Zora’s point of view

I was glad he showed up to pick me up because this street is so lonely at night.

We didn’t talk at all, the silence was a comfortable one though, my eyes were fixed outside the view as he drove.

The thoughts when Austin proposed to me flew back into my head, I wondered how he would feel that day. Or maybe he might not have felt a thing, he was with his wife so probably he wasn’t even feeling anything.

But when he walked out looking infuriated, that is the part that gets me confused.

“Aww.” Immediately I saw the festival going on, it was the floating lantern, to make a wish. It happens every last day of the year.

Immediately Derrick pulled over and I looked at him.

“Let’s go make a wish.” He uttered and I laughed softly. I wanted to go so badly that I couldn’t say no. I missed last year’s festival, so now I have the opportunity. I wouldn’t want to miss this year’s.
