Walton's mansion
Ethan felt so delighted when he found out that Ava had left after signing the divorce papers, and that he was finally free from the marriage that his father had tied him into. He could finally make a final decision by planning a future with the woman he had always wanted. His head butler had informed him of the information minutes after they realized that Ava was gone, and confirmed that she dropped the divorce paper. He had expected her to throw more tantrums and refuse to divorce him easily, but he was quite surprised to see that she made up her mind overnight and left even without the money he offered. 'Had she been waiting for it too?' his mind subconsciously wondered, which followed a loud scoff when the thought that she actually rejected his money occurred to him.Ethan stood in front of the mirror longer than he usually did, looking at himself conceitedly through the mirror with a smug stretch on both sides of his lips. Sauntering to the other side of the room, his hand grabbed the most luxurious wristwatch from the revolving rack at the other end of his room, and began to clasp it slowly around his wrist while grinning. His lover was flying from Paris to the country after a long four months of non-ending modeling projects that she had signed for. They were finally going to be together after so long, and he had planned the most grand welcome for her arrival. He could finally have his good days. Ethan made his way down the stairs minutes later, at the usual time for a schedule of a light breakfast before he left for the company. He walked into the dining room ready to take his seat at the huge dining table of a luxurious interior, and his brows arched in surprise at what he discovered as disappointment was immediately inscribed all over his face. The table where they usually set his breakfast every morning was empty, which had never happened before except on special orders. Wondering what might have occurred, he phoned his head butler, George instantly, who dashed as fast as he could from where he was to attend to his boss."Was there a special order to not make breakfast today?" He asked calmly, trying really hard to contain his anger and put on a straight face when he was literally just glad a few minutes ago."Sir.. the… Mrs. Wa," George stuttered for seconds while trying to construct his sentence, wondering if he was still permitted to address Ava as his wife. "The maids seem to not know what to do, sir. Mrs. Walton has always been the one to fix your breakfasts."Ethan's eyebrows furrowed the moment he heard what his assistant said, wondering if he was trying to be ridiculously funny in such a situation. It didn't seem like he was joking though."Ava has been making breakfast?" He asked in surprise, because that was probably the first time he was hearing of it. He couldn't paint the picture in his head, of ever seeing her in the kitchen to prepare meals for him."How…..? Since when….?" Ethan suddenly struggled with the right words to use at that particular moment, or the right questions to ask in regards to the curiosity that found him. "Ever since, sir," George answered the question slowly, still unsure if that was the right way to answer his boss. He left shortly afterwards, when Ethan signaled that he could leave. He was still so puzzled by the fact that Ava had been preparing his breakfast, because she had never for once mentioned it to him before. He also began to wonder what else had been going on in his house without his knowledge, as he ambled out of the dining room only to meet his mother standing outside in his living room."What are you doing here, mother?" He asked grumpily as his face hardened, wondering what she came to do so early in his house. It was almost like she was living with him with the way she frequented the house so often."I've miss…….""Not that cheap excuse," he cut in coldly."Okay, fine. I've finally taken your vehement advice. I am leaving for Italy this evening. Your Aunt Dali has invited me over, and also your father is still angry with me," she informed him, hoping that he would be pleased with her final decision to stay away from him."Finally doing it at the very wrong time," he let out under a heavy breath. "I and Ava are now divorced," he told her."What? What… are you saying? You have divorced that girl? Are you serious?" Everett, who couldn't contain her shock and excitement at the same time began to splutter a lot of questions. She knew that her son wasn't the type to bluff, but she wanted to confirm over again to be sure. It was something that she had always wanted to happen, because she had never liked Ava right from time. However, he didn't give her an answer as his eyebrows narrowed even more. She turned her eyes away from his and faked a cough to the other side of the room, before turning back to him with a grin stretched on across her lips."Does that mean I can still stay now?" She implored calmly, while trying to act all sweet."No. You can't!" His sharp and witty reply came out immediately. And he turned away from her sight instantly, the moment his deep blue eyes flashed at his wristwatch. Regardless of how chaotic the morning had been, he had to be in the company as the CEO right in time. `~`•`~` The day was already going well with Ethan, who was patiently anticipating his girlfriend's arrival until his assistant informed him of the latest information. Apparently, his girlfriend sent an email that her flight was delayed due to some personal reasons, and it was going to take her four more days before she returned. The efforts that had been put into the plans for her welcoming party just went into the mud, which put the billionaire in a bad mood towards the end of the day. They had to cancel every reservation too. He just evaluated and signed the necessary documents at work, and decided to go home earlier than he usually did at night. After a strenuous and tough day, the car arrived at the mansion at the speculated hour and pulled in front of the mansion. Jesse, his assistant, came out from the car and ran to open the door, as Ethan stepped out of the car and entered through the main door into the house. Several minutes later, Jesse left for his house, and George came to welcome Ethan and also informed him that his dinner had been served. However, when Ethan came down to eat minutes later, his mood changed so abruptly when he took the first bite of the three-course meal. It was not to his liking at all. Immediately, he phoned George, who dashed down to the dining room instantly. The butler didn't know how to placate his boss who seemed so pissed because of the food, and explained apologetically in twisted words that it was prepared by the chef, who normally cooked the food for everyone else in the house. Ethan paused for a while at the elaboration that George had just given, as he began to wonder in his heart when he had suddenly become so keen about food.Years ago, he was diagnosed with mild anorexia that couldn't allow him to eat even if he tried, and he secretly depended on supplements and drugs to get better. It was really a tough time for him because he had to hide it, as well as running the family companies effectively without any problem. For some reason, he was just realizing the fact that he didn't even notice when he started eating well, and stopped using the medicines that he had been taking for a long time too. He had become so conscious of his feeding ever since, and couldn't afford to miss meals anymore the way he usually did. However, missing two important meals in a roll because of Ava's absence, was something he didn't like at all."There would be nothing of such in this house from now on," Ethan instructed swiftly the moment he made up his mind, as he turned to look around the corners of the dining room like he was looking for something."Compile a list of professional chefs that are well qualified, and I would employ from the shortlist, anyone that can do the job perfectly. And for the room that my ex-wife just moved out from, clear everything inside out and leave it bare. Inform the operators too about deleting her biometrics from the security entry," Ethan paused to think for a few seconds as he ambled out of the dining room, "By tomorrow we are changing every interior design of the mansion. Also, submit a compiled list with the information of the best interior decorators." The head butler, who always had a portable note and pen attached to his uniform, quickly brought them out to take down notes of every instruction that had been passed to him from Ethan. Shortly after, he mobilized the cleaning maids on duty to clear out everything in Ava's room. As they worked from clearing the dresser and bed, to the dressing room, George supervised them thoroughly while making out the lists he had been asked to put together. However, some notes caught his attention as they were about to be put out, and it turned out that there were numerous drawings on the sketchpad when he flipped it open. And for some reason, he decided to show them to the billionaire, who had returned to his room and resorted to drinking instead of accepting the gesture of getting another dinner made for him. Ethan had tried calling Anna but her number wasn't going through, and neither was she replying to her texts or emails. He was still in a foul mood amidst drinking, until he heard a ring at his door which had him wondering who it could be. George bowed as soon as he entered before presenting the notes to him, after he knocked on the door and heard the order that he could come inside. Ethan flipped through it for a few minutes looking through the huge images scribbled on the books, and also read the contents of what was written in the books. His eyebrows began to furrow by the minute the more he read, as his gaze fell back to George."All these belong to Ava?" He asked incredulously.New York hospital General ward Ava's eyes suddenly flashed open the moment she gained her consciousness, and she immediately realized that the surroundings around her were nowhere familiar. Her eyes meandered across the white ceilings to the walls that were around in curiosity, and the smell of the place suddenly lingered around her senses, reminding her of the possible place that it could be. She sat up immediately and parted the curtains that were around her to the right, and she shut them back immediately at the sight of the person lying in the next bed to her. Ava's entirety began to panic instantly as she wondered why she was in the hospital, and she turned to her left arm in fear when she realized that something had been holding her back. She tried to pull out the IV from her arm that was hanging by the side of the bed, and a lady in blue scrub who had sighted her quickly rushed over to her side to stop her. "Ma'am, please calm down. I am here to help you," the nurse tri
FIVE YEARS LATERNew York CityJohn F. Kennedy International AirportThe atmosphere in the expansive area, which had escalators moving up and down, was lively and bustling with many individuals and families strolling back and forth on a Wednesday evening. Despite this, the environment was still cool and calm even with the automated voices that could be heard across the buildings. Amongst the crowd of people that were making their way from each terminal towards the entryway, a beautiful woman with an air of sophistication strutted along the crowd. The red pants and suit jacket that she had on complimented her body tone perfectly, and the sound of her heels which clacked across the floor as she walked could almost be heard. Behind her was the assistant that pushed her trolley of loads alongside, and beside her were two children whose little hands were safely secured in hers. They had not stopped chattering nonstop to her as soon as they arrived at the airport, and she just smiled m
New York CityJO-ANN fashion company A lady sat diligently behind her office desk centered at the end of the huge office, as she tried to sort out the different files that were clustered on the desks. The large office which was just one of the rooms in her fashion house, was engulfed in a subdued ambiance with a stifling air of apprehension. Her beautiful face was knotted into a big frown as her eyes trailed across the words that were on the paper she had in her hand, which was a compiled guest list of the guests that were to attend the fashion exhibition. Her face began to brighten up and her mood improved spontaneously, the moment she sighted the name that she had been expecting to see. "How many more minutes to the event?" She asked, with her face deeply buried in another file, but there was no one to answer her question. That was when she raised her eyes, to see that the assistant that she was talking to was nowhere to be found"Is there no one there?!" Her angry and authoritati
The fashion exhibition ended so well with success, and made a great impact on the guests that attended the party. There was more time for pictures and meetings at the end of the exhibition, but Ava left immediately when the fashion exhibition was done, and didn't even wait for Jace to join her. She informed him on the phone later that she had returned to the suite, and he promised to visit later when she had taken a full rest, and recovered from her jet lag. By the time Ava got back to her hotel suite and climbed the elevator, she pulled the heels she was wearing because her legs were cramped from it already. When she opened the door to the suite and tiptoed to the room her kids were sleeping, she let out a sigh of relief when she realized that they were still fast asleep. She turned back immediately and walked out into the expansive space, as she perfunctorily stepped out of the dress that she was wearing immediately. Ethan's mind had been a perfect mess ever since he attended the fashion exhibition, and he was unable to sleep the entire night till the next morning when he had to get ready for work. He had been thinking nonstop about the lady that he saw at the event, and how much she looked exactly like Ava with every feature. It was hard to hold himself together and remain calm during the fashion exhibition, and he had rushed out immediately after it ended, to see if he could find her again. He searched the entire place as he walked around and checked to see if he could find the lady again. His heart shattered so badly the more he thought of the possibility of it being her, hoping that she probably survived the boat accident from years ago. His breath hitched uncontrollably as his entirety shuddered in anxiety, because a part of himself that he had tried so hard to close was opening again. Sadly, he couldn't find anyone that looked like her till many of the guests started to depart, and he c

AVARSON brand had become a sensational new talk amongst elites and socialites, after a stirring promotional video made by popular e-celebrities that were so hard to book, about the brand and its uniqueness. That was when the news about the brand ranking in the top five in Singapore came to life, and people started getting interested in its special appearance and beautiful patterns. Apart from its new huge store which had not really been noticed that suddenly became busy with people, the brand had gotten three pop-up spots at New York's major department stores already. It opened a showroom down the store too. In less than a week of Ava mobilizing every one of her fashion company units that had been working even before she came back to the city, her new fashion collection was becoming the new hottest issue amongst elites. With the use of the power and popularity that she had gained in Singapore
"Mummy, aren't you going to tell us about Daddy?" Autumn brought up the same issue that Ava had been trying to avoid for days, at the dining table when they were eating breakfast. Ava almost choked on the pasta that she was eating immediately she heard her little daughter question her, and quickly grabbed a glass of water to suppress the food remnants that were stuck in her throat. "We have lost contact for a long time. I have been trying to reach out to him," Ava faked a smile as she told her white lies to her daughter, who looked so innocently at her while listening to what her mother had to say. She felt so bad within her for having to tell her children that she couldn't find their dad, but to her, it was the best excuse she could give them in the meantime. She knew that she would have no more excuses as they increased in age. However, Autumn was not ready to let go of the discussion just yet. "What about the man in the picture? Do you not know him? Evan kinda looks like him
It was a Saturday morning as the warm breeze settled into Ava's house, and the twins had woken up earlier than usual because they slept so early the previous day. The newly hired nanny had come around so early to make them breakfast and get them dressed, while the housekeeper was to continue cleaning the house from where she stopped the previous day. The kids had started their piano and guitar lessons and were half gone into it, before Ava arrived home from the fashion store because she had to finish the jobs that she pushed till the next day after Ethan came by. She apologized to her kids for taking so long before she came to see them, and rushed upstairs to take her bath so that she could start the activities for the day. She spent longer hours than she usually did in the jacuzzi to calm her nerves down, and it felt like her head was going to be engulfed in her floating thoughts. Standing in front of the huge dresser in her room after stepping out of the bathroom, Ava stared at h

A leap over two years………"Oh my goodness, Ava. I am pregnant! I am carrying a life inside of me!" I cannot believe it. Come fast! I am waiting at the club," Ava read Dali's message with excitement, as she navigated her car dressed in a black sexy gown and heels, ready to party with her friend. "What pregnant woman goes to the club, Dali?" Ava chuckled as she and Dali clicked their glass of wine together, under the glowing lights of the club they were sitting in. "My type of woman!" Dali screamed happily, and chugged down the content of the non-alcoholic wine which she was drinking, "I am becoming a proud Mum," she declared blissfully. "I am so happy for you, darling. Congratulations," Ava pulled her tightly for an embracing hug. "I am so happy, honestly. Even if Lucio said it was fine, I feared that I might not be able to give him a child after many IVFs. I guess the lord still had many blessings for me," Dali expressed happily, beaming with smiles. She was wearing a simple red dre
The air was cool and crisp, carrying with it the earthy scent of damp moss and fallen leaves, while the gentle movement of a nearby stream added a soothing rhythm to nature. Fireflies flew around with their tiny lanterns blinking in the darkness, adding to the light that the moon reflected on the environment, making everywhere look bright. Ava and Ethan sat side by side with their hands intertwined on a fancy mat, and their gazes were fixed upon the horizon where the fading sun painted the sky in shades of pink and orange. The soft breeze tousled through their hair occasionally as a moment of silence passed between them, wordlessly expressing the deep connection they felt in that moment that they were by themselves. She also didn't forget to bring with her a picnic basket which she had put every food delectable in, and spent the entire evening eating, while enjoying the cool sight of nature with Ethan. However, she was tired of not talking. She wanted to complain to him. "Ethan.
Two months had passed by just the fleeting turning of days into weeks, and things had changed more than Ava could have ever imagined. In the best way. Dali was fully out of the hospital already and was only on meds, while sticking with her sweetheart, who refused to leave her side. AVARSON had launched their new collections for a new season, and gained more recognition than ever in global markets. And she was now recognized as the wife of billionaire, Ethan Walton all over the city which increased her popularity. They made a few public appearances after the news about them came out, and it had now become known that they were indeed married to one another. It came as a shock to everyone, and it took the entire media industry by storm because it was too hard to believe. It got even crazier to comprehend when it was confirmed that they had twin children who were five years of age, even if people didn't know more about them, because Ethan had used his affluence to block the media that
Ethan was sitting comfortably on the chair with his fingers interlocked into one another, as he waited patiently for Jace, who was being guarded by the prison guards, to the prison visiting room. He was trying to hold back the anger in him concerning everything that Jace had done to try and hurt his family. As they sat across one another with the close watch of the guards that were outside, Ethan's eyes narrowed as he stared at Jace who looked unremorseful of his actions. As they sat in silence, the room seemed to shrink in on them with the suffocating weight of their emotions "So you wanted to see me," Jace finally broke the silence as he remained flinty-eyed, with his arms neatly folded beneath his chest. "It is so surprising to see how well you can talk after everything that you have done," Ethan remarked with a malicious smirk, trying to make the conversation slow and minimal so that he would not end up doing the evil things he wanted to do by himself to Jace. He was so glad t
"It is so nice to have everyone care for me. I mean, Ethan is literally asking every minute if I'm breathing fine," Dali chuckled from where she was lying, with an IV being passed into her arm and a nasal cannula attached to her nostrils. "He truly cares about you. He bothers every minute," Ava answered. "It is not like I asked for it. I already told you guys to leave me and continue with your business," Dali frowned and rolled her eyes. "Stop it, Dali. Stop taking your health for granted," Ava cautioned her with a heavy voice and sad heart, hating that Dali was taking the fact that she barely survived a big illness with levity. "I am not dying, okay. I want everyone to understand that," Dali rolled her eyes with a serious face, as she stretched her hand to pick the bottle of juice on the table next to her which Ava rushed to pick for her quickly, "I can do this myself too you know," she hissed. She didn't want anyone to help her and act like she was dying. "Please, Dali. Just
As the first rays of dawn moved warily across the skyline and cast a gentle glow upon the peaceful waters, Ava stirred from her sleep as her eyes slowly fluttered awake, while adjusting to the soft, filtered light that peered through the scuttle of the luxurious yacht cabin. With a contented euphoric feeling that erupted within her, she turned her gaze towards the other side of the bed where Ethan was still sleeping in a peaceful repose, with his arm wrapping safely around her. A gentle smile graced her lips as she watched him while her heart swelled with love and gratitude. He looked so utterly peaceful and pretty in his sleep, and she felt so much happiness just by looking at him. As she thought of the wild night that she had with him, shy smiles grazed her lips as she bit them sensually, while trying to live the wondrous feeling he had given her again. It was the first time in her life that she had enjoyed the beautiful feeling, with the same man that she had her first with even i
Ava felt a soft, warm feeling on her cheeks which made her stir awake, as she let out a childish giggle when her eyes opened to realize who it was. Her eyes opened widely with an enamoring smile dancing on her lips, and the next thing she did was pull Ethan's neck closer to her nose. "Oh, Ethan. I love your smell very much," Ava muttered under her breath as she sniffed him tenderly, while feeling the softness of the sheets caressing her skin. Ethan grinned while tongue-tied in happiness because of her words and actions, and how she has been constantly taking him by surprise with her overt display of affection. His head went blank for a few seconds about what he was about to say, as she continued to gaze into him so intensely with passion dancing in her eyes. "You make it difficult to act normally around you," Ethan breathed gently as he sucked in his breath, and began to cradle her face gently with his hand playing along. His fingers traced the contours of her cheeks down to her ne
The faint beeping of machines filled her ears together with the distant hum of conversation and footsteps echoing down the corridor, as her eyes struggled to part open and recognize where she was. The light of the hospital room pierced through her hazy vision which caused her to squint, as a dull ache throbbed in her head when she finally adjusted to her surroundings. "Babe. You are awake. Oh my God. You are awake," Dali cried as soon as she watched Ava's eyelids flutter open to the consciousness of her surroundings. "Is that you, Dali?" Ava asked as soon as she realized where she was, and was taken aback when Dali suddenly hovered over her and hugged her so tightly on the bed. "I thought you were never going to wake up again," she cried as she sniffed, still not letting go of Ava, who thought her neck was going to snap if Dali kept hugging her longer than one minute, "I missed you a lot," she sniffed again and wiped her tears, as she finally let go of Ava. Ava heaved a sigh of re
