Kat’s POV
I woke up with a pounding headache, the kind that made my skull feel like it had been caught in a vice. My eyes fluttered open, blinking against the morning light filtering through a window I didn’t recognize. The room smelled faintly of cologne — warm, musky, and unfamiliar.
I sat up, groaning as my head throbbed. Memories from last night slammed into me — the bar, the shots of sangria, bragging like an idiot about my high school drinking days.
And then... the bathroom.
My stomach twisted. That man — the one who tried to corner me. The one who almost...
I shivered. Someone saved me. A man.
I turned my head — and froze.
My black lingerie hung over a nearby couch.
Panic shot through me. Oh God. Had I slept with that man?
I pressed my fingers to my temple, trying to push through the fog in my brain. Vague flashes flickered — giggling in the bathroom, staggering into the room, a man’s hands steadying me... then...
Oh no.
I bolted out of bed, my breath ragged. My purse was on the couch next to my underwear and my crumpled dress. My stomach twisted again. The memories sharpened — me, half-dressed, showering in his bathroom... his hands... kisses...
I had sex with him.
Heart racing, I grabbed my bra, hooked it in place, and yanked my dress over my head, tossing aside the oversized polo I’d woken up in. Zipping up my dress, I spun toward the door.
Then I saw him.
The man from the bar — and from the plane.
He stood in the doorway, a tray in hand, his messy hair falling over his forehead. His sharp features softened when he smiled.
“Good morning,” he said, his voice warm.
I bolted past him before he could say another word.
“Wait!” he shouted after me.
I didn’t stop. The house was massive, but I spotted the staircase and took the steps two at a time. The moment I hit the front door, I practically crashed into the gatekeeper.
“Open it!” I barked.
The gate swung open, and as if the universe pitied me, a cab appeared right on cue. I dived in, slamming the door behind me.
“Drive!” I snapped.
The cab sped off.

Aiden’s POV
“Asshole!” I barked at the gatekeeper. “Why the hell did you let her go?”
“She seemed upset... I thought—”
“Don’t think,” I snapped.
I turned back toward the house, frustration bubbling like lava. My pulse hammered in my temples. I grabbed the nearest thing — a small sculpture — and hurled it at the TV. Glass exploded, shards raining down on the floor.
“Shit!” I snarled, kicking the fragments. The sting in my foot barely registered.
The maids rushed in.
“Out!” I barked. “Get the hell out!”
They scattered like startled birds.
“I want her,” I muttered. “I need to see her.”
Footsteps thumped behind me.
“What the hell, man?” Gavin’s voice cut through my rage. “Did a hurricane hit this place?”
He grabbed my arm, forcing me to sit.
“I was close,” I growled. “So damn close.”
“We’ll find her,” Gavin promised, reaching for the first aid kit. As he started pulling glass shards from my foot, he added, “I’ve got news.”
I scowled. “If this is about work—”
“It’s about your girl.”
That caught my attention.
“Her name’s Kathleen Garrido,” Gavin said. “She lives with her best friend on East Pine Street.”
My heart thumped harder.
“Boyfriend?” I asked.
“He moved to India. Rumor is they broke up before she left. She’s a therapist — or was — but her boss might not take her back after she quit.”
“She’s single?”
“Yeah.”
I exhaled, tension slipping from my chest.
“Good work,” I muttered, giving him a rare nod of approval.
“Anytime,” Gavin grinned. Then he smirked. “Did you... you know?”
“No.”
His eyes widened. “Wait — you didn’t?”
“I couldn’t,” I admitted. “She was too drunk.”
Gavin’s laughter burst out of him. “You? Turning down a drunk, sexy woman? Now that’s a first.”
“I’m serious,” I snapped. “I couldn’t do it. She’s... different.”
“She probably ran because she thought you did,” Gavin mused. “Hell, the gatekeeper probably assumed she was one of your—”
“Don’t,” I warned.
He chuckled. “Alright, alright. So, what’s the plan?”
I smirked. “I know exactly how to make her mine.”

Kat’s POV
“Thank God,” I muttered, digging through my purse. My cash was still there. I handed a few bills to the driver and stumbled out of the cab.
By the time I reached my apartment, my head was still spinning.
“Morning, sunshine!” Noelle chirped from the kitchen, setting down a plate of eggs and bacon.
I shot her a glare.
“Don’t ‘morning’ me,” I snapped, walking past her to my room.
I dropped my purse on the bed and reached for my earrings — only to realize they were missing. Probably lost them in the bar… or his house.
The door creaked, and Noelle peeked in.
“I’m sorry,” she said quietly. “I didn’t mean to ditch you.”
I turned, her guilty expression softening my anger.
“I was drunk too,” she added.
“That’s no excuse,” I muttered.
“I know,” she whispered. Silence stretched between us before she asked,
“Where did you sleep last night?”
I hesitated. Hell no. I wasn’t telling her I’d ended up in some stranger’s house, half-naked, convinced I’d made a massive mistake.
“A friend’s place,” I lied.
Noelle didn’t push. She knew better.
“I made breakfast,” she offered instead. “Come eat?”
I forced a smile. “I’ll brush my teeth first.”
In the bathroom, I scrubbed my mouth clean, trying to erase the lingering memories — his hands on my waist, the warmth of his breath on my skin.
By the time I sat across from Noelle, I was calmer.
“I’m sorry for snapping,” I said softly. “You weren’t at fault.”
“You sure?” She reached over and squeezed my hand.
“I am,” I assured her.
Her eyes narrowed. “So... what really happened in India?”
I froze, my fingers clenching the edge of the table.
She dropped her spoon and held my hand tighter, her gaze locked on mine. “Tell me,” she said softly. “What really happened in India?”
I didn’t know when a tear slipped down my cheek. I sniffed and wiped it away with the back of my hand.
“He cheated, Elle.”
She didn’t look surprised, so I kept going.
“You know that lady he said was his sister…”
“Titai,” she answered.
I nodded, my breath shaky.
Her eyes widened. She clapped a hand over her mouth. “He cheated with his sister?” she whispered in disbelief.
“How am I even sure she was his sister?” I choked out. My voice broke, and my chest tightened.
“Oh my God,” Noelle murmured, shaking her head. Her face twisted with anger. “That bastard…”
“I was stupid,” I muttered. “I should’ve seen the signs.”
“No,” she said firmly. “He was the one who screwed up — not you.”
I let out a trembling breath.
“Forget him,” she added. “You’ll find someone better.”
I gave her a shaky smile, even though I wasn’t sure I believed that.
“Are you going back to work?” she asked.
“Maybe. If Mrs. Marcel will take me back.”
“Take today off,” Noelle said. “Rest. Tomorrow, we’ll figure it out.”
“Thanks,” I said quietly.
She stood and held out her arms. “Come here. You need one of my magical hugs.”
I laughed despite myself and fell into her embrace. For the first time that morning, I felt a little less broken.
The next day, I sat slumped in the cafeteria, my coffee mug barely warm between my hands.“She said, ‘Get out and never come back,’” I muttered.Noelle raised her brows and scoffed. “Like I care.” She leaned back in her chair with an exaggerated shrug.“You should,” I said. “We need the money.”Noelle shook her head. “I can always ask my parents.”I shot her a look. “Aren’t you a little too old for that? Gosh, you’ve gotta quit that ‘gig’ and get a real job.”Her eyes rolled skyward. “Yeah, sure. Because flipping burgers at Harry’s is such a career move.”I huffed in frustration and reached for my mug again. That’s when I saw them — two guys walking into the café.My gaze locked on one of them. Familiar brown hair, broad shoulders, and a confident stride that made my stomach churn. Memories came rushing back — heated whispers, tangled sheets, and a bitter morning after. My chest tightened.“Oh no,” I muttered.“You okay?” Noelle asked, noticing my stare. She turned to look — and gasped
"She didn't take her pills with her," Elle's voice muttered, barely above a whisper."Ooh... okay," a deep male voice replied.I could hear faint voices in the background — Elle’s familiar tone, calm yet worried, and that deeper voice… one I didn’t recognize."Why is she taking pills?" the man asked.Elle coughed lightly, avoiding the question."Shh! Are you trying to wake her up?" she snapped, her voice sharper now."You all are," I muttered, still keeping my eyes closed."We're sorry!" they whispered in unison."No use apologizing now." I sighed, forcing my eyes open. The dim room greeted me, and Elle stood nearby, one hand on her hip like she was about to scold me. My gaze shifted to the man beside her — and my heart nearly stopped."You’ve got to be kidding me," I muttered, sitting up. "What the hell are you doing here?""Relax," the man said, his voice smooth but annoyingly casual. "I just saved your life."I winced as a sharp pain shot through my head."Saved her?" Elle asked, he
I weaved through the crowded club, balancing a tray of drinks as I made my way to the raised platform. It was more of a lounge than anything else—dim lighting, plush couches, and low coffee tables scattered around.I set the drinks down and hurried back to my barstool. Despite the steady crowd, there wasn’t much demand for drinks tonight. My gaze drifted to the dance floor—flashing lights, bodies swaying to the bass. I tried not to look at him.The stalker. He had claimed a corner of the bar yet again, pretending to sip his drink while watching me work. Ever since that attack on my way home, he’d been showing up like clockwork—silent and brooding.Once, he'd turned up at 5 p.m., just sitting there like he owned the place. He’d order random things, barely touch them, and stare. Always staring.I'd confronted him before. Told him to leave me alone.“I’m not following you,” he’d said in that low, frustratingly calm voice.Yet somehow, I'd always end up walking home with him in awkward sil
"Good morning, Kat."I looked up to see Noelle standing in the doorway, balancing a tray of pancakes with a proud smile on her face."Morning, Elle," I greeted, returning her smile."Want some pancakes? I made them myself," she announced proudly.I sat up in bed, stretching my stiff limbs. "Sure."She placed the tray on my lap and settled beside me on the bed. I grabbed a pancake, took a bite, and hummed in approval."This is good," I said between chews."I knew it!" She grinned wide, clearly pleased with herself."One hundred percent," I added, giving her a thumbs-up.But then her smile faltered. She fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, like she was gearing up to say something."What's wrong?" I asked. She hesitated. "It's… well… my mom's out of cash. We've been struggling lately. Could you… lend me some money? I’ll pay you back, I swear."I stopped chewing, my eyes narrowing. "I spoke to your mom yesterday, and she didn’t mention anything about that.""Ah… she called me last night whi
Aiden's POV"Moan my name, baby.""Aiden...""Do you love it? Do you love my dick?" I whispered, biting her ear.She gasped and arched her back, moaning louder."Yeah... that's it," I groaned, driving deeper and faster. Her cries filled the room, mixing with the sound of skin slapping against skin. I felt it building — that sharp, electrifying rush."Hold on... I'm gonna cum," I growled against her lips.Moments later, I yanked her hair back roughly as I spilled across her face. She blinked up at me, breathless and dazed."Lick it up," I ordered. She hesitated — just long enough for me to smirk — then did as I told her.Grabbing my robe from the cushion, I draped it over my body and turned back to find her still sprawled on my bed."What are you still doing here?" I asked coldly. Her tired eyes flicked up at me. Frankly, I was surprised she could still move after six rounds."Thanks for the sex, but you can go now." My tone was clipped, but I tried to sound civil."What?" Her voice sho
Kat's POVI cocked a brow at his words.I didn’t ask what he meant, and he didn’t explain either. My nerves were crawling beneath my skin. Restless. Agitated. I wanted to stand up and walk right out that door. But I couldn't — not with Noelle’s mom still fighting for her life in the hospital.“How much?” I asked, my voice dry.“Four hundred thousand a month.”My breath caught. “Huh?”“I’ll pay half upfront, and if you finish the job in a month, you'll get the other half.”I blinked, trying to process what he was saying.I was only 24. I'd been in my second year of studying to become a therapist when my parents died. That dream had shattered overnight. Now, I worked as a secretary just to scrape by — and my yearly salary wasn’t even close to fifteen grand. But four hundred thousand... in one month? It sounded impossible. Therapists make an average of six grand a month — maybe ten at best. Some barely made three thousand starting out. I'd need years of study and experience to see numbers
Aiden's POVI spotted my driver and Jeremy leaning against my classic BMW as I stepped out of the airport.Jeremy straightened and opened the car door for me."To the site," I instructed."Yes, sir."The drive was quiet. When we arrived at my office building, Jeremy stepped out first, opening the door once more.I ignored the greetings that followed me inside — they knew better than to expect a reply. My father built this company from the ground up and eventually handed it to me. Since he died, my mother has taken over more responsibilities than I ever expected. She's held things together better than I could — impressive, considering I’m rarely in the country. At the elevator, I pressed my thumb to the scanner. The doors slid open, and Jeremy joined me inside. He hit the button for the 54th floor."Morning, sir," my secretary greeted me as I stepped into my office. She followed closely behind, placing a steaming cup of coffee on my desk.I eyed the stack of files beside it."What’s thi
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!"I paced the room, running my hands through my hair."What the hell, man? Stop being dramatic," Gavin barked from the couch, sounding unimpressed.I shot him a glare. "Shut up! This is the craziest shit my mom has ever pulled, and to top it off... Lisa Mila? Are you kidding me?!""Lisa Mila?" Gavin whistled low. "Dude, she's a model, her dad’s loaded, and she's practically a walking endorsement deal. You're lucky!""Lucky?" I scoffed. "Does it ever occur to you that I don't want women?""Right," he drawled. "But you sure don't mind bringing them home every night.""Exactly!" I snapped. "I sleep with them, Gavin. I don't date them."He leaned back on the sofa with a smug grin. "Except your therapist."I froze mid-step. Kathleen.Gavin noticed my hesitation and grinned wider. "Ahh... so that's what this is about.""It's not about her," I shot back. "This is about my mother shoving some rich man's daughter down my throat. Lisa Mila isn’t my type, and I’m not playing alo
"Stay away from her and read your books."Nicole turned from the words she was memorizing to her mother."Mom, are you okay?.""I should ask you that. Why did Lilly's mother call me now?. Answer me,"Aiden walks in immediately."What is going on, Honey?." He asked looking from his wife to his daughter."Isn't she too young to fall in love?, love isn't what she should be thinking of right now. And well, that girl's mother is Lily Mila. The one we know of." Kat shouted and walked out of the room.Nicole looked at her dad."Dad, what is going on?. Why's my mom so angry with me?."Aiden replied, "Stay put and I'll talk to your mother."He walks away.Reaching the room, Kat was walking to and fro the room agitatedly. The way Lily talked to her over the phone would make anyone worried.Lily had called her and complained that Nicole made her daughter cry, not only that, that Nicole had taken after her in snatching men.Nicole was too young to be accused of such."Calm down, Kathleen. You're
Kathleen and Aiden made it downstairs together. Kat listened to Aiden after he told her to smile and act like everything's fine so that this would not make her visitor uncomfortable."So which family did you come from?." Aiden asked."The Miles family sir." The young girl replied.Kat asked, "You said your name's Lilly?. Like Lilly Miles?."The girl nodded and she looked at Aiden.Aiden whispered, "Don't tell me you're thinking of..?."Kat bent down and exclaimed, "Oh my god!."Nicole was just watching her parents reactions. As a smart kid, she already knew that her mom was not happy with her guest, then why?. What happened in high school that caused such insecurity?.That has been the question running through her mind."Mom, will I sleep at her place now?." Nicole tactically asked. To ask in front of her friend might make her give in to her. Nicole knew exactly where to get her mother."Fine. But I want you back the next morning. And also stay out of trouble." She ordered.Lilly and
"Nicole.." Lilly screamed, running towards her, she closes her locker and turned around."Xup, Lilly." She grumpily said.Lilly stopped smiling and asked her, "Why do you look sad?.""My mom disagreed, she'd asked me to bring you so she can see you."Lilly's face fell.Too bad."Well, my mom agreed. She'd asked to see the only friend who helped me with my school work." She replied,Lilly repeated classes after she fell numerous times, she was one year older than Nicole and they've become friends after she begged Nicole to help her with school works.Lilly is eleven and Nicole is ten.Nicole was the most popular and brilliant girl in school. She'd won so many trophies for the school."I think you would have to come to my house after school." Nicole said as they both walked away."Well, I've never met your mom. I know you must take after her," Lilly mused. Her friend was perfect, she had the perfect family, mom, dad, grandparents but Lilly never got to meet her dad, she only had her mom
"What do you want me to do now?."Kathleen turned to Nicole, she had been begging her to allow her sleep in a friend's place."Nic, I do not want to talk about this anymore." Kathleen huffed and said, then started walking up the stairs. She walked into Fiona's room and sat down beside her.Nicole came running in, but halted when she saw Kat sitting beside Fiona. The both older women were now looking at her, Kat said, "Nicole, are you here to ask your grandma to beg me?."Nicole almost broke into tears."Mom.."Fiona looked from kat to Nicole."What is going on?."Kat answered, looking at Nicole, "Your precious granddaughter is begging me to let her sleep over a friend's place. When I was at her age, I'd never think of that," She finished and Nicole looked down."Who's this friend?, because I know you don't have friends," Aiden asked, making everyone look at him. No one even noticed he was standing at the threshold. Kat could not take her eyes off him, he looked really handsome in a ca
Noelle ran outside, cutting Aiden off on what he was about to say to Dylan."Did you know she remembered?."Aiden and Dylan were confused."She remembered what?." He'd asked.Noelle breathed out. The way she ran had made her out of breath. She was trying to calm down too."Kat got back her memory."Aiden's eyes widened as he took up the run inside.Dylan and Noelle looked at each other for another moment without speaking to each other. He came closer to her and picked up her hand."I'm sorry that I walked out on you earlier." He said, lowly.Noelle smiled and hugged him quickly."I see that you are happy over the news."She disengaged from the hug."All my life, my life has evolved around Kathleen. I shared in her pains and in her happy days. I never really cared if I lived for her but I am glad. Do you know why?. She is fine. She's okay. And her sorrow days are over now.""You're a good friend. You've stood by her and you've fulfilled what a sister would do."He tucked her hair behin
"Helena?." Kat called."Kathleen," Helena called back."Wow. You two know each other, but I thought you lost your memory forever," Clara said and earned a glare from Kat and Helena."You. How dare you?. How dare you destroy my life?." Kat fumed and started getting up. Her eyes had turned stone cold and her hands were clenched."Not only did you destroy Natalie's life, you went ahead to destroy hers?. Why do you keep hurting the people I care for?." Helena stated firmly. Her guns were firmly pointed at Clara."If you come close to me, I will kill you both." Clara stated with fear.Just then, the police came running around them with their guns. All pointing their guns at Clara."Get down now!." One of the policemen yelled at Clara. It didn't take long before Clara realized that she lost. She had lost her battle. Her eyes were fixated at Aiden who had come running to Kathleen. A tear dropped as she saw both hugged and Aiden kissed her passionately. Her face went red.She screamed."Noooo
She snatched the binocular away and rushed outside. She viewed from the front porch. She didn't know this person.Who's this person?.She squinted her eyes and took a look again. That face?.What?.…...End of recapKathleen stood at the middle of the field, looking towards the direction of Clara in which she had taken in. She breathed out, watching her come closer. She'd thought that Clara was one tough girl who fought a million times after seeing lots of huge fighting men beside her, but she thought wrong, Clara was an opposite.A girl who had a silk skin, beautiful eyes and innocent looks. She'd imagined if she at all had left a prison. Clara was beautiful and classic and…"Wow..you look different." Clara cut off her thoughts with a strong voice.Okay, Kathleen underestimated her looks. She's really rude.Kathleen didn't wanna go round the bush but said in a very straight tone."Where's my daughter?."Clara smirked."Ooh. You've got some balls now. I didn't expect to see you.""You
She reached her room and sat down, her eyes looking into the phone every minute, waiting for any call.Suddenly, Aiden walked in. She breathed out and didn't look at him.Aiden walks further and stands in front of her, but doesn't touch her.Aiden mumbled, "Okay, I'm sorry." He apologized.Kat looked up, in her eyes, he was tired. He wanted everything to end, it was like everything was not gonna ever end in his family. His family was never gonna be together and his enemies made sure of that."You don't have to apologize.." She said but paused midway and looked up at him. Her eyes glinted, although she knew nothing about this woman, she was bent on getting her hands on her. She'd wished she found a way to catch her.Aiden bent down quickly, "I promise to get her out of the way, nothing will happen to you or our daughter." He sincerely stated.Kat shrugged."Do everything you can, Aiden."Aiden smiled and got up. He needed to shower and get ready for what is to come. He pulled off his w
"Kathleen, Kathleen…"Nicole called but Kat didn't look up. She was speaking to one of the maids in the kitchen, and Nicole was surprised. She walked into the kitchen and touched her and Kat turned instantly."I've been calling you, you seem not to answer."Kat was confused, "Call me?.""I've been screaming your name for like ages," Nicole repeated. It then dawned on Kat that she was called Kathleen, not Lisa."Oh my god!. I'm so sorry. I've not been acquainted with the name yet. You know I lived with this name for five years."Noelle nodded understandably."Aiden asked me to remind you of the doctor's appointment. He just left for his office now,""How could he just leave like that?, he was supposed to take me there," She said, frowning."It was urgent, anyway I could take you there and maybe we could catch up like old times, I will tell you about yourself to help you remember,"Kat smiled at Noelle, she appreciated her, "Thank you, Noelle. I'm very happy that you could help. I still
