Athena paced back and forth to calm herself but no matter what she couldn't calm down herself. It was finally the day she would get married to Roman Morin. It's a simple wedding which is going to take place in a church. Besides, they had already applied for marriage registration and collected the certificate a few days back.
The traditional marriage rituals were to satisfy the old patriarch of the house.
Athena couldn't say she was too happy. The only thing she was anticipating from the marriage was the job in Morin Corporation. It was like a golden goose that would lay golden eggs for her at the end of every month.
She had already signed the contract which was sent by Roman and from thisday she would live with Roman in his apartment and that didn't make her feel better either.
She couldn't imagine living in a shady luxurious apartment with Snobbish Morin, even though he was her eye candy and she had a huge crush on him. But still, she preferred living in the Morin mansion with her beloved garden and magnolia plants.
Athena sighed! Her mind was running too wildly. In a few minutes, Henry Morin will come and take her through the aisle.
Just as the thought crossed her mind she heard heavy footsteps coming towards her. She hurriedly went in front of the mirror and took a last glance at her appearance.
She looked beautiful dressed in the long white gown which floated down from her waist to the anklet. It had a sweetheart neckline and the body was covered with thin nets and stones.
Her chestnut hair was put in an elegant bun with a few strands of hair falling out here and there. A long veil was put on the top of her bun while a diamond clip held it tightly on her hair.
She didn't put much makeup nor jewellery on. She had a simple pair of earrings and a diamond studs pendant.
"You look beautiful, Athena." Someone said from behind making her turn around in a swift motion. She put her hands on her chest and took a small breath of relief.
"Grandpa! You almost scared me." She said with a smile making Henry chuckle.
"By the way, thank you!" Athena thanked him for his previous compliment.
"For the compliment or for giving you, my grandson?" Henry asked with a wink making Athena blush red.
"For both." She answered, making Henry smile.
"Take care of my grandson. He's a bit stubborn and cold but he's good by heart. He has just stopped expressing himself from the day his parents died." Henry expressed his concern regarding his grandson, his voice was heavily filled with sadness.
Athena felt a bit bad seeing Henry upset. She quickly went towards him and pulled him in a hug.
"Don't worry, grandpa! I will take care of him and feed him healthy food every day." Athena tried to assure him in a serious tone before breaking the hug.
Henry chuckled at her words and nodded.
"I believe in you. Now let's go. Your groom is waiting for you." Henry said while holding his arms out for Athena. Athena smiled and nodded before taking his arms and following his pace. She slowly walked towards her fate which was yet to be known.

Athena slowly walked down the aisle of the church while holding Henry's arms. She could feel all the eyes on her. Around 10 or 15 people were present in the hall. She could see Emilia waving at her excitedly while Helen and Gabriel gave her a small smile.
Aunt Layla, Lexi and James were standing in the rows. She smiled at them and averted her eyes. Lastly, her eyes landed on her groom who was standing there with his three best men.
Elijah- His cousin.
Oliver- His best friend/ business partner
Ayden- His cousin from his mother's side.
Elijah looked at her coldly while Oliver grinned at her. Ayden on the other hand just nodded politely at her. Meanwhile, her groom had a stern expression plastered on his face as his blue eyes stared at her blankly. He was dressed in a blue suit and white shirt. His hair looked perfectly gelled. He looked well-groomed and devilishly handsome. Just looking at his handsome face made her heart skip a beat.
She could feel her heart beating faster. She slowly averted her eyes from him and looked down to hide her nervousness. Slowly they reached where Roman was standing as he came down and held his right arm forward to take her hands in his.
"Take care of her," Henry commanded in a soft voice as he gave Athena's hands in Roman's hand. Roman gripped Athena's hand lightly in his.
"Don't worry, grandpa! I will." He answered in a calm voice before helping Athena to get up on the stage. She could feel the tingling sensation all over her body by the mare touch of his hand. She didn't dare to look at his face as she stood in front of him while the priest started the ceremony,
Soon the wedding began and they took their Vows. Emilia brought the wedding ring and they exchanged the rings.
"Now I announce you as a lawfully wedded husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." The priest announced the last sentences making Athena look at Roman with nervous eyes.
"Don't kiss the bride," Athena whispered lightly so that only Roman could hear her. Roman looked at her and his cold face bloomed into a devilish smile before he held her waist and pulled her close to him.
"To seal the deal, I need to kiss the bride." He whispered in her ears before finally crashing his lips on her. Athena felt her body go numb and her heart went crazy the moment his lips touched hers.
After a soft kiss on the lips, he finally pulled away from her. Athena hid her face as she heard Oliver and Emilia cheer. She didn't know why she was behaving like a teenager but she couldn't help it.
Come on, Athena, Calm down! A wedding is incomplete without a kiss! She tried to assure herself before taking a deep breath. But the relief was short-lived when Roman leaned towards her and put his hands on her waist.
"Come on, let's go home, wife," Roman whispered in her ears slowly. Athena instantly took a step back from him and threw a glare in his direction which made him smirk devilishly at her.
The cat-mouse game has just begun!

Athena slowly followed Roman and entered his penthouse. It was a well-furnished and luxurious penthouse. Athena was very tired after the long wedding ceremony and wanted to go to her room and sleep as soon as possible. "Which one is my room?" Athena asked while yawning. She looked like a disaster with her hair looking like a bird's nest. Roman turned around and looked at her expressionlessly. "Upstairs, first room from the left," Roman answered in a casual voice making Athena nod. "Thanks. I will get going then. Good night Mr Morin." Athena said and greeted him a good night before making her way towards the staircase to go upstairs. "R
It was already lunchtime by the time Athena finished making half of the report. She yawned while stretching her body. Her back was aching from sitting too long in the same posture. The office room she was given was a nice one. It was comfortable and everything was well furnished. She was given a personal computer to work on. Athena took her phone out and checked the time. Time to have some lunch. Thinking of food, her stomach grumbled. She didn't eat anything since morning and was very hungry so she decided to take a break and go to eat something. She packed her bag and was about to go out when the telephone on her desk started to ring. She became startled for a moment. She slowly picked the phon
It was around 9 pm when Athena finally finished sending the last email. She was exhausted already so she quickly put her things in her bag and grabbed her phone from her desk before finally making her way out of her cabin. She was holding the printed files in one hand and her stuff in others as she made her way towards Roman's office. The whole floor was calm and silent as everyone had already left. She sighed, thinking when she would be able to go home and sleep. Meanwhile, busy in her thoughts she finally reached Roman's office and knocked two times as usual before entering. She closed the door behind her back and glanced at Roman who was going through some files. As usual, he didn't bother to look up so she cleared her throat to get his attention to which Roman finally looked up at and before putting the file aside.
It's been two weeks since Athena joined the Morin Corporation as Roman's joint Secretary. Also, it's been three weeks since she married Roman Morin legally after signing the prenuptial contract and agreed to be his hidden wife.In the past two weeks, Roman didn't let a single opportunity go to waste to exhaust her. He did everything to make her work hard starting from making her do every single chore. She made his coffee, arranged his schedule, brought him breakfast, lunch and dinner, sent emails, and brought gifts for his clients to impress them. Everything!Athena knew he was doing all those to make her quit but she wouldn't. Instead, she did everything without any mistakes. But alas she always finds a way to mock or insult her which makes her angrier day by day.
Around 30 minutes later they all reached the five-star hotel where the party was going to take place. In the whole journey from Bianca's house to the venue, Athena almost got a headache seeing how hard Bianca was trying to impress Roman. She couldn't help but frown watching how causally Bianca was trying to get close to Roman. On the other hand, Roman didn't seem interested in her at all.He behaved politely and kept his distance much to Bianca's protest.Back to the present, Kevin parked the car and got out of the car before rushing to open the door for Roman. Roman elegantly got out of the car and went to the other side to open the car door for Bianca like a gentleman. Kevin then came to Athena's side to open the door for her but she had alr
Athena looked at the man standing a few inches away from her with a scowl. She furrowed her brows while trying to process his words. When was she flirting? He was accusing her of something that she didn't do and it made her angry. She raised her eyes and looked directly at Roman was busy glaring at her. "Excuse me, what do you mean? I didn't flirt with anyone. I was just being polite with Mr Murphy." Athena finally snapped at him. "Really? But It didn't look like just talking to me. I'm warning you Athena if you try to do something like this again or do anything that harms my reputation then I won't play nice." Roman warned her directly. His voice was neutral while his face didn't sho
Athena quietly followed Roman into the tall building of The Morin Corporation. It was already past 9 in the evening so there weren't many people around. As they quietly made their way inside, the night guard came in their direction and greeted them politely. "Good evening, Sir and Madam. Is there any emergency?" The night guard asked simply. "Good evening, Rick. How are you? Yes, I need to collect some documents from my office." Roman greeted him back before answering his question. "I'm good. Thank you." The guard Rick answered while fixing the rifles or guns on his shoulder. As his eyes collided with Athena she passed him her usual sweet smile with a nod before twirling behind Roman while
"Good Morning, Athena! You are early today!" Rhea, the receptionist's warm voice filled Athena's ears as she hurriedly took her steps forward. She paused her steps and turned around to look at Rhea with a smile. The woman was as usual dressed in a pair of palazzo suits with her hair tucked in a perfect french bun. She was a charming young woman and many men from the company sought after her but too bad she was already engaged to her college's boyfriend. "Good morning, Rhea. Yes! Mr Morin and I are going to the newly bought company for a visit, that's why." Athena smiled. Rhea nodded. "Ahh! The Navy and Grey Corporation! Good luck then!" She beamed as she wished Athena good luck while showing her perfect pearly white teeth.
After coming back from the hotel, Athena went directly to her room before locking herself in. She wasn’t in the right state of mind to face anyone right now after all that happened. She just laid under her blanket, as she was too exhausted and brokenhearted. Each moment she remembered his harsh words and insults, she broke down into sobs. She had been crying since the morning, which made her eyes red and puffy. She never imagined the outcome of her action would turn out to be so severe. Her heart was aching so badly, making it hard for her to breathe properly. A discreet knock on the door caught her attention, making her glance at the door. She removed the comforter from her body while sitting up straight on the bed. “Who’s it?” She asked while quickly wiping away all traces of tears with the back of her palm. “It's me, Kevin, Mrs. Morin.” Athena heard Kevin’s reply from the other side of the door. She heaved a long sigh before quickly fixing her appearance to make herself presenta
The golden sunlight peeked inside the lavish hotel room through the small gap in the white curtains. Athena, who had just turned her body around while smuggling inside the white blanket, frowned when the light fell directly in her face. She let out a small groan while raising her palm a little to block the sudden source of light. She tried to open her eyes after blinking a few times to adjust to the lights. As she tried to move her body to stretch a little, she felt a little sore down there, making her instantly remember the deed she did last night. A small hint of blush crept on her face, making her clutch tighter to her chest. All of a sudden, she realised Roman wasn’t on the bed. She bit her lips while trying to peek into the other corner of the room, trying to see if he was present or not. It didn’t take her long enough to spot his tall figure standing at the entrance of the balcony, smoking some cigarettes. He looked like he had already taken a shower, as he was already dressed
Roman gently carried Anthea directly to the room before placing her naked body on the bed. As she fell back onto the bed, her hair spread all over the pillow, but it's those stunning pair of eyes that kept him enchanted. He could stare at those pair of green eyes and get lost forever. Athena was undoubtedly the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. He had been attracted to her since God knew when, yet he was too proud to admit it because of their differences in social status. He had been denying her for too long, all because of his pride. He hated to admit it, but he wanted her. He wanted her from the moment he realised how beautifully she had grown up and how attractive and sexy she had become with time. "I'm going to make you mine, Athena," he declared while his ocean blue eyes stared directly into her green ones. Athena felt weak in her knees as a sudden foreign feeling raised in the oit of her stomach. She looked at him in a daze as her whole body burned with fire and need. She
Roman let out a groan and tightened his grip on Athena's hair, his lips smashing down on hers with the same urgency she was feeling. She whimpered against his lips and opened herself for him, wanting and craving more. Every idea fled as her arms wrapped around his neck, his body pressing against hers. "Fuck," he mumbled against her lips before placing his hands around her waist. "You taste as sweet as the last time I tasted you." He pushed her up against the bathroom wall, and her legs wrapped around his hips as her dress fell open at the cut in her thigh. "So fucking sweet. Just like honey." Roman whispered between kisses while bringing her closer. As his hands moved over Athena's body, his touch was agitated and urgent. The way he swayed his hips while kissing her was driving her mad. Athena could immediately tell how much he wanted her, and the way he pushed up against her was magical. It's both too much and not enough at all. Athena began to pull down Roman's damp shirt, and h
Athena stared at the slightly closed door of the washroom with a worried expression on her face. She debated with herself whether she should go inside or not. He looked like he was in such pain, which made her heart clench in pain too. She wanted to call for help, or at least call Kevin. He might have some kind of solution. As she was about to turn around to walk away, she heard the shower running inside. The weather around here was already chilly, and he was taking a cold shower in this situation. What if he caught a cold or pneumonia? Athena's eyes widened in realization. She quickly turned around before walking in front of the washroom again. "Are you okay?" She called while lightly knocking on the door. However, there was no response except for the sound of water running. "You will catch a cold if you stand under the cold water for too long. It's not a good idea, Roman." She said it helplessly while starting at the wooden door. Still, there was no response from him, which made he
Athena sat beside Roman with a bored expression on her face. She looked mindlessly here and there, not being able to focus on anything. She started to hate those business parties. Before coming, she was anticipating the party but after coming, she regretted it. Those men around here were only talking about business, the stock market or other boring things. While the women were busy talking about fashion, designer dresses and jewellery or boyfriends. Athena was interested in none of that stuff. She was getting annoyed at Roman for forcing her to stay beside him. She had no job sitting there and staring at people's faces. Getting impatient, Athena poked Roman's arm making him turn around and face her. He raised one of his eyebrows, silently asking her to speak. "I'm bored. Can I go and look around?" Athena asked pitifully. Roman paused for a moment before looking around for a few seconds. He then leaned forward towards her."Don't go wandering around. You can try some snacks from the
It's been three days already and their business in Montreal was half done. They signed the deal yesterday so their business partners decided to throw a gala in their honour. Which would take place tonight. Surprisingly in the last three days, she didn't have much hard time working and staying with Roman. They pretty much behaved how they used to behave while living in their penthouse in Vancouver. Everyone was busy with their professional tasks and didn't get much time to chit-chat. Natalie surprisingly acted quite calmly while they were around their business partners which also surprised Athena. Currently, Athena was getting ready for the party. She had around two hours left till Roman came knocking on her door. Athena sighed lazily while looking through her dresses. She had a few dresses with her, mostly those Eleana sent her. Athena picked up a green dress that matched her eyes' colour. She put the dress aside before starting to do her hair. She put her hair in an elegant bun with
"Stay away from him." He leaned forward and whispered coldly in her ears. She turned her head to look at him and this made their noses touch. Athena's eyes went wide as she stared at Roman who at the same time stared at her, his eyes already turned intense. "What do you mean?" She whispered back looking into his eyes. Her traitor eyes roamed his face and then fixed on his soft pink lips which looked quite tempting. Athena almost shook her head and leaned her body backwards while creating some distance between them. She looked around to see if anyone noticed them but fortunately, everyone was busy minding their own business. She sighed in relief. Roman who had been looking at her the whole time also drew back his body on his seat lazily. His eyes roamed her open arms and the huge portion of cleavage which was showing through the loose spaghetti top because of her slightly bending down her body. "Whatever you heard. I don't want you to get close to him by any means." He didn't beat
Athena sat quietly in the luxurious private jet while looking outside through the jet's window. Looking at the white clouds and blue sky, her heart felt calm. Beside her sitting quietly was Kevin. Athena had her headphones plugged in while she listened to some soft music to block her ears from the unwanted sweet talks and giggles. It was the day they were flying to Montreal, Quebec. Unfortunate for Athena as she thought they were flying to Quebec city. Currently, there were seven people in the private jet excluding the two pilots and the two flight attendants. Roman was sitting with Natalie Smith while Kevin and she sat together across them. Behind Roman and Natalie were Oliver Reid, Roman's best friend and business partner and Jared Smith, Smith Corporation's CFO and Natalie's elder cousin. Mia, Jared Smith's secretary, sat alone behind Athena. While choosing seats Athena deliberately sat beside Kevin because he was the only one in the whole jet with whom Athena was acquainted bes
