"How have you been?" Mr. DeMarco asks, his face lighting up on Lucas' laptop screen.

"Hey, Pops. Yeah, I've been caught up with things in Phoenix," Lucas responds, scratching the back of his head.

"Almost two weeks, son. What's keeping you there for so long?" Mr. DeMarco inquires, genuine concern etched across his features.

"There are some matters I need to handle, you know? Stuff I can't ignore," Lucas explains, the shadows in his eyes betraying the complexity of the situation.

"You can always talk to me, Lucas. You're family, and we look out for each other," Mr. DeMarco reassures, his gaze unwavering.

"I know. I appreciate that. It means the world to me," Lucas acknowledges, a small but genuine smile breaking through the weight of his concerns.
