Chapter 30 Pain

Something shattered inside Kieth. Something broke free completely. Before he could understand anything, the darkness consumed his sight and he lost consciousness.

When Kieth woke up again, he found himself lying naked on the ground. Even stirring a little made him wince in pain. There was hardly any place on his body that didn’t hurt.

With difficulty, he turned around. Next to him was an equally naked Amelia. His pupils dilated with shock and despite the pain, he instinctively raised his fingers to check her breathing.

Though shallow, she was still breathing. Tracing the slightly heaving chest made him a little relieved. He looked around and found the motionless bodies of countless wolves.

Wolves? Something whipped past Kieth’s memory and the image of a pristine, white, humongous wolf jumped, taking the core. A faint headache bubbled inside his head.
