Reed squatted in the cormer and said nothing. Because of the pain, her spine was hurting and she was afraid her dad would hit her again which might end up with her breaking her spine.

Dave glanced at Reed. To her surprise, a bit of complex emotions flashed through Dave's black eyes.

After a long while, he said. "Let's talk about it later."

After, the Defiant couple, Lita and Dave sat in the living room.

When Mr. Defiant saw Reed, he scolded, "Go upstairs right now.! I'll hit you again if I find you here in the next minute!"

Reed saw Lita sitting next to Dave while holding his arm intimately. The two of them held each other's hand with their fingers intertwined.

This was how a couple should look like....

Enduring the pain, Reed looked at the stairs in front of her which seemed like a tall ladder in the air.

Every step she took, the pain from being hit earlier made her sweat. However compared to the physical pain, the psychological one was more painful.
