I know lots of people who named their kids after important exes, and unrequited loves. W/the 1y age gap, I'm sure she wasn't over the initial breakup yet.

This is an ESL novel. Sometimes they have issues understanding the importance of pronouns. Pronouns are an important part of speech, and are not chosen, or interchangeable. But non-English speakers often mix them up, confusing everyone.

Why is Claire always called Wilson, when she's Charlie Wade's wife? She should be Claire Wade. Maybe then Paul wouldn't call her "Miss Wilson", as if she's not married. She's Mrs Wade. There's a difference, and it matters.
