Chapter 7

Sebastian’s point of view

Getting through the night was as hectic as I presumed it would be when I let myself sheltered a drunk guest. Sure he was drunk before he came over, but my treat added to the mood. I’d offer him the luxury of my fridge, where he sampled into his guts my alcoholic beverages and wine.

I had to tuck Xavier into one of my guest rooms later after he’s made a mess of my living room with his puke.

As disgusted as it made me, I tried not to react offensively at the kiss. He was drunk and wasn’t in control of himself, besides it was just a kiss. Bleh!

Though if he had kept making attempts, I sure would’ve honored the thought of throwing him out in the middle of the night.

Dawn came sooner than expected, and I found myself operating on a brief hours of sleep.

When I checked up on Xavier, he was still deep in his slumber while I was already dressed up to start the day. It’s 7am already, when does he wake up?

I left the house with a message from me through my receptionist. Told him to inform Xavier that I’ve gone to work, and that he’s invited to drop by.

When I arrived by the company, Donna was the first to show up by my side.

“You. Are. Trending, Sir,” she spoke enthusiastically as she swiped over the screen of her work tablet, unconscious of her steps as we approached the elevator.

“So half of Atlanta supports your anger and resentment, another half is against you because they’ve always rooted for Ryan, and the rest on the chart are against you for wanting revenge but not on Ryan’s side. So basically Ryan is winning the online reputation fight. Some of his fans are now coming up with ridiculous claims that your truths are fabricated to destroy Ryan, and that you’re a jealous and envy man that needs to be canceled,”

“Donna,” I called for her attention that was pinned on her tab.

“Huh?” She looked up at me.

“The last thing I’d give a fuck about is a newborn baby with teeth, not some online shenanigans. So please, what’s on my schedule for today?”

She chuckled, “Okay but you’ve gotta answer this, is it true you and Ryan use to be boyfriends? I know you said otherwise, but I saw a captured shot of you both in an intimate moment, also the kiss…!!!!”

Emotions paled off my face as I stared with a blank expression, obviously ignoring her question even while her eyes pleaded for me to answer.

She groaned and rolled her eyes. “You have an interview with the NT’s channel,”

“What?”

“And a meeting with the boards,”

“Why?”

“All because you kissed a man. No, because he kissed you.” She laughed manically as she walked out of the elevator.

I followed, but not swiftly.

This is ridiculous. Why would I wanna get interviewed on a News channel, and why would the boards suddenly call up a meeting without my knowledge.

All because of a scandalous night at the governor’s party.

I opened the door to my office and nearly ran mad at the sight of who was seated comfortably in my couch.

“Oh yeah, that’s the last surprise I kept for you,” Donna spoke up from behind me. “Here’s your coffee by the way, cold and iced as liked it, I have a feeling you’re gonna need it.” She winked as she stretched the cup out for me.

I glared murderously at her, “You’re fired, and I’m taking the coffee.” I took the coffee and went into the office.

“Get out,” was the first thing I said to him as soon as he noticed my presence.

I walked over to my desk without acknowledging his existence any further.

He stood up and started walking over. “This is my space Ryan, and as sweet as it would be to have you thrown out aggressively, I have an image to maintain so kindly get out.” My gaze narrowed at the exit while I took a sip out of my coffee.

“I’m not leaving till we hold a civil conversation,” his tone deadpanned.

“One phone call, and my image can suck it.”

“I am not leaving till we talk!” He slammed his hands on my desk in a bang that nearly tip over my cup of coffee.

Disdain rolled into my eyes as they settled on his face, “I don’t have anything to say to you,”

“Well I do, and you’re gonna hear me out.” His face pushed closer to mine.

“Heck no-“

His body crossed fully over the desk as his hand reached for my collar and pulled me close till my face was inch apart from his. His hot breath fanned harshly on my face with his intense gaze locked with mine.

I could hear his heart raced, observe the anxiety in his nerves at the proximity between us.

“Get your hands off me,” my cold tone broke the passion of the moment.

“I didn’t abandon you out of will.” He let go of my collar and stepped away from me. “I was driven away, far away from you. Do you really believe that I wanted to be done with you?” He scoffed, and crossed his arms over his chest.

“At least-“

“How many years now?” I cut in to ask, “You also came back when?” I didn’t wait for him to answer that before o threw another question.

“If you’re not about to manipulate me and lie to me, tell me why now is when you’re just reaching out to explain yourself?”

“Oh and you can’t lie that you’ve tried, because then you’d know that because of you, I never changed my contact number or information since the days of our college. I even became more reluctant to change it after your disappearance, I thought to myself then you might decided to reach out all of a sudden so I have to be available.” I pushed back the chair I was sat on as I rode to my feet.

“For the sake of who we were to each other, I’ll have my guards escort you out nicely. But if you dare to show your face around me ever again, then who we were can suck it.” I hit on the button that immediately pushes a signal to the head guard that his attention is needed in my office.

“Wait, so that wasn’t enough for you to hear me out? Instead you don’t believe me?” He sounded amused, who does he want to make a fool out of? Cause it can’t be me.

“Oh sure I can believe you, but that’ll be after I’ve seen and met with a unicorn.” I flashed him a sardonic smile.

The office door swung open as my men walked into the scene.

“Kindly walk out Mister Growan here, and see to his absolute exit,” I relayed, gesturing at Ryan.

“What’s gonna take for you to believe me and hear me out?” He asked, genuinely curious.

“Nothing much, except I’ll never believe you. Now get him the hell out of here!”

I gave her a knowing look as I glanced at the guards Seb had instructed to escort me outside. She sighed when she got the memo, “He can be a real pain in the ass with his stubbornness sometimes, let me just help you deal with him. I might be able to get him to his senses,”I didn’t respond to her, I just went into the elevator and when the guards tried to follow me in I gave them a cold glare that slit a pause to their motion. I can’t believe he would chase me out. Seriously how stubborn did he have to be? For me to sneak into your office just so I can talk and explain things to you, shouldn’t that tell him how genuine I was? Instead he chose to believe I was there to manipulate him. I scoffed out aloud, manipulate him for what? Why would I come to lie to him now? What could

She already tried barging in, and was sent outside with the threat that I might stop joking around with the thought of sacking her and act on it if she doesn’t leave me alone. Barely a second later, my door pushed open without my permission. Annoyance flayed over my face as I trailed gaze up at the entrance to see it was Donna, “You better be ready to talk,” I chided. She stepped aside for someone she was with to come inside, the person being Xavier. Oh, so he’s here. Must be why Donna kept bugging me with beeps. “Mister Xavier, I-““Thought we were past the formalities now? Or did I not woke up in your house?” He cut into my sentence. There was no time to prep for the show so I was instantly ushered into the shooting room as soon as I came in. I was told to wait for the host to announce my arrival and invite me to stage. It was then I looked over to the stage, and shot a small smirk at who I found seated already with the said host. I waved and beckoned at the manager who was close to me, “Wasn’t I told this would be a solo interview?” I queried when he got close enough. “Well yeah, but we made a last minute decision to sit you both to get a wider audience. Both your supporters and his would be tuning in to hear what you both have to say.” The wired intercom he has plugged in his ear beeped as he pressed on it. “Hey, yeah he’s ready.” He looked up at me, “You’re going in,” he told me and then quickly walked away and towards his crew. Courtesy of his sudden confession, words that influenced my current state of awestruck. What does he mean by that?…. ‘Seb I was in love with you. I was and still am…’ the words replay over and over again in my head, in a blissful echo that sounded peaceful rather than dangerous. He closed the small gap that separated us, then made to cup my cheek when I ducked out of his reach and step away from him to the right side of the elevator wall. His brows creased in haze. I scoffed. I know this wasn’t the reaction he expected from me after my little showcase at his confession. However, who does he think he’s dealing with? A ten year old who’s never been out in the world? Cause that’s the kind of person he can trick successfully and fool with his words. “You really expect me to melt at the heard of that didn’t you?” I asked, as another scoff fell through. “Gosh look at

Chapter 12 (BL) Ryan’s point of view It seems unbelievable, totally surreal that Seb would think that my confession is a lie. That he would think my love for him is a plot to achieve his downfall. Meanwhile it was the beautiful feelings I developed for him that stirred this shit up in the first place. Perhaps if I hadn’t written a letter for my father to find, maybe- just maybe this wouldn’t be our fate at the moment. Or if I hadn’t fallen in love with my best friend. When I finally escaped my father and met with my true family, I’d thought all will be well and that I’ll be reunited with my best friend once again. However, once they learnt of my non platonic affections for him through my deranged foster father. They instantly kicked against the idea and forbade the decision. They actively fought against the sick part of me that was also in love with my best friend. They call it sick and demented, that it wasn’t right and an abomination. Chapter 13 Sebastian’s point of view The environment was as greenish as I remembered, calm and the seething epitome of serenity. It was indeed the perfect place for her. I coursed through the passage that led to her assigned ward, my gaze locked on the picture hidden inside the locket hung to my necklace. I don’t wear the necklace often, but I keep it with me at all times. I usually bring it out whenever I’m visiting, because it’s the one object that reminds her of me. I arrived at the room, and opened the door to her seated comfortably on her rocking chair, carefully knitting on what seems like a sweater and humming a delicate sound along. “Nana,” I called out softly for her attention. She looked up at me at the heard of my voice, confusion on her face as she sized me up and down. “Who are you, gentleman?”I snickered at her question as I walked over to her, bringing the locket I had with me into display. “I’m this guy,” I showed her the picture tucked away inside the locket.

I said nothing yet as we ascended the stairs and waited for us to enter my room before I turn around to let out my serious reaction. “What the fuck?” My arms flayed up in addition. “Betrothed? When? Where? How? Why?” “Calm down,” “How on earth did you expect me to calm down about this? All of a goddamn sudden!” “It was the right thing to do,” she said all of a sudden, crossing her arms over her chest as she slowly paced to the side of my room. “You were becoming more insolent than before, doing a lot of things without thinking. Chapter 15 Sebastian’s point of view The next day came faster than I expected. I’d gave one of the board members a phone call yesterday to cancel the meeting they’ve scheduled and defer it for today’s noon. He was to round around the decision and keep everyone informed. The visit yesterday has gotten me in a bit of a sentimental mood that I didn’t want everyone to be able to read or observe. So there was no way I could attend that meeting with an aura like such, gloomy and like not myself. I mean sure I’m a master of poker faces, but lately my face has been wearing emotions far more than I can count. And it’ll be a major let down in my life if I let those roaches read into my mood so I better run instead. Donna was the first person that came to me as soon as I stepped into the company, all professional and quirky as usual. “Good morning Seb, what’s with the mood? It’s extra dark and intense. Chapter 25 Sebastian’s point of view Donna and I arrived at the office in the morning, but she had to go away with the excuse of changing her outfit. I was now left in care of my new secretary, Ryan’s sister and it looks like Donna hasn’t shared with her the rules around here. She knocked on my door and brought a coffee for me. Number one, I do not take coffees anywhere or any types so long as it’s not prepared by myself. Number two which is really very important is, unless I’m unreachable and urgently needs to be reached, you’re not allowed to knock on my door or disturb me, instead make use of the landline attached to your desk. I’m sure Donna didn’t tell her all of this because she wanted her to get on my nerves. “You’re not allowed to knock on my door unless you’ve tried to reach me through the landline provided at your desk multiple times and I was unreachable, only then should you come to my office and knock on my door. I hate disturbance,” I began to address her. “If I tak

I turned around with the aim to bang the door on his face when his body pushed through and his scent flexed straight for my nostrils. He kept himself close to me as he grabbed me by my shoulder and pushed me into the nearest wall. His face a view of desperation as he scoured me in a longing gaze. “Why are you doing this to me?” His jaw tightened as he quizzed in distress. I looked away from his eyes and down to the hands that were on my shoulder. “Get your hands off me!” I warned in a gentle tone. He dropped the hands, but circled his left one around my neck as he gently nudged his forehead into mine. His hot passionate breaths fanning into my face. “Haven’t you done enough?” His eyes closed as he sniffed in a long breath. “Fuck, I’m gonna go crazy.” His lips edged onto mine as he worked his way into my mouth.I stood there, dumbfounded like a

Chapter 19 Sebastian’s point of view I read through the article Donna shoved in my face and force me to go through to believe that Vivian was a liar and that she’s here with a motive. She badly wanted me to sack her, but all I’ve seen or read in here weren’t implicating enough. If anything, they just proved more truths to her words. That she was indeed rich and has everything until she go broke. I’m sure her family wouldn’t publish the decision they took to disown her so the family wouldn’t have a bad stain on them, and she on the other hand wouldn’t like the story out in the happen because of her shame. It’s pretty understandable to why it’s not known that she’s disown or broke. I’ll need more than articles to believe Donna over Vivian’s story. My phone buzzed, and a text came in. I dropped Donna’s phone for her so I could check out the text I received, it was the perfect distraction to be done with Donna’s trouble. I wonder why I’d prioritize my work over spending some time with you?” I wanted her to see the shade in this whole situation, how she’s a victim of a plot. She’d nodded alongside my words that I believed she has seen what I wanted her to see. “I didn’t even know. I thought it was because I refused your invitation because I wanted to surprise you with my presence instead, so I thought you were pissed that I refused and showed up unannounced.
