Chapter 30
Jason, Alyssa, Janet, and Antonio walked into the car show cautiously with Jayceon in the stroller, looking amazed and clapping at every car he saw. It warmed Jason to the core to see his son so happy looking at all the cars. Alyssa bought him a toy car to play with while he strolled through the aisles looking at the cars. He looked over at his sister holding Antonio’s hand as they walked together. It was the weekend and they all wanted to double date since things with Chris Sanders had died down. They could unwind with the sunglasses on and hats to disguise themselves, keeping unwanted attention away.
Jason looked around for the kid who invited him, hoping to see his car again and introduce him to his family. The many sports cars there aroused his fancy as he pushed Jayceon over to view them up close. Antonio walked over with them, leaving the girls behind.
“Jason and Jayceon seem to love this a little too much I think,&r
Chapter 31 Jason and Antonio found the kid Jason was looking for. His car had been cleaned. He stopped talking to a passerby when he noticed Jason with a smile. He walked over so excited to see him as he looked down at Jayceon. “Hey, you came. I didn’t think you would remember.” He greeted, shaking Jason’s hand and then Antonio’s. He stooped to Jayceon. “Hey, lil guy. High five.” He held his hand up for Jayceon to place his palm in his and he did slap his hand as he laughed which caused the kid to smile. “This is a really nice car,” Antonio replied, now getting flashes of the car that drove away from the lake house. His eyes looked suspiciously to the kid. “Where did you get a car like this?”&
Chapter 32“So that kid was at the funeral and that car was used by Chris. And this was at the hospital the same day Dan was poisoned.” Jason sat in the back seat with Alyssa and Jayceon, shocked and confused as to what it all meant.“Julissa told me Christavo got a match for the car and ran out. Can you call him and see what he has found out?” He asked Janet in the front seat. She nodded and pulled out her phone dialing Christavo’s number. The phone went straight to voicemail so she tried again. Same result. Which caused Janet to worry.“He didn’t answer. I will try later.” She replied.“How did Julissa know about him finding a match for the car?” Alyssa asked, causing Antonio to sigh.“She’s fucking him now, apparently. He called me to tell me we were right about everything, so far, and that he was stopping by to counsel Julissa. I’m assuming he found Gerald’s b
Chapter 33Jason and Janet walked into Dan’s home, very cautiously, using their key as the house was eerily quiet. Janet was the first to move through once they realized Dan was in his office. Flashes of the night that Fairchild was there were etched into her mind. She hadn’t stopped shaking from her meeting with Chris, but now, being back in the same house that started all of this was maddening.“Janet, Jason, it has been a while since you both have come to visit me.” Dan was the first to speak as they walked up to the open door. They were a bit quiet. “I assume you both have something important to tell me.”It was just like Dan to know them better than they knew themselves. Despite their anger for him, despite time and time again of them putting themselves in danger, they would always come back to him. He always had the answers. Once they admitted that to themselves, they would be better off.“W
Chapter 34Julissa’s leg bounced up and down as she waited at the police station for someone to locate Christavo. No one would tell her anything as far as the case he was working on and honestly she hoped he wouldn’t be in any trouble for her being there. But she couldn’t stay at home anymore, not with her feelings and, definitely, not with the silence. She was as alone in the house as she was on the inside. She didn’t even bother texting nor calling Antonio. He reached out to her a couple of times, but she didn’t even bother to text back.He made his choice so now it was, for sure, time for her to move on and get her life back together. Regardless, she was having his baby he didn’t have to be in her life now. She wanted him to be, but every ounce of her told her to just let him go—even as friends. He wanted Janet and that was that. She stood anxiously as a police officer walked by her with folders in his hands. &ldquo
Chapter 35Julissa stayed quiet all the way to her house where Antonio and Janet followed her to make sure she got home. Why Antonio was acting as if he cared so much, she would never understand or accept it. They walked in with her as she went straight for the fridge to pop open some sparkling water for them.“I don’t know what’s so important that you couldn’t wait to tell me later,” Julissa complained. “I would prefer to be alone. Thank you.”“No, you don’t Julissa. That’s why you went seeking Christavo. It wasn’t just for information. You needed attention. And because I was with Janet, you went to the next person available.” Antonio busted her out as she looked stunned at his accuracy. “I know you, Julissa. Regardless of what you think, I do know you.”Julissa scoffed after taking a sip of her sparkling water. “Could’ve fooled the hell out o
Chapter 36Antonio woke from the sound of his phone ringing across the room. At first, he was just going to allow it to go to voicemail. He was comfortable laying on the edge of the bed with two naked beautiful women. There was no way in hell he was going to get up from that bed. His sexual fantasies had been fulfilled all night and he was truly a tired, happy man.Janet woke before Julissa. She looked up, her hair falling on her face. She looked well sexed and flustered with satisfaction. She smiled at Julissa sleeping peacefully and seeing him look at her. They truly made love to each other last night and for the first time, Janet could enjoy the threesome to the fullest. It was an experience for all of them.“Well, good morning sexy.” She whispered to him. The sound of the phone going off again made her turn to where his pants were on the floor. Antonio sighed, frustrated, and laid his head back into the pillows. “You not going to answer i
Chapter 37 Damien walked into the dealer’s lot looking for the new model car that was advertised to him for winning the car show. He was excited and he couldn’t wait to tell his uncle what he had won. A fresh new car to add to his collection was fairly exciting for him. He was young and having two expensive sports cars under his belt was an accomplishment. He walked over to the car to see someone already looking at it, with his back turned. “Hey…are you…” The man turned in a nice dress shirt and slacks, looking business-like. His eyes read recognition and he knew who he was instantly. The fear in his posture showed slightly, but the anger was the emotion that reached his eyes first. “What do you want?” “A chance to finally meet my son, Damien.
Chapter 38Jason and Janet sat at the restaurant with their drinks, which they were going to need for certain. Janet had a glass of sparkling water while Jason had some whiskey. They were both nervous and beyond pissed that they had to do what they were doing, having a conversation with Christopher Sanders when all they wanted to do was murder the man. It was a favor for Antonio. He found his house and needed to find Christavo Tate. Therefore, he needed Chris out of the house long enough for him to search without interruptions. It made sense. He couldn’t just knock on the door knowing Chris knew who he was. He couldn’t take any chances.Dan was entertaining Damien for a few hours, in the meantime. The house would be empty enough for him to explore. A message appeared on her phone as she saw Julissa’s text warning her to be careful and if she needed anything to call her. It
