Playing Tricks
Aaron glanced into the window by the door; nothing was moving inside. Looking through his IAC, Cadence could see rows of metal shelving with the occasional large crate or other shape in the middle. It looked exactly like what she’d expected, and she assumed there were Vampires in some of those crates, though she couldn’t be sure. About halfway down the length of the building, she saw a makeshift wall, and then on the other side, she knew there were hallways and offices. It was possible the Vampires might be back there as well. The upstairs was mostly shelves and storage.
Aaron gave a count over his IAC and then the two of them rammed their way into the door while the other team tore through on the other side and immediately ran up the nearby staircase. The door fell to the concrete floor in front of Cadence, and Aaron ran over it first, Glock in front of him. Cadence was right behind him.

Elliott pulled the SUV to a halt at the far end of a lengthy parking lot. “Okay, kids. Welcome to Walley World. Looks closed. Vampire fangs directly above her face, Cadence twisted her body as her hands came up to grab at Drew’s familiar face, though she was certain whoever this was, it wasn’t her friend. Aaron tried to relax but his shoulder still hurt like a son of a bitch, despite Martin’s ability to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. The pounding of her heavy boots rang off of the marble barricade as Cadence Findley sprinted down the promenade, leaping between ornate columns every few feet, careful with each jump to situate herself so that the landing hit on the narrow top of the only barrier between her and a nice fall to concrete several stories below. The Vampires in front of her were not being quite as cautious, but they were being smart; by sprinting away from her up here and not on the walkway itself, they were preventing her from firing her Glock.
