Mayeli pulled her hands away from Killian’s hold. “Let go of me!”She yelled, drawing a little stare their way.

He ignored her and continued walking until he reached his black Rolls-Royce Phantom.

When they reached, he let go of her hands, and turned to her, anger written on his face.

“What do you think you're doing?” He asked angrily.

“I should be asking you” that!” Mayeli retorted, equally angry. What the hell did he think he was doing when he dragged her out here?

“You shouldn't be going around giving random guys your number when you have a boyfriend”.

Mayeli rolled her eyes, surprised. Why did Killian care about who or not gotten her number?

“It's none of your business”, Mayeli mumbled.

“It's my business when it involves my brother!”

“What are you trying to be now, your brother's keeper?

Killian’s perfect features twisted into a frown, and he looked like he was about to give her an angry rebuff when his ringing phone interrupted him.

He gave Mayeli a last glare before he t

Mayeli smiled as he followed her to the hotel room they had just booked. It had been easier than she thought. It hurt her slightly that he didn't remember her, but it made things easier, so it wasn't a problem. She had heard from her sources that he had an accident that cost his memory, years ago, but a bit of her had still hoped he would know her when he met her.She unlocked the door of the room, entered inside, and tossed her red channel purse on the table. She listened for his movement behind her as the door clicked shut, and the locks turned. His arms came to wrap around her waist from behind, pulling her into an embrace, while his lips teased the skin on her neck. For a moment was shocked at the comfort she still felt in his arms and then a shudder ran through her body as he trailed kisses on her neck. His words came back to her, words from a decade ago.“I'd love you forever Mayeli, until my last breath”.She moaned slightly as his hands came to rest on her breasts, squeezing m

“Mom, can I have some more gummy bears?” Bryelle, Mayeli's two-year-old daughter asked, batting her long lashes that perfectly complemented her lovely face.Bryelle was dazzlingly beautiful just like Mom and Dad, though she took her father's light blue eyes, his perfect lips, and his curly black hair. For age she was a smart, precarious child, always asking questions that left Mayeli stunned. She probably got that trait from both of her parents.“No baby, you've had too much already, let's get you to school”, Mayeli replied, standing up to grab her brown Louis Vuitton handbag. She was wearing a dark brown Everlane suit, with matching brown Steve Madden heels to complete the look. Her blonde hair was packed in a neat, low bun. As always, she looked perfect.“Mom, please”.“I'm sorry baby, let's get going. Uncle Nixen is going to pick me up from school today, cos I won't be back early and Grandma has somewhere to go”.She straightened her daughter's white short-sleeved shirt, neatly tuc

Killian peered at the neatly arranged stack of files on his large oak table, his pen in his mouth. His office was one of the best in England, with its transparent glass walls displaying a lovely view of the city. The walls of his office were painted a deep shade of green, matching perfectly with his white cushions, a large, dark-brown oak table, and a black office chair.A few paintings hung on the wall, while a large, glass shelf held neat stacks of his favourite books and his numerous trophies.Right now, he wasn't in the mood to admire the works of his decorators. His mind was on something more urgent.A construction worker had just sued Soter Group for the injury he had sustained while using their product and was demanding a million dollars as compensation.“Crazy”, Killian muttered angrily. From the look of things, the odds were against them, and the man seemed most likely to win the case. Plus, the fool had hired a well-known, ace lawyer.Killian had called the JCK firm to infor

Killian stared through Nixen's glass office walls at the beautiful lady with long blonde hair as she walked to her black 2023 Audi Q5, with a pretty little girl that looked almost exactly like her. He was certain she was the woman he had met at the Opera two years ago.He looked the way her Olive green suit complimented her glowing, pale skin. Her lovely blonde hair was packed in a neat ponytail, highlighting her heart-shaped face. His mind went to a night two years ago when he had held her body naked in his arms. He could still remember her exotic scent. He had only feigned ignorance earlier because she seemed very uncomfortable with his presence, and Nixen seemed to have something for her. He didn't want to cause any problems. But he wasn't sure he could keep to that when it came to her.How could he forget her? He had thought about her frequently in the past two years. He tracked her down and waited patiently for the right time to meet her. But he never found her. And after all th

Mayeli stared at the surprised face of Killian. Had he not expected her to come? She had purposely kept him waiting. He could keep up with that at least. She loved the way his eyes raked her body in a very sensual way, as though he was seeing her for the first time. She was wearing a little green, flowing evening gown, with the split coming to rest just above her thighs. On her feet were silver Zara heels and her hands held a matching silver Chanel purse. Her long carefully styled blonde hair fell in waves down to her waist. She had applied only a light make-up and put on a silver necklace with matching dangling silver earrings. In all, she looked stunning as always.“I…I umm, I didn't think you would come”, Killian managed to say after minutes of staring. She loved the way his not too overly simian black, LV shirt highlighted his perfect body, blending with his curly black hair that he had left to fall over his face, this evening. “You don't like the food?” Nixen's soft voice asked, breaking Mayeli from her deep thoughts. He was looking as stunning as always in a simple, expensive-looking, Navy-blue straight trousers and white shirt. His straight black hair was left to fall slightly on his face making him look more handsome. Three of his buttons were left undone, exposing his well-built tanned chest. He looked ravishingly hot!“I love it”, she replied, throwing him a quizzical look. Why had he asked? Her thoughts had been on the event of last night, and she had probably phased out without knowing. Tears burned her eyelids as she recalled the memory. Killian and she had made love so passionately, relishing each other's comfort, and for a moment, she thought they could probably work out. But he left without a note or a goodbye. He left her like a cheap whore. And still, she had stared at her iPhone 14 pro almost a thousand times today, waiting for a text from him. Mayeli and Diora walked through the noisy crowd. They had come to chill out after the day's work. It was finally the weekend, and at least, they could get a little break. They were in Mayeli's favourite bar to grab a drink, and most importantly, she wanted to her best friend Bryelle's father. She didn't want to joke about the unknown or Killian’s threat. They managed to find a seat in front of the young, handsome bartender who kept staring at Mayeli.“What can I offer the two beautiful women in front of me?” The young man asked with a smile.Diora ordered a glass of Brandy, while Mayeli ordered a whiskey. She needed all the courage she could get tonight. When the drinks came, Diora took a sip of her Brandy and turned to Mayeli. “What exactly did you want to tell me, Bess?”Mayeli took a deep and looked around the bar. It was filled with young blood, drinking, dancing, watching naked strippers on the dance floor, and having more fun.“I want to tell you who Bryelle’s father is”, Mayeli

Killian stared at the chubby smiling man dressed in a black, expensive-looking Channel suit that was a bit too tight due to his protruding belly. Killian thought he could probably see his reflection in the man's black Firenze Atelier shoes that were published to a fault.“What are you doing here?” Killian asked, irritated. He and Mayeli were meant to be having their weekly meetings, but he was seeing someone else in her place.“I'm James a senior partner at JCK law firm. I will be replacing Mayeli as your company's legal representative”, the chubby man fumbled, with a nervous smile.“Why?” Killian asked, returning his eyes to the document in front of him. Did Mayeli quit her job without informing him?He had looked forward to this particular day of the week when she came to discourse business with him. He missed her melodious laughter and the way her green eyes gleamed when she was being serious. Why would she quit? He couldn't let her.“Mr Nixen said he would speak to you about that”

Mayeli kicked her legs back and forth in the pool, enjoying the feel of the cold water on her bare legs.“Do you mind sharing your story then?” She asked Killian. He remained silent for a moment, and she thought he wouldn't reply.“Do you really want to hear my story, it's quite boring”, Killian replied, running his hands through his rough, curly hair. His eyes were focused on the distance in front of them.“I want to hear it”.“Her name was Emma. We dated for three years, and we broke up two years ago. Emma was everything I wanted in a woman, physically and emotionally, and sometimes I wondered why she was with me. She was too good for me”.Mayeli tried to hide the burning feeling in her chest. Killian had a girlfriend after her? One he considered too good for him. She was jealous.“Then what happened?” Mayeli asked in a strained voice.“We loved each other very much, but I always felt something was missing. I felt like there was something I had left behind that I was meant to find.

“What?” Mayeli shrieked. The receptionist politely repeated what she had just said, though she shot Mayeli a death glare, and threw Killian a coquettish smile. Mayeli didn't the young woman. Killian had that effect on many people, including males. The man was a breathing temptation.“I said we are filled to our capacity, and there are no space rooms”, the receptionist repeated.“Okay, that's fine, she'd stay in my room. Give me the keys to room 306, I made a reservation”, Killian said to the receptionist. The receptionist blushed. “I'm coming, I have to check the records, give me a moment”.Mayeli shot her a glare. The woman had the nerve to flirt with Killian in front of her.“Of course, she has every right to flirt with him. He is not yours or is he?” Her inner voice whispered.Oh, the damn voice! It always told her the truth. Truths she wasn't willing to accept.“Here you go”, the receptionist said, handing Killian the key to his room. Killian tried to collect the keys, but the wo

“Shoot!” Mayeli muttered, stepping out of her car.An accident had occurred, and the road was blocked. There was no other route leading to her house except this one. Accidents like this happened a lot during the winter. And tonight, it was snowing heavily. She checked her silver Edox wristwatch. It was 8 p.m. When she left school, Mayeli had taken Bryelle to her mother's house. Bryelle refused to talk to her, so she had to visit her Mom.After a long talk with Bryelle and a thorough scolding from her mom about telling Killian about Bryelle's real father, Mayeli was allowed to leave her mom's house. Now here she was, stuck! She looked around for who she could talk to, but everyone seemed busy. Finally, a middle-aged, male police officer walked past her, and she quickly stopped the woman.“What's the progress on clearing, Ma'am?” Mayeli asked. Mayeli walked into the head teacher's office to see her little daughter clutching to a tall well-built figure. Even though she was staring at his back, she knew it was Killian. She felt her heart twist painfully as she remembered her conversation with Nixen a few minutes ago. What the fuck was Killian doing here? And holding her little girl? He had the nerves!“He barely needs the nerve to hold his child”, Mayeli's inner voice chastised, but she ignored the voice. For a second, she panicked. What if Killian had discovered he was Mayeli's father? Otherwise, what was he doing here?“Are you Bryelle's Mom?” A tall, slim, and shockingly pretty lady, whom Mayeli had not noticed earlier asked. The woman had a slightly deep voice and an athletic body that fitted her beautiful round face. She was dressed in a black, Channel suit-skirt. She was clutching to a cute, chubby young girl of about Bryelle's age, whom Mayeli believed to be the woman's daughter.Christ, the little girl was probably t

“You look gorgeous, May”, Kreed said, placing a cup of coffee on Mayeli's large office table. She gave him a weak smile. “Thank you”.Okay, so what's with the sour mood? She just returned from her trip yesterday, but had insisted on coming to work amidst Nixen's protest. She couldn't bear to stay idle, it would kill her. She was thinking too much about Killian, and she was trying her best to stay away from Nixen, which was impossible since she basically saw him everyday and mostly every time. Her conscience was killing her.“Mayeli, I just completed your dress, and no thank you?” Kreed frowned.“I said thank you for”. She rolled her eyes at him. How she looked was the least of her worries. She was wearing a peach coloured Chanel suit and a white Jimmy Choo heels. Her hair was styled to fall down her back and she had a light makeup on her face.“I didn't hear you”, Kreed mumbled. Mayeli knew he was just trying to get her to talk, his best attempt at trying to cheer her up. “Just let m
