Derrick’s pov

I should have held myself. I never wanted to have sex with that woman, even as she knew I was tipsy she should have left me, she acts so weak, always trying to make excuses for everything.

Why would she claim she is pregnant all of a sudden? This is the reason why I hate her, everything you do with her doesn’t go right.

I can’t be the father of that child, that woman is trying to frame me. Or is she doing all of this not to get divorced? What a shame.

I sat on my bed wondering. But what if I am also the father of this child? If we eventually divorce, it may not be so good for the child.

What should I do? This won’t deprive me from marry my Mia. After all these years of living with heartbreak she came back to me as a changed person with a clean heart but she came quite late. I was already married to Zora.

But that won’t stop me from loving her.

I slept with so many thoughts running through my mind.

The next morning came by quickly and I was preparing for work as usual.

I heard a knock on my door and who walked in was Zora.

What does she want again? I’m not in the mood for any of her talk right now.

“What are you doing here?” I asked her while I knotted my tie properly.

“The divorce papers, I'm here to sign them.” She blurted out. I was quite surprised, I wasn’t expecting those words to leave her mouth.

I still couldn’t believe she was really carrying my child and I also want the divorce so badly.

But what if this child is really mine. She could just stay and have the baby.

I told her what needs to be done but she didn’t respond, rather walked away afterwards.

I don’t care what decision she makes.

I left my room after getting ready, packed my breakfast because I was running late and left the house.

She didn’t even come downstairs while my breakfast was packed by the maid, that’s unlike her and that’s also a relief.

An hour later I got to the office, trying to settle a few things.

My thoughts always drive back to Zora claiming she is pregnant.

What would I tell Mia now? I promised her I was going to divorce Zora but now  this situation has arised what should I do?

Immediately I heard a knock on the door and Mia walked in.

“My love, I have missed you.” She walked up to me and kissed my lips.

The sensational urge to hold her tight and not let her go flooded my body.

Mia once broke my heart so severely that it made me go into strong alcoholic drinks. I felt so miserable then because she was actually my first love.

I celebrate the day I met her at the bar after the misery she put me through. Mia changed to be the woman I wanted her to be and that made my love grow more rapidly for her. She is the only woman I want to see next to me when I wake up and before I go to bed.

“Over the weekend I spent my entire time thinking about you.” I smiled at her as she sat on my lap.

And she laughed a little.

“So is it done yet?” She asked, I was sure it’s about the divorce and I can’t tell her now that Zora is pregnant. She might be so angry. After telling her I haven’t even touched Zora, she will tag me as a liar, so I need to keep that a secret for now.

“Uhmm, about that we have discussed it but my lawyer isn’t in the states for now. So I’ll wait till he is  back.” I lied to brush the talk over.

“You can go for another lawyer, I want her out of that house as quickly as possible. I just can’t wait to be your wife.” She cried out.

I also can’t wait for her to leave but with this on ground I don’t know what to do anymore.

“I can’t wait too.” I smiled and she caressed my beards and stood up.

“You’ve had breakfast?” I asked her.

“Yes I have and you have a meeting by 11am, so I’ll go prepare for it.” She said and I nodded with a smile on my lips.

“Alright, I’ll see you soon, I love you.” I answered.

“I love you more, more, more.” She chuckled and left.

The evening dawned so fast and it was already time to close.

I took some of the necessary documents I’ll be needing at home and left my office heading to Mia’s office. I gave a knock before going in.

“So should we go grab dinner before going home?” I asked as I got close to her desk.

“You sound like we are going home together.” She rolled her eyes as she picked up her bag. Her reply made me laugh.

“Very soon, okay?” I responded and we both left. We went to a restaurant and had time together. I love it whenever I am with her. We were done and it was getting late already so I drove her to her house.

Driving back home to see  Zora as usual on the couch waiting for nobody knows who.

I got home finally after the long drive and walked in. To my greatest surprise she wasn’t in the living room.

It’s better she just stop with the drama. I walked into my room and changed up to go have my bath and something on my bed quickly catched my attention, I picked it up and discovered it was divorce papers.

I saw Zora’s signature written on them, I was shocked and confused at once.

I went  to her room and found out that she wasn’t there anymore and I laughed a little.

This woman was trying to play tricks on me, so the baby she claims that I am responsible for wasn’t really from me. That might be the reason she left.

This is the only thing she has done that made me impressed. I’ll just sign this tomorrow and send it to my lawyer.

And in the next two weeks I’ll have Mia as my wife.

This is great news.

This man’s face looks so familiar but I can’t recall. Why do I feel like I know him? Or do I? “I can’t believe this is really you, Zora.” He looked extremely happy as he walked closer to me and I couldn’t stop myself but smile a little and crinkle my eyebrows because it looks like he knows me so well. “Are you serious right now, don’t tell me you don’t remember me.” His smile suddenly vanished because I still haven’t said a word to him rather just stared at him. Luckily it’s just my secretary and two other men in the hall. “Sorry, I’m trying to recall but I still can’t remember.” I tried to be polite and smiled a little. “That’s okay if you don’t remember though, we were still so little back then in school.” He explained and immediately my eyes grew wider in surprise. “Don’t tell me you’re Austin?” I pointed at him with s

Sleep now.” I rubbed her hair and she nodded and I left the room as I answered the phone. It was a business call though and before I got to my room the call ended. I laid on my bed as so many thoughts fluid my mind. What should I tell her? Why would she bring up this same question again? Did something happen in her school? What must have been the reason? I don’t blame her for asking, she has all right to ask and know but what can I say?I sat and rested my back on the headboard of the bed. The sleep that filled my eyes suddenly vanished. If only Derrick acted a little bit nicer just a little maybe things wouldn’t have turned out this way. I’m pretty sure by now he is living his best life with his so-called Mia. I never knew he finally got married to her because I didn’t pay attention to whatever that concerns him. I cleaned my eyes because definitely whenever the

We both walked out of there and headed into the car. “Please, I just want to go home now.” I uttered, trying to hold my tears. I shouldn’t cry, I need to stop this. “Alright.” He said and started the engine and drove out. “I wasn’t expecting to see him, I made sure I traveled very far away from that city, so I won’t cross paths with him anymore. Then why?!!” My tears began to flow. They uncontrollably flow. “Zora, you need to stop crying and move on from this guy, he doesn’t deserve you, you are far better than his league.” Austin tried to comfort me but it wasn’t working. I cleaned my eyes forcefully and sniffed my nose. “I know what to do, I’ll take Ana far away to another country. We would go far away from here, from him. I never want to see him. I don’t want to ever cross paths with him.” “You would do no such thing

Derrick and I's wedding wasn’t a big one compared to his and Mia’s. Our wedding was just heard by few. Come to think of it. I know Derrick is very popular and well known but how come Austin knew about our wedding, I haven’t asked him that question yet. “Sophia just do as I say, go back and tell them we aren’t accepting their offer and that’s it.” I didn’t want to overreact anymore, so she won’t dig into any suspicion. “Alright Mrs Zora.” With that she left and I let out a deep breath. Getting to an hour later I heard a knock on my door and Sophia walked in with a pale face. “What’s the matter?” I asked as my eyebrows were squeezed. “Mrs Zora, I made a mistake with the company’s name. I am truly sorry.” Her head was buried to the ground as she spoke. “Ms. Sophia, look up and tell me what you are talking about.” I ordered her and she faced up and w

Zora’s POVIt was a Sunday evening and it was supposed to be the date of my anniversary but this day felt like a normal ordinary day. Suddenly my phone buzzed and it was Austin calling. “Hey beautiful, how are you doing?” He asked, immediately I picked up the call. “I am all good.” Austin calls from time to time and also sees us on a daily basis. Ariana is already getting more used to him already. “You’re at home right?” I scrunched my brows as he asked. What is he up to now?“Yes, do you want to come over?” I was curious to know. “Uhm, something like that. Today is Sunday and you need to take any form of workload off so I am coming over to take you out for a while at least.” He said and a smile curved up my lips. I was also thinking about that, to free my mind of so many things for the meantime. “Alright, that would be nice.” I replied. “I am on my way.” He said and hung up. I went to my bedroom to wash up and prepare. I was done with taking my shower. I brought out a black,

I have been through a lot already and I am not ready for anything of that sort right now. Please.” He didn’t utter a word after I said that, rather he just looked at me. “Alright let’s go.” He finally said and we walked away heading to the car. “Zora, I don’t want this to cause awkwardness in our friendship, I’m sorry if what I said made you

Zora’s POV The day I saw Mia I was so shocked and I kept on wondering why she was so drunk that day. Or is Derrick beginning to treat her the way he treated me? I’d be a little surprised if he does that because Mia is actually his first love. “Are you alright?” Austin snapped me out of my thoughts. He came over to my office to drop the records of their data so far and decided to stay for a while. “Yes I am fine but there is something bothering me a little bit.” I said and he asked me what was that. “It’s about Mia, Derrick’s wife.” And immediately he furrowed his eyebrows and asked what about her. “I bumped into her the other night so drunk and messed up, till some guard came to pick her up.” I discussed it with him and he raised one of his brows. “Don’t get yourself worked up over it. Maybe she decided to go out for a drink and ended up getting drunk.” Austin pointed out to me and I just nodded, pushing those thoughts aside. We talked about a few more things before he left.

After a few minutes, the doctor walked in, with so much surprise on his face. “Finally, Mr Derrick, you're awake.” He smiled and did a little check-up on me. “Doctor for how long have I been unconscious?” I asked him. “For over a week and a few days.” He replied, I was so shocked, suddenly I remembered how I got shot. “Ana!” I held the Doctor’s hand immediately as I remembered I was with her. “They haven't come yet, she will probably come later.” He said and I slowly let go of his hand. That means she is safe. How did I get here, who helped us out of there?“Doctor, is there anyone around a

Were you hurt anywhere?” I asked her, looking all over her body. “I’m fine, Mum, Daddy made sure of that, but I’m scared, is Daddy still alive, he was shot by those evil men.” She cried out and I cleaned the tears from her eyes. “Daddy, will be alright, nothing will happen to him, okay?” I tried to encourage her but I also was scared of losing him. I told Stacy and Collin about the dream I had about Ana. “Don't you think Austin is planning on doing it?” Stacy said and Collin agreed with her. “I don't think so, what would be his gain if does that?
