Slowly, Ethan shoved the two cards back into his pocket gently as soon as he locked gaze with Colton.

His mind flew high. Sweat gradually dripped from his face even though he was standing adjacent to an air conditioner.

Ethan thought of going back upstairs and even running away from the bar, but it was already too late.

"You mean this bartender saved Amanda? It's crazy don't ya think?"  Colton asked, not seeming too interested in the guy.

"Well, if that's what he claims, then, what's the big deal? Miss CEO is fine by the way." Beatrix ended.

Ethan could not believe this. He thought of calling Jameson right away, but he held on for a bit. He tried all he could to make sure that no one noticed his phobia, so he simply smiled at Colton.

"Let's get the fuck outta here!" Amanda commanded, somewhat aware of what was happening.

"Alright, see um… why don't I accompany you to make sure she's safe. I mean, that's what friends are for right?" Colton offered to walk towards Amanda.

"Well, why not? As long as she gets home safe. I'd like you to stick around for a bit though you know" Beatrix ended then bit her lower lip slightly.

Colton smiled then placed Amanda's left hand around his shoulder.

"Get away from me now you monster! Get me the bartender. It's him I want now!" Amanda still struggled to speak, managing to stand with the support she got.

"What's with the obsession babe, he's just a bartender okay? Nothing more. Let's get you home okay?" Beatrix led the way.

Colton turned back and looked at Ethan one more time. He then twisted his neck in a fearful manner.

Giving him a final warning smile, he left with Amanda's arm around his shoulders.

As soon as they all left with the escorts, Ethan released his breath.

He quickly dipped his hand into his pocket, pulled out his phone and dailed Jameson.

He ran as fast as his legs co. carry him into one of the nearby staff's restrooms.

"Pick up dude! Pick the fuck up" he mumbled under his breath.

Cameras were watching him, so he tried to maintain good body posture.

"Hey yo' buddy? What's cool? It isn't 9 pm yet eyy" Jameson from the other end finally picked up.

"Hey, we… I mean I… I'm in grave danger bro. I'm about to get killed. Help me man.." Ethan began to speak immediately. His voice was shaking vehemently.

"Easy bro. Easy…. What's goin' on?" Jameson tried calming Ethan down, but to no avail.

"He's here man. He's here… he's here.. he's fucking here" Ethan's voice was still shaking with high intensity. He was almost crying out of fear.

"What do you mean, who's here?"

"La Muérte. The monster's here man. He looked into my eyes. He has Mr. Winston's daughter and her friend. I know he's up to no good."

"The fuck? Where the hell are they headed?"

"Ion know man. I've got to follow them. Nothing must happen to Miss. Amanda. I'm pretty sure she doesn't know the the inner Devil!" Ethan said and quickly barged out the door without hanging up the phone.

"Hello? Who's Amanda? Helooo?" Jameson was abandoned to curiousity.

Ethan took the two contact cards, then he was able to save Amanda's phone number in his mobile. Next, he he shoved them into his bag.

"Where the heck are you going to? Is it closing hours yet?" The manager from nowhere barked at Ethan.

"You should be grateful to Miss. Beatrix, you would have been running off into the streets by now. Now you get back to work!"

"Sorry, I…. Sir, this is very important. Someone's life is at stake. I swear, it would take just a few minutes and that's all."

Twice now, Ethan has offended his boss. He saw him already raging with fire. He held firmly to the briefcase in his hand that contained the two cards and some documents concerning La Muérte.

"If you leave now, don't ever return. You've pissed the god-damned kitty outta me!"

The manager shouted to Ethan's face and walked off, colliding into his shoulder.

Ethan placed his hands behind his head and sighed.

  What would he do?

  ******

"Alright, she's safe this way. Yeah."

"Just take her forward a little more. She likes it more on this side of the bed" Beatrix helped.

It was a few minutes past 08 as the digital wall clock would have it. The whole room was quiet.

All the windows had been closed slightly, though one could see the tall beautiful buildings of the city standing by the window.

The two both sat on Amanda's bed and watched her sleep like a baby.

Colton suddenly took two more buttons away from his shirt, revealing two rows of his thick abs.

Beatrix just stared at him like a fool lost in the woods. She craved to touch him and feel him. But she was a celeb. He should make the move.

Colton simply looked at the sleeping beauty on her bed. His thoughts flew high. He wanted having his way with her. This would make the whole butter much more softer for him.

He grinded his teeth at her. Soon, he would get married to her, and he would be in control of the biggest company in New Hilton.

"So, how did you get to know Amanda?" Beatrix interrupted the young man. Colton barely noticed the lady who had been staring at him.

"Oh yeah. Um.." Colton began. He took a few seconds to frame up a lie.

"We… we grew up together in same neighborhood. Went to same elementary school too. She was a darling, and um… I would never let any harm come to her." Colton shifted his gaze again to Amanda and smiled.

He sure knew how to frame emotional moments like these.

"Well, as fate would have it, her hard working dad made it big. Big enough to be the wealthiest man in the city. Soon, we parted. I was shattered when I heard about the death of her mom." Colton ended, then lowered his head in presumed agony.

"Oh. Sad little story. Fate never comes through to us the way we want, you know" Beatrix smiled a little.

"Yeah. You know, why don't we let her be. She needs to get some rest alone. I'll stick around in my room. Wanna come?." Beatrix said and began to stand up in an alluring manner.

  "Your room?"

"Um… yeah, this house would definitely be incomplete without me in it. Haha" Beatrix said and began to walk out of the room.

Colton leaned closer as he got up from his sitting  spot too, and spoke into Amanda's ear.

"It's time" he whispered, but was interrupted by a phone call.

"Hey Trixia. It seems the CEO has a call." Colton said loudly as he trail down the path Beatrix had followed, holding Amanda's phone in hand.

Beatrix took the phone from him curious. There was no name displayed. Simply showed. 'No Caller ID'.

"Who could it be? It's past 08."

"Well, why don't you pick up and let's find out?"

Beatrix stared at the phone. She seemed to have been gripped by fear a little, so she stared at Colton who still had his glasses on.

Beareix swiped the receive button and waited for the other end to speak first. No one said anything at first.

   Suddenly..

"Run Miss. Leave there at once. The man with you is a murderer. Leave the house at once. If you can, take Amanda along with you. Leave there at once.

"His name is La Muérte" the person screamed from the other end of the phone. The man ended panting and trying to find his breath.

"What the fuck is this?" Beatrix began to move backwards away from Colton gently.

"Who the fuck are you?" She asked again.

Her heartbeat rose. She could even hear it thumpin' and thrashin' like the popular Z Rexy would rap.

Colton's face changed. He went from the handsome caring man to a muscular devil.

He finally took off his shades and began to walk towards Beatrix.

She gasped as she saw his eyes. His left eye was missing. It was patched up.

It made him look even more scary.

Colton suddenly pounced on Beatrix and used his fist to hit her head with so much strength that she fainted.

Colton then took his phone, called a few of his bodyguards.

Next, he took Amanda's phone from Beatrix's hand.

He hacked into her phone, got the caller ID, next he transfered the code into his phone and it displayed a number.

He called the number with his own line.

"Hello. Who's this?" The person asked, panting.

*It's me, Beatrix. Please, come over to Amanda's house now. I need your help." Colton ended the call.

He didn't need to stress to get a female's voice, he had the settings already done. Thanks to the latest gadgets that his company had produced. The Pillow 4 High-res iCloud smartphone series.

He then quickly carried Beatrix and hid her in a bathroom, waiting for his men to come pick her up.

It was past 09 already. So, he cracked his sniper pistol, shoved it back into its sheath and sat quietly on the staircase.

"What the heck? What's going on? What are you doing in my house? How did the security let you in?" Amanda asked suddenly, without warning.

Colton turned to look at the CEO standing right up behind him.

He gulped saliva in fear.

Amanda sat still besides her father. She watched as the life machine beeped in sequence. It was a very long night. The machine clock that hung suspendedly on the wall beeped as the time hit 11:00pm. It was quite dark outside. The room was dead silent, and one could hear the drop of a pin. Mr. Winston was quite an elderly man who had an unstable health. The slightest fear could increase his blood pressure. Ever since Mrs. Winston died, her husband's health just deteriorated immensely. "What exactly happened?" Amanda finally asked Miss. Kristen, her father's personal assistant. "Well, miss, I wasn't practically there at the hall the moment the hoodlums attacked, but, thanks to his security personnels, he was quickly grabbed and carried away. He fell to the floor on the process and had a fracture in his left arm" Kristen answered and lowered her head. Amanda's mind was swelling with questions. Was this a set-up? Does Colton have anything to do with this? No! He ca

It's was 12:30am. The noise that ruled the city died down and awoke another midnight noise. Silence. It was a firmly established law in the city that all social gatherings and events must be put to a halt once it's past midnight. Ever since the city lost a very precious woman, Mrs. Winston, the city had not been so secure at midnights despite the security status. The case of her mysterious accident was still a case pending in court. Lawyer Ramzy vowed to get to the root of it and trap down the murderers. It's been 2 years now, yet, all Ramzy's hope proved futile. Ethan had made up his mind to just run away, far away from the city as Jameson had told him. Jameson had offered him money to travel out of the city that very night. But something told him to stay behind. He didn't know what that thing really was, but the one thing he was certain of easy that it was connected to Amanda. Amanda walked gently into the chief officer's office along with Fred who had already called her lawyer. The office was quite appalling. It had a wide air-conditioning that hung on the wall. Besides the AC was a big abstract artwork by the popular Nathan Emorey. How he grew from this to that was inspiring to the people of New Hilton. Amanda at this point didn't know what to even think. Confusion clouded her vision. Fred and his surbodinates were asked to wait outside until Amanda has been fully interrogated. Amanda's stomach churned inside of her. It was like she had swallowed a big chunk of iron and now, it's hurting her badly. She began to wish she had Ethan here. From the little time she had spent with him, she concluded that he was a nice, caring guy who would save her in tough situations like these. What could have possibly happened to Beatrix? Was it really Colton? He was the only person in the house when she woke up. Amanda found it hard to believe that Beatr

Ethan who had ran over her when she fainted looked bizzare. The police had beaten him up to stupor demanding for Beatrix. His mouth was seriously swollen and blood stains decorated his white tuxedo shirt. "Miss Amanda, I guess it was all a trickery. I too would have trusted Ethan. He has the face. Turns out he has been the criminal all along." Officer Don said. Ethan stood helpless. He felt so embarrassed that he didn't even attempt to look towards Amanda. Amanda
