Chapter 16

"My child, my child!..."

Hailey laid on the hospital bed and struggled. She furrowed her eyebrows and agony and drops of sweat oozed from her forehead.

Her hands were grabbing at the air, "Don't hurt my child, Nikolai Coke please don't hurt our child. Ah! My child!"

She was suddenly startled awake and sat on the bed.

The memory before she lost consciousness slowly came back to her. The fear she felt when she was pinned upon the bed and unable to struggle, was nightmarish. Hailey's eyes widened in horror.

She suddenly turned her head and saw Nikolai sitting next to her and staring at her with an unemotional gaze.

"Nikolai Coke, you devil!"

She roared angrily and rolled off the hospital bed. When she was about to lung at him, she realized that there was a needle at the back of her hand. It was connected to an IV line thar channeled fluid into her vein.

She lifted her hand and pulled out the needle, then she rushed to Nikolai and grabbed his collar in a fit for madness.
