The woman called Amanda was surprised. Her lips uttered Henry's name even though she didn't make a sound.
"Manda, why are you here?" he asked.
Henry glanced alternately at Alana and Amanda, two women of different ages whose faces looked very similar.
Amanda enters the emergency room. Her tears overflowed when she saw her daughter lying limp with her head wrapped in bandages.
"You're the one who hit my girl?" Amanda asked Henry. Even though she was annoyed, she kept her voice down so as not to disturb other patients.
"Child?" Henry couldn't hide his surprise at Amanda's statement that she was the mother of the child he had run into. "Is she your daughter?"
Amanda didn't answer Henry's question. She continued to look at her daughter with pity, lying weak in the hospital bed.
"Manda, tell me the truth, she's my girl?" asked Henry, forcing Amanda to face him. However, the young mother shook off the hand of the man who had bumped into her child.
"Don't make fun of you!" Amanda was furious but kept her voice down for fear of disturbing the other patients. "You better get out!"
Henry finally left the room, not wanting to make a fuss at the hospital. He sat on the waiting chair at the front of the room, holding his head.
William approached the boss after completing Alana's administration.
"Boss, what's wrong with you?" asked William, who sounded slightly panicked, seeing his boss look frustrated.
It wasn't the man he was worried about, but the little girl in the emergency room.
"How is the girl?" William looked very worried. He was worried something would happen to Alana. "She's fine, right?"
"I can't say that she's fine, but...."
"But what, boss?" William sat beside the boss, still looking down, holding his head.
"Alana is Amanda's daughter...my ex-wife." Henry straightened up, then turned to his assistant. "Is there any chance that Alana is my daughter?"
"Sorry, boss, I can't answer your question. You'd better ask Mrs. Amanda directly."
"I asked her, but she said it wasn't mine. She was about five years old, and we divorced for six years. There's a chance she could be mine."
"Do you want me to investigate?"
"No need for William. I will investigate it myself. Maybe the child was the child of her lovers when she was still my wife."
William was silent and didn't reply to his boss anymore. If assigned to find out about the child, William would do it as ordered, even though he already knew everything. He would pretend he didn't know anything.
Alana has been moved to the ward while waiting for blood donors. The little girl looks still soundly in her sleep as if reluctant to wake up. Amanda seemed very sad. She repeatedly patted Alana's cheek, hoping her daughter would wake up.
The bloodstock at the hospital was empty, making Amanda frantically call her friends who had blood type AB. Amanda's blood type is not the same as that of her daughter. That makes her nervous. Her daughter needs blood, but she has yet to find a donor.
Amanda's tears continued to roll down her cheeks. She felt like a failed mother if she couldn't save her child.
She only has Alana and Alan. They are the ones who can make Amanda not tired of fighting for her life. But now, one of her children is lying helpless with an IV needle stuck in her left arm.
Henry looked at Amanda, crying in the corner of the room. The man couldn't bear to see his ex-wife sad. Even though he still hated it when he remembered Amanda's betrayal of him, his love was no less significant than his hatred.
However, now things are different. Henry is the one who hurt Amanda. Even he felt the woman's pain when he saw Alana lying weak and helpless.
"Manda, I will donate blood for Alana," said Henry, standing up from his seat.
Amanda stared intently at her ex-husband. It had been almost six years since she parted ways with that man, but Henry was still the same, still handsome as ever.
However, all of that meant nothing to Amanda anymore. The parting that has caused pain until now has made Amanda unable to act normally.
The pain returned when she remembered the man she loved had betrayed her and even slandered her.
"What do you mean?" she asked. She just realized that Henry was the biological father of her two children. Of course, most likely, their blood type is the same.
"My blood type is AB, just like your daughter. Let me donate blood for Alana," Henry asked a little forcefully.
"But-"
"Alana needs blood urgently. If we don't take action quickly, I'm afraid something bad will happen to her," Henry said.
"Nothing will happen to my daughter!" Amanda said firmly.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that, but please consider this offer carefully. Forget about us for now. Remember, Alana needs the blood ASAP. Take it as a form of my responsibility for making her like this," said Henry. "Don't be selfish, Manda! Alana needs blood urgently."
"Okay," said Amanda, who finally agreed.
Amanda wanted to avoid involving Henry in the kids' business, but Alana needed that blood. For the sake of her child, Amanda suppressed her ego a little.
Amanda and Henry immediately saw a doctor and checked Henry's health so he could quickly donate blood.
Henry did a series of tests to ensure his blood was like Alana's. Fortunately, Henry's whole body is healthy, allowing him to donate blood to the little girl he had bumped into.
Many questions raged in Henry's brain, including Alana's blood being the same as his. It had been almost six years since he and Manda separated, but he was sure Alana was his child.
Everything that happens can't be just a coincidence. A path of destiny must be outlined. After a long time apart from Amanda, this is the first time he meets the woman he still loves.
After the blood draw process, Henry returned to Alana's ward. The doctor advised him to take a brief break, but Henry insisted on seeing Alana.
The donated blood was immediately put into Alana's body through an IV tube. The poor little girl had to feel the pain because of her mother's ex-husband's accident.
Henry sat on the sofa not far from Alana's bed, the man's eyes fixed on the little girl, who was fast asleep.
Amanda, who saw that her child had received a blood transfusion, could breathe a sigh of relief. She sat beside the child's bed, gently caressing affectionately, and she gave it to the top of her daughter's head.
"Lana, you must be okay," her mother whispered.
Amanda planted a kiss right on the top of the daughter's head. Everything about that woman did not go unnoticed by Henry. His ex-wife is still the same as before. It looks beautiful and full of affection.
Henry couldn't understand why a woman as gentle as Amanda could have an affair. The man recalled memories of the past. Then Henry exhaled roughly and ventured closer to his ex-wife.
"Amanda," Henry called softly.
Amanda turned her head. The woman looked at her ex-husband. Her tears wanted to come out, but she did her best to hold them back. She didn't deserve to cry over the man who had hurt her.
"Yes," Amanda answered in a very hoarse voice.
"I want to have a serious talk with you."
"We'll talk outside," said Amanda.Amanda rose from her seat before leaving the child. She first pulled Alana's blanket up so her child wouldn't get cold.Amanda came out first, followed by Henry. She deliberately spoke outside so Alana would not hear if she woke up.Alana can't hear her conversation with Henry, let alone the matter being discussed about her.The young mother did not want Henry to discover the truth about her twins.Amanda and Henry headed to a hospital garden right behind Alana's ward. The young mother sat on one of the park benches. Henry wanted to sit in one chair but knew his ex-wife would refuse to sit near him."Manda, answer my question honestly!" Henry asked. "Is Alana my daughter?" the man asked again.Henry repeatedly asked Amanda the same question. He hoped that his ex-wife would give a different answer than before.Amanda was silent momentarily after hearing Henry's question, which she had been asked more than twice. She exhaled roughly, then answered firml
Amanda can't pay it, but she doesn't want to accept help from Henry because she doesn't wish the identities of her twins to be exposed. She will continue to hide Alana and Alan's identity until she is ready to reveal it to her children later.Henry is not a man who is easily deceived. Seeing Amanda's behavior makes the man suspicious, as if the woman is hiding something."Why do you keep following me? I already told you I'm telling the truth. Now it's up to you to believe it or not." Amanda looks frustrated when her ex still follows her."I just wanted to take responsibility, but you forbade it." Henry was stubborn. He didn't care about Amanda's ban."Okay, if you want to be responsible, now take care of Alana in her room. I'll be home in a while to pick up Alana's needs," Amanda said, slightly pushing Henry's body so as not to get too close to her. "Let me take you to pick up Alana's stuff," Henry said."I'll take it myself!" she insisted."Amanda, let me help you. You were once a pa
Henry pressed the button on the bed to call the doctor. He panicked when Alana regained consciousness after crying hysterically.Henry was worried that Alana had been seriously injured in the accident. Although it wasn't entirely his fault that the child herself ran into the middle of the road, he couldn't just let go of the responsibility. As a result, Henry must now be trapped again with his past love. After waiting for a while, the doctor arrived and immediately examined Alana. "I've given her some medicine; she'll wake up soon," said the doctor, "it's best if someone close to the patient takes care of her so that when she wakes up, she won't be hysterical.""Yes, Doctor. Thank you very much," Henry said to the doctor before the man in the white coat left Alana's room. After some time, William came to the infirmary after paying the hospital administration."Everything is in order, Boss. I have paid all of Alana's hospital fees." William only reported but did not give the files beca
"Amanda, where's Alan? Why does Alana go to school alone?" asked William, his boss's ex-wife, who no longer wanted to be called madam because she was no longer Henry's wife. "Alan has a fever, so he doesn't go to school," Amanda replied. Willy, I'm not ready to tell Henry about all this," Amanda said while turning to the little girl lying down. "I will only say something to the boss once I get your approval. You relax; I'll take care of everything. You'll be fine." William was willing to do anything for the good of the people his boss loved. Although later hated by Henry. "But I need some clarification. Where else would I find that much money to pay the hospital bills? I refused Henry's help because I was afraid he knew everything." Amanda was downcast. She had no choice but to refuse the help she needed so that Henry wouldn't discover Alana's identity. "You take it easy, Amanda. I've taken care of Alana's administration. You take good care of Alana and Alan." Amanda straightene
Henry reminds Sonya of the truth of the relationship that brought them together. Their arranged marriage is not just limited to business.Sonya realizes that Henry's love for her is sincere. Sonya felt it was easy to approach Henry after Amanda's absence, but in reality, Henry still had no desire to remarry after six years of divorce. "Annoying!" Sonya was angry at Henry's treatment of her. The woman got up and looked sharply at her lover.Instead of being scared after Henry's anger, Sonya challenged Henry. She was sure that her fiancé would do everything his mother said. And that's why she will continue to approach her future in-laws."Why are you angry? I should be angry because you've gone too far." Henry threw up his hands. "Give me back my cell phone!"Henry was dumbfounded at the woman in front of him. Instead of apologizing, she was angry.'She is very different from Amanda. Very different,' Henry thought.Sonya returned Henry's cell phone, which she had taken from him. "You're
Amanda fell to her knees in front of her husband and in-laws with tears in her eyes. No matter how hard she tried to deny the allegations, Henry and his mother would not believe her because the evidence of infidelity was in plain sight."You can't deny it anymore, Amanda. You and your lover have taken advantage of my son's great love for you." Mrs Vena was furious to learn the truth about her daughter-in-law.Henry was more silent. He was speechless. The woman he loved so much was slowly killing his feelings."Mom. I never cheated on you."Amanda continued to beg for forgiveness for a deed she had never done."Look at this picture! Have you forgotten the last time you did that?" Mrs. Vena showed Amanda a picture of her with a man doing very embarrassing things. "This is so disgusting!"Henry could no longer think clearly. The image of his wife's behavior with another man destroyed his self-esteem, so the divorce was inevitable. After years of separation, he met his ex-wife again—the wo
Henry could only mumble after his fiancée left. He couldn't possibly tell Sonya that he would pursue his love again. He would do it quietly, and Henry planned to start a closer relationship with Amanda without his family knowing.Although Amanda repeatedly said she was married again, Henry didn't seem to care about his ex-wife's current status."Amanda is much better than any woman. Her only mistake was betraying me, but I only hate her with my mouth. Deep down, I still love you very much, Amanda."Henry leaned back and closed his eyes. 'What you did to me was very painful, but why does my love for you not diminish one bit,' Henry thought.Looking back, it hurt Henry to know that the woman he loved so much had betrayed his love. But strangely enough, despite being separated for almost six years, he still loved his ex-wife very much.Henry straightened his seat and looked back. "You're a very troublesome woman, Sonya," Henry said when he saw his fiancée's belongings still in the car.He
Henry called his assistant again. "Willy, please handle the meeting this afternoon. I'm going home; my head is spinning.""Okay, Boss," Wiliam replied, "then I'll take you home first." William glanced at the watch on his wrist. "There's still two hours before the meeting.""Alright. I'm also afraid of hurting people again if I drive." Henry hung up the call and leaned back as he swiveled his chair around.William was already in Henry's room in less than two minutes because their workspaces were on the same floor.William stood in front of his Boss's desk. "Come, boss."Henry got up and stepped out of the office first.William followed his Boss's long strides while muttering to himself. 'The Boss must be thinking about Alana and Amanda. Even though he's Alana's biological father, there must be a bond between them.'"Would you like to see Alana first, Boss?" asked William as he opened the door for his Boss."I'd like to see her, but Sonya is angry with me and suspicious of me. I'm worrie
Mrs. Vena even knelt in front of Amanda. She spoke in a hoarse voice while looking down. "Amanda, please forgive me. I regret planning to take Alan and Alana from you. I realize your relationship with my grandson is important, which I never felt before."Amanda was stunned to hear Mrs. Vena's apology. She never expected that Mrs. Vena would kneel before her and apologize so sincerely. Her heart was filled with emotion and began to soften."I have seen your influence on my grandchild's life. I realize my mistake and promise not to separate you from them. You are a great mother, and my grandchildren need you. I ask that you forgive me."Amanda felt moved and wanted to give Mrs. Vena a second chance. She could see the genuine change in the woman's heart."Mrs. Vena," said Amanda understandingly, "I appreciate your apology. I also hope that we can improve our relationship in the future. Wake up!"Amanda stood up and helped her ex-in-law to get up. Even though the woman had done a lot of w
In a quiet living room, Henry sat on the sofa with a tense face and sharp eyes, looking at his mother. Beside him was Amanda."Why don't you bring my grandchildren?" Mrs. Vena asked, pretending to be excellent."Mom, we decided to get married again." Amanda got straight to the point. "I hope Mother will approve of us."Mrs. Vena was silent; she couldn't say a word. Even though Amanda had given birth to two grandchildren for her, she didn't want Amanda to be her second daughter-in-law because she didn't want to have a poor daughter-in-law.Henry smiled sarcastically, seeing his mother just silent and without saying a single word. "As I thought, Mom was nice to Amanda and just wanted to make her miserable."Amanda held Henry's hand so that the man wouldn't continue what he was saying."Amanda, we were fooled by this old woman. Do you still believe her?" Henry started the conversation in a firm tone."I'm sure Mom has changed, especially now that we have Alan and Alana. I'm sure your gue
Henry stood in front of Amanda. Expectant gazes turned to Amanda, who was sitting in front of him. Silence immediately enveloped the room; only the sound of the clock ticking on the wall could be heard in the ears of the four of them."It's been a long time since we lived apart, Amanda," Henry said tremblingly, trying to suppress his nervousness. "We've been through a lot together, and honestly, I can't live without you."Even though he felt nervous, Henry dared to propose to his ex-wife again in front of his assistant and secretary."We have been apart for so long, but my love for you has never changed. Even though you once hurt me because of a misunderstanding, the love in my heart never faded."Amanda looked at Henry with a face full of doubt. Her mind and heart were racing. Remembering the reasons behind their decision to separate made Amanda's heart cut like a dagger. She knows that mistakes and misunderstandings have ruined the love they once had."But..." Amanda looked down; sh
William arrived at his house after Mr. Anderson came home. He ran into Henry, who was going home."Boss, when are you arriving?" William asked."Where are you from?" Instead of answering, Henry asked his assistant again."I ...." William stopped speaking when the cell phone in his pocket rang non-stop. William reached into it and looked at his cell phone screen. "Mr Jo? Looks like there is important information," said William to Henry.Willy answered a call from the butler at the Boss's house."Sir, there is important information about the old lady," said Mr Jo from behind the telephone."We'll go there now. Let's talk at home.""Are you back, sir?""Boss and I are home," answered William, "we'll be there soon."William hung up the phone immediately. "Boss, I'll change clothes first. We're going to your house now.""Your clothes are wet; where have you been?" Henry was surprised to see that his assistant's clothes were wet."It was raining there. I got caught in the rain when I got ba
"Thank you, darling." William kissed Tiara's hand many times."Darling?" Tiara was surprised. "We are not married yet.""We can start getting used to it now." William looked at Tiara with a smile. He didn't expect the final choice to fall on the boss's secretary. "I promise to treat you well."Tiara smiled while muttering to herself. 'Hopefully, my decision is not wrong.'Meanwhile, at William's house, Amanda and their children had just arrived home after returning from abroad."Mom, why don't good father come home with us?" Alana asked while leaning her body against the back of the chair."There are jobs that only a good father can do. So, he has to come back earlier than us." Henry tried to explain to his daughter even though he didn't know what important business it was, which made William so in a hurry to return."Good father has a lot of work; now, we are always accompanied by Henry's father. So it's not lonely anymore even though we rarely see good fathers." Alan began to feel c
"I'll get you some drinking water first; Boss must be thirsty." Tiara became increasingly nervous. "Please come in!"Tiara opened the door wide and rushed into the living room. William followed Tiara into her house."Please sit down, Boss! I'll get you a drink first."Tiara immediately went to the kitchen to get drinking water. Arriving in the kitchen, Tiara slumped and sat on the floor."Oh my God, what should I do?" Tiara held her chest while sitting cross-legged on the floor.A few minutes later, she woke up and stood up after calming down. Then, Tiara brought a glass of water for William."Please drink, Boss!"'She was in the kitchen for ten minutes but only brought me water. What was she doing in the kitchen all that time?' thought William.William took the drinking glass provided by Tiara. He drank all the water because he was also nervous."Do you want more water, Boss?" Tiara asked when William put the empty glass on the table."Yes, but it would be even better if it had taste,
Tiara sat in the living room, her right hand holding her cell phone and her left hand holding her chest. Tiara felt nervous, and her heart was pounding. She didn't know what to say.Her Boss was a man who was cold towards women. William couldn't joke with her like that, but Tiara was still confused. Did she hear wrong or what?"Tiara... did you hear what I said?" William confirmed that the telephone line was still connected."Yes, Boss.""Tiara, I have thought about this very seriously. I have known you long and am sure you are the right person to be my wife."Tiara felt her heart beat faster when she heard William's words. She couldn't think what she would say to her Boss.'It turns out I didn't hear wrong,' said Tiara to herself."Tiara, I need your opinion."William needs answers from Tiara. He couldn't continue talking about his plans while Tiara kept quiet."Sorry, Boss, but what do you mean by the right person?" Finally, Tiara dared to speak to William.William took a deep breat
After Mrs. Vena and Mr. Oeberon went home, Amanda took the children into their room to rest. Meanwhile, William and Henry were still in the living room.Henry sat opposite William. His face was worried when he saw his mother suddenly being very kind to her former daughter-in-law, Amanda."William," Henry called, then exhaled roughly. "I'm still unsure about my mother," he said quietly. His assistant, William, frowned. "What do you mean, Boss?""William, you have to do an investigation about my mother," Henry said in a serious voice. "I felt there was something wrong with her attitude towards Amanda."William looked at Henry in surprise. "But, Boss, may I know the reason behind this request? Does Boss know that Mrs. Vena has evil plans for the Twins?"Henry took a deep breath before answering. "I'm sure she won't hurt Alan or Alana, but she's planning something evil for Amanda. I can't trust my mother because she hates Amanda so much."William nodded in understanding. "Yes, Boss. I wil
"Amanda, have the children met their grandmother?" William changed the subject. He didn't know what to answer at all because he didn't have any female friends."Not yet," answered Amanda, "we will meet here today. Maybe soon...." Amanda's words stopped when she heard the bell ring in William's apartment. "That's probably them.""I'll open the door first." William rushed to open the door, and sure enough, Mrs. Vena and Mr. Oeberon came. "Please come in, sir, ma'am."William took a few steps back to give way to his boss's parents."William, please help me so that my two grandchildren don't hate me," said Mrs. Vena quietly. He was worried that Alan and Alana would be angry with her for trying to harm her two grandchildren.Amanda had allowed her ex-mother-in-law to meet Alan and Alana, but the woman was only ready to meet today. William must also assist because Amanda knows her husband and children will not defend her."Don't worry, Amanda never instilled hatred towards anyone in the hea
