Maxwell froze and in an instant, Angelina got a glimpse of the old Maxwell—- the cold, frosty and aloof Maxwell she knows all too well. With a stoic expression on his face, he abruptly pulled out his hand from the Duke's and without giving the couple a second look, he hastily turned around and started storming away in the opposite direction, pulling a reluctant Angelina along with him.

But Dorothy Gallagher was determined. Forgetting all about decorum, she pulled her designer black dress up and ran as fast as her legs could carry her and didn't stop until she was standing right in front of Maxwell, effectively blocking his path. Then panting and heaving, she used both of her hands to grip one of his forearms tightly before speaking in an anxious tone,

"Please son, just spare us a minute, will you? We're just here to offer our condolences to you. So please give us a chance, chico. Please!"
