion, a direct and open attack is unwise given the formidable strength of the Frostholm Pack."Connor remained silent. He continued to listen to Marcus."The strategy I suggest is an internal attack, Alpha."Connor remained unmoved. "What do you mean?"Marcus took a moment to breathe before explaining his position. Connor's mind was restless. Days passed with a constant restlessness in his thoughts. He couldn't get the matter of Rowena's pregnancy out of his mind.Every day Connor waited for the latest news from Mariah. He often asked Marcus for updates on Mariah, but to no avail."Mariah has begun to move, Alpha, but she still hasn't been able to locate Rowena's whereabouts in the Amerotha forest," Marcus reported one morning, bracing himself for the outburst that might come from Connor. "It appears that Rowena has anticipated our movements, Alpha."Connor did not say anything, but his expression spoke volumes. Marcus' report was not what he had hoped for.Marcus went on, trying to calm Connor. "But don't worry, Alpha. Mariah will continue to monitor the Amerotha Forest. As soon as there's any information, no matter how small, she'll report it immediately."Connor's face hardened and faint wrinkles formed on his forehead. He shook his head slowly. "This is why I don't like dealing with witches.

Vione couldn't answer Jemma's words. Her heart was truly touched and she fell silent, only able to look at Usher, knowing that everything Jemma had said was the undeniable truth. Pregnancy was always a happy announcement. But Vione's pregnancy was more than joy; it was a blessing. For Usher, Jemma, Rowena and the Frostholm Pack, Vione's pregnancy was the greatest gift the Moon Goddess had given them. "Don't worry, she won't get lost. They're smart kids." "Usher," Vione groaned, pressing her lips together and raising her hand to point. "That's too—" Vione frowned. Something was holding her hand. Something was stroking the back of her hand, squeezing her fingers. "U-Usher." "Vione? Are you awake?" Usher's voice echoed in her head, like the buzzing of a thousand bees, driving that beautiful memory from her mind. It made her slightly dizzy and she moaned softly. "Vione? Can you hear my voice?" Vione frowned and slowly opened her eyes. She saw Usher's face, filled with immeasurable relief. "Usher." "Oh, thank God," Usher whispered, k

One thing Usher would remember for the rest of his life was that war never brought anything good. On the contrary, only bad things came out of war—death, pain, loss, suffering.
