Jason woke up the next morning feeling groggy and stressed. His first thought was his sister. He quickly picked up his phone and dialed her number, hoping she will answer. It rang a couple of times then her voice came up on the other end. “Jason? Everything ok? It's early.”
“Janet, listen to me. Dan wants to make you partner with me to expand the company. He will
CHAPTER 7Jason walked downstairs on Melissa’s request to be seen by his first client of the day, Amy Norton. She was a depressed patient that needs to release oxytocin regularly to help keep her hormone levels stable. Amy was a bit older than most of his clients and the most emotional. She was skinny and a bit pale. Her eyes were puffy as if she had been crying. She wore a long skirt and a sweater that looked a few sizes too big for her.
CHAPTER 8Jason stood as Valerie and Yolanda walked into the room on floor eleven. “Jason!” Yolanda screamed running to hug him hard. Jason smiled, accepting the hug graciously. He opened his arms to Valerie as well. “We missed you,” Yolanda said, kissing his cheeks. “Same. It’s been too long. A year maybe. Why wasn’t I invited to the wedding?” Jason crossed his arms, disappointed.
CHAPTER 9Alyssa walked into the Sanders building more nervous than the first time. This time she was dressed in her finest purple dress that stopped at her knees and her flats that matched. No heels or she would fall and embarrass herself in front of Jason. Something she didn’t want to happen. Maybe sex again was ok. She added a little hint of makeup, but not a lot. Strangely it was deserted. Barely any cars were in the parking lot, unlike before, and hopefully, there’d be no secretary either. She walked in as her prayers were unanswered.
CHAPTER 10The day already started off wrong for Jason as he ran on his treadmill, breaking out into a good sweat. The workout was much needed after he couldn’t clear his head from Alyssa. The great time they just had was now possibly thrown down the drain. Maybe it was his lifestyle that caused her to run as fast as she did. Rightfully so, he understood why she would run. His life was becoming more and more of a hell. As he thought this right on queue Dan screams his name.
CHAPTER 11The house was nothing to be admired. It wasn’t even Jason’s type of neighborhood, but he never judged where she stayed. Cautiously he walked up to the door, taking off his shades as he did so hesitantly knocking on the door. An older man answered with a shotgun in his hand ready to shoot Jason at any small step. “Who are you?” The man asked looking Jason in the eyes. Jason wasn’t afraid of the man he assumed was Diamond’s father. “I’m sorry to come here unannounced. I need to speak with Diamond.”
CHAPTER 12Dan walked into the gloomy shady building with chicken feet and bones hanging at the entrance. People with white paint on their faces blocked him from entering with serious looks, harassing him. “Let me pass.” He demanded. One of them held out a knife to his throat. “You are not welcome here.” The man said holding the knife. “You will be eating that knife in a couple of minutes.” The man placed the knife closer to his throat, but Dan never moved.
CHAPTER 13Things began to look up for Jason as he went into his new workday with high hopes. Business as usual with his clients and barely talking to Melissa, which killed her. The only thing that could ruin his day now was if Alyssa changed her mind about attending the fashion show tomorrow. Friday seemed to go by fast as his mind was occupied on the events that happened in the past and his future.
CHAPTER 14The night was bound to be scary and exciting as Jason waited for Alyssa to come down from her makeover. The tuxedo he chose was a red and black mix that had a red collar with a black shirt and a black suit jacket. It fit him just right, leaving nothing to the imagination. He was nervous since it was his first time going out like this in a while. Something was bound to go wrong, but he wanted to put any negative thought behind him as he waited in the lobby for his luck to change.
