“So who’s in charge of all your guards?” I ask as Sebastain leads me down a trail through the woods. We had ended up leaving the twins with a couple guards and a maid, because he couldn’t get ahold of Alice. I close the door to the twin’s room quietly behind me after putting them down for the night. I stretch my ears out to listen if I could hear Sebastian in the house. The next couple of days I spent looking for a key to Killians prison. Despite the constant distractions Sebastian was throwing at me, I hadn’t forgotten why I had come back in the first place. Killian was my ex husband, my cheating one, but he had been manipulated and lied to just like I had, and I couldn’t just leave him locked up because he was an idiot who thought with the head in his pants instead of the one on his shoulders. I watched as Everly snuck through the basement exit, our children strapped to her back. She had come here tonight to try and rescue me, but didn’t have a way to unlock my prison. I was left to simmer in my own worried thoughts for the rest of the night after she’d left. I hoped she had gotten to Lucas okay, and that he would keep her away from Sebastain and his pack. I hadn’t given control over to my wolf in a really long time. She hadn’t even had a chance to stretch her legs in years, but now I was fully buried inside her mind, letting her call all the shots. I hadn't known what it felt like to be an animal on all fours in so long, it was honestly a little strange at this point.
