The waves were higher this time, so beautiful the birds had to look down to see its beauty. The damages of the last few days by the water wasn’t a funny one. The knotted bamboo sticks we’re scattered around the sands, some were being returned by the water. The girls hadn’t been spared from the wrath, the house roof had to be repaired multiple times.

Phoebe Fresher took a walk round the house and frowned, the roof was alright and well fixed but the windows weren’t in their best conditions. She took the nail and pinned it to the wall, grabbing the hammer when she got interrupted by Drake.

“Hey baby,” her boyfriend whispered calmly into her ears, holding her by the waist, he wasn’t too slow giving her a great kiss, “and what do we have here, Phoebs?” obviously what he calls her.

“Trying to fix the windows,” she pulled back and took the hammer again, “it’s damaged.”

“Why don’t you get another one done, get the Islanders and pay them a little cash.”

“Like you’ve got some cash on your or something,” she felt crossed.

Drake swallowed the great remark and collected the hammer from her weak hands, “I don’t have coins here but I would when I...what about Sloane? She got some money, right?”

“What? No she doesn't, we lost a lot this month, our business went wrong. I need to come up with a plan for our next move.”

“Go somewhere else, like France, Spain, Saudi Arabia…”

“Are you seriously thinking right now?” Phoebe yearned, dragging the hammer right from his fingers, “you’re the worst.”

“Okay, you could go to Manchester, California, Philadelphia. Take a look at Manchester or even California, they have wealth implanted in their soil.”

Phoebe moved closer, her eyes scanning the area, it seemed like an idea just popped into her head, “you’re right, California, Sacramento, yes!”

“Nice, right?”

She gave a stern look then smiled, “nice, come here darling, let’s go check the system for clues.”

Phoebe walked him into the room, she pushed the dressing table aside and brought out a laptop putting it on, “Drake, you know when I get enough coins we’ll go on a vacation to Hawaii.”

“Yes,” he kissed her again, “and I’ll make sure you enjoy every…”

“Wait a minute!” Phoebe snapped, she had inputted some words into the system, some words were springing out, some codes. A woman’s pic was all over the internet, she had reported a case of theft and had told the police she had footages, real one, “we’re in a big mess,” the woman, Mrs. Smith, the governor's wife said in her report that she had met a strange man in the store who had stolen her bag from her, the next day, her house was robbed, though she had suspected there would be a robbery after her bag was stolen so she had played a smart one by exchanging the real gems with fake ones.

“Oh no, this is bad.”

“Mrs. Smith said she had a camera footage and she might have given it to the police, but we blocked all the CCTV cameras.”

“Or maybe you didn’t, maybe she knew you guys were coming,” Drake added, “maybe she knew something vital in her bag was missing,” he leaned on the dressing table., “Maybe.”

Phoebe sighed, “and she still had us take the diamonds, it all makes sense now, why she had made it so visible, and the gem collector had rejected it. Was it all planned out?”

“No it wasn’t,” Sloane had just entered the room, she was awkwardly dressed in a bikini and a jean jacket as cover for her sun dried skin, she turned to Drake, “Hi!”

“Hi Sloane, have you been listening to our conversation this whole time?”

Sloane nodded and sat close to Phoebe at least to look through what she was busy doing, “she said she had footages on the internet? Doesn’t she fear we might return? And moreover she said a man, that’s Jack's men, she would never suspect they were girls.”

“You said it wasn’t planned out.”

She almost forgot, “Mrs. Smith is a very cunning woman, she just need attention from the government, remember, they had threatened to impeach her. I blocked all the camera footages, I accessed the code, there’s no way she has proof.”

Phoebe didn’t want to buy the positive thought, “and what about the diamonds, she made us give our last coins to those we owe in thought that we’ll get a bigger gain through the diamonds and it was all fake,” she gave in a deep breath, “ it’s obvious it was all planned out. She might have a footage.”

Sloane took a slow move towards Drake and smiled, “don’t be a coward Phoebe, not everyone gets whipped in the ass and still sit back.”

“You daughter of a…”

“Stop!” Drake shouted, “if you girls think this is the best way to solve things then we could go to the ring or something. Sloane,” he turned to Sloane who was already looking angrily at him, “try to listen to Phoebe and understand her problems.”

Sloane asked, “which is?”

“Moving away, to somewhere else, like California…”

“Never!” Sloane cut her off in the most annoying manner, “we’ll stay here in Rhode till I get another client.”

“But…”

“That’s final,” Sloane turned to walk away.

“Why? Because your mom resides there or what?” Phoebe snapped back at her, “you know you can run but can never hide, you know it’s all about crime, our lives are painted black by our crimes, don’t prove to be so innocent.”

“You fool!” Sloane pounced on her, throwing a hard punch on her left eye.

Drake pulled her away, cautioning her to stay far away, “c’mon girls,” before he could finish the sentence, Sloane had stormed off, “Okay.”

Phoebe stared at Drake with a swollen eye and fell in his arms, “I just want the best for us all.”
