I frowned immediately, lowering my head at the scare and trying to breathe again. My limbs had gone weak and I now placed a hand over my heart trying to keep it steady.

"Did I scare you?"

"What the heck do you think?" I suddenly yelled in his face and he recoiled, startled by my outburst and soon he was reaching for my face.

"That's why you're crying?"

I sniffed, pushing his hand off and wiping the pathetic tears that rolled down my eyes. That wasn't funny one bit. I had a stalker on my ass and he thought it was funny to pull a prank like that.

I almost died from trying to escape that bodyguard. I'll die again when I get back home and have to face Oliver's tantrum-- God! He nagged like a bitch sometimes.

Don't do this, don't do that, come here, go there, stay here, you can't leave-- ugh! I've had it with him!

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to trigger you," he apologised, sounding sincere as he gazed at me with kind eyes and now I felt like I had overreacted.

I sighed as I w

REBECCA We took a long ride up and down the mountain. The wind in my hair, arms around his waist, I stared at the scenery with a refreshing feeling in my chest. I suddenly felt like a bird let out of a cage and I wanted to fly. He was one mean biker with a strong grip and large hands that I couldn't stop staring at. He wanted to get to know me? Everything about me was a mess at the moment. There was nothing intriguing except the troubles I was in, but of course, he would find that interesting, he was a detective after all. Crime was his forte and what did I have behind me? A case that needed solving, maybe, and an old man to get off my back. He drove down to a different part of town that I had never been to before, luckily Oliver hasn't too so he would never think to find me here. Theo pulled over at a small coffee shop and when I got down from the bike, my legs wobbled. He grabbed my wrist quickly to hold me steady, "Easy there. Are you good now?" "I think so," I looked around

OLIVER "I'm sorry, sir. I lost her. She just hopped on a bike. She deceived me. I'm really sorry, Mr. Wright--" I hung up, sighing as I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to relieve myself and freshen up. Today was supposed to be a day off and I always just spent the day with Rebecca since I could put a call across to her office to make sure she could skip a day or two. I walked down the stairs heading to the kitchen to get a snack before pulling out my phone again to scroll down the familiar app. The front door suddenly opened and Victor was walking in, white sleeves rolled up, tie crooked on his neck and his hair hanging from different sides. I munched down on my cereal as he stormed closer with a document and he slammed it on the table. "She's missing. Her phone is out of coverage. Whoever she's with turned it off and.. and..." His brows wrinkled as he glanced down at my plate. "You're eating cereal." "Join me?" I grabbed the pack and gently shook it. "There's milk in

OLIVER "But," I rolled down my sleeves and flashed him a little grin, "I could just be assuming he's here for revenge." Victor still looked like he needed some time to process what I'd just told him. His face was pale and he battled with confusion. "Let's go to the office, Victor," getting down to work would be a good distraction until she decided to return home. What would she like for dinner? Maybe I should prepare Lucia's favourite meal for her. She had always liked that and always jumped around asking her mother to make some. "What if he's out for revenge against your grandfather?" He suddenly asked. "What if...?" "Then that makes him a friend of a common enemy. We could use him for our own gain, of course." I liked his thoughts, so evil, but, "No. We already have our hands full. I'm not about to pull along a clueless detective with nothing but a raging hard-on in his pants and a thirst for revenge which is now starting to look like lust." Those words came out harsher th

REBECCAI stepped back, allowing his hand to hang in the air, my face tingling from his earlier touch and I sucked my lower lip between my teeth as his words were a dull reminder of Oliver's proposal. Why did everyone think I needed saving? When did I turn into a sorry case-- goodness me! I can't stand these men thinking they could just offer a hand and I'd take it."I won't be the case for your promotion, Detective Theo," I said harshly, glaring at him as his eyes danced with a dash of amusement. He suddenly laughed, shaking his head softly , paused in between and laughed again like I was tickling his ribs."I mean it, Theo. If this is what this is about, then take me back to the hospital right now.""Calm down, Rebecca. It must be tiring always jumping to conclusions."I turned my face away and would have stormed off if I knew the way back but apparently I was stuck here with him.But I still got up in an attempt to walk out to get some fresh air when he grabbed my wrist."Let go."

REBECCA I haven't had a normal day in years. I'm not looking forward to seeing my pictures on blogs with insults in the comment section, I'm not bothered about the press taking pictures somewhere. I felt very different with Theo. Besides his questioning, of course, and his words from earlier about Oliver's grandfather that made me a little uncomfortable-- okay, maybe not uncomfortable but anxious and worried, I tried to enjoy the rest of my day. He dropped me back at the hospital by 6 and I waved him goodbye before looking up at the building with a sinking feeling. I turned on my phone first, gulped before walking in. Visiting hours would be over in thirty minutes but I wanted to at least kiss my mother goodbye before Oliver would unleash hell on me. How long would he lock me away for this time? Three months? If I'm lucky, I scoffed. I tried to imagine his reaction but even my imagination did no justice to what I was going to face. He'd scream, no doubt, then threaten me like I

REBECCA I followed after him and got in his car, keeping my eyes down, afraid to be seen by anyone. It was a pretty short drive-- too short for us to get home so soon. I looked out the window and saw we had stopped by a restaurant- He started to get down from the car. "W-Wait! What are we doing here?" I asked in fear but his silence rang volumes. "I'm not hungry-" "Get down, Rebecca." He knew I shouldn't be seen with him in public. It'll only start the rumours again. I couldn't allow myself to be dragged into that messed up situation anymore. The press had been silent for days now. "Please, let's just go home. I'll cook dinner-" "That offer ended when I called your damn phone over and over," he looked behind his shoulders, narrowing his eyes. "Get down. Now." He was trying to punish me in one of the ways I feared the most. "Please," I tried again. "At least give me something to cover my face with. I can't…" The horror was playing right before my eyes, the headlines, the pre

REBECCA "Excuse me?" What the heck did he mean by strip? What did he think this was? I looked around again, making sure no one else heard his ridiculous request. I turned back to meet Oliver's serious stare and I searched his eyes. He's not kidding. That only fuels me with so much anger that I'm shaking in my seats. "I don't trust you anymore," he announced. "You ran off with a man-" Ran off? "I'm here, aren’t I?" I threw back his favourite word. "I just went out for a little fresh air-" "You had all the air you needed back at home and at that hospital with your mother. We agreed you were going to stay put-" "Agreed? I didn't say anything about being locked up against my will," I yelled. "Don't go about concluding shit-" "We're still bound by a contract and you will do everything I tell you-" My jaw hung loose. It stung each and every time to be reminded of that and I hated how I felt after. He always resorted to that as his last blow. "Are you commanding me as my boss…?" That

OLIVER She was terrified, shaking on the floor next to me. She had no idea how fuckable she looked right now and I'd be damned if I put my hands on her but how long could I grip the spoon so tight? "Get up, get dressed, have dinner, let's--" her small hands gripped my thigh and the rest of my words suddenly disappeared. With tears in her eyes, she looked at me , begging for it. Her hand didn't just stay there, they moved, going to my inner thigh and slowly moving up to where it throbbed hard and needed inside her like right now. She swallowed hard, stroking my dick over my pants, gripping it hard just the way I liked it. When her tongue darted across her lips, coating it with spit, I imagined her lush lips wrapped firmly around my cock as I fucked her face till she gagged and tears rolled down her eyes. "On your feet, Rebecca," I growled, battling with myself. As much as she tried to show me she was offering, I could see the trouble in her eyes. She didn't want this as much as she

REBECCAI put the coffee on the table and looked around.Where was Victor? He called me a few minutes ago that he'd be here.I glanced at the time. It was a few minutes past 6pm. and I had to rush to the grocery store to get groceries for dinner. Mom already sent me a list of things she would need.My phone rang and I quickly picked it up, "Hey, Tania.""Hey, girl. How are you doing?""I'm alright. Just waiting for Victor to show up so I can get home and get some sleep.""That assistant guy? What's he doing over there?" she wondered."He's here on a business trip and he's supposed to give me some documents to sign. Some kind of shares split." Oliver had a big part of Arthur's and my father's share and now he was transferring it back.Well… some."You're splitting it?""He is the adopted son of Arthur and should have Arthur's share.""Didn't they both decide to give it to you?""That was before Oliver came into the picture. Besides, I can't just take it all. He's worked hard for that c

REBECCA:FEW MONTHS LATERI grabbed my coat off the hanger by the side of the door and threw it on, wore my boots and grabbed my bag pack. Gently and quietly, I tried to open the door-"Rebecca Hoffman, you come back here, right now!" my mother screamed from behind me and I yelped, turned around with a racing heart to find her glaring at me. She was still in her pyjamas and had on her hair net."Jesus, Mom! It's 8am. and we have neighbours," I tried to remind her but she only stormed towards me with her face in a pout and grabbed my hands."You're not leaving without breakfast, now sit!" She pulled me to a stool in the kitchen and she took out some pots."I'm going to run late," I whined. "I have class in about an hour and that professor is as strict as they come.""I'll come beat him up if you want."I rolled my eyes as she tried to make something simple and light while I drummed my fingers on the table. I pulled off my jacket and laid it to rest on the counter and scrolled through m

REBECCA"Is that why your mother is heavily guarded?" I wondered, making sense of it now as I took a step closer to him. "You've been associated with him. You used me-"He shook his head-"Say something," anything but of what use was it when the evidence stared me right in the face? He couldn't deny it. Not after what I've heard so clearly."I didn't…" he trailed off. "I didn’t use you… in the beginning, yes, I approached you because I was-""Oh my God!" I gasped and sobbed as the tears spilled over."But that was until I got to know you-""Yadda, yadda, yadda," Richard dismissed. "It's the same damn thing. You used her because she was close to Oliver and wanted to get closer to me. Well congratulations, it worked. You must be pleased with yourself now.""You know, the cops are fortunate to have you. Why don't you come work for me? I'll double-- no, triple your salary and we could start with you getting rid of that boy, Oliver for me. He's my adoptive grandchild and I can do whatever

  • The CEO's Forever Pet   120. Don't talk to her

REBECCAI stared at Theo in shock as the old man looked beyond pleased staring at him. Betrayed yet again? By everyone surrounding my life. I was betrayed by the one I thought would have my back."Why…?" I trailed off. I couldn't even cry or feel sorry for myself this time. "I trusted you-""You trust the wrong people," the old man said. "I tried to extend a genuine hand to help you but what did you do? You decided to bite a good hand. How does it taste now?" he glared at me but still had that look of triumph because he was clearly enjoying himself and his victory.I failed.Right at the edge of a breakthrough… I… "Why?" I screamed at him and Sophia gasped. I was immediately reminded that the two were still here and now they clung to each other as they trembled in fear."I can't believe I missed this spot," he sighed. "I searched for years and years for this yet you two idiots had this lying under your shop? Do you know what these are!" he screamed at them, instilling more fear and th

REBECCAMy father sure made a fool out of these people for fifteen whole years."Are you sure we're in the right place?" Theo asked again, refusing to believe his eyes and I looked at the picture my mother had confirmed."Yes," it was a coffee shop facing the Wright Company. How interesting was it that they all passed the place every day for fifteen years yet not one of them thought to come here to check."Wow. Okay. Let’s go in and order coffee? Or how does this work?" I looked at the key again and all that was on it was just numbers. "I guess we'll have to go in and find out." I opened the door and stepped out.We walked in together, and we walked right onto the front. The young woman behind the counter smiled, "Hello-" her eyes widened in realisation when she saw me but she was nice enough to shut her mouth and go straight to business. "What would you like to order?""Can I see the manager please?"She arched her brows, "Uhm… may I know why? Do you have a complaint? You can relay

REBECCA"Are you sure?" Theo asked over the phone and I shut the door and turned in the lock."Positive. I heard her discussing with Oliver while I was at his place then saw her pick it up from the ground."How could she have kept something like that away from me? She knew how much I was worried about her. I wanted to leave this damn country and the only reason we stayed back was because of her.I felt betrayed and this one hurt more than anything."Calm down. You're breathing too hard.""I can't help it. She betrayed me-""I'm sure she has her reasons. She wouldn't do that to you-"I tried to tell myself that but it sounded like a big fat lie and I didn’t want to delude myself. How could she trust Oliver more than me, her own daughter? After everything…"I'm gonna steal it," I whispered."What?""I need to know what's in that warehouse and I can't trust the fucking police. • The CEO's Forever Pet   117. Betrayed

REBECCAFrom the front door as I walked into the house to the living room where we used to watch movies and have little date nights, tears filled my eyes as I looked around. I trailed my fingers over the counter top in the kitchen and memories of when he once made my mother's favourite soup waltzed back in my head and I couldn't stop the tears from rolling down. This used to be a home once.Oliver and I were so comfortable around each other that we felt married. Or at least, I had felt that way. Clearly it was a delusion but it was everything to me at one point.I loved waking up to Saturday mornings where he would cook breakfast while I watched sometimes or he served me in bed. Where we both decorated with our favourite colours blending into something beautiful.Oh, I had dreams and he had orchestrated every single one of them. Whether he truly loved me or not, I would never know. Not like I even wanted to anymore. I was calling it quits.I climbed the stairs, remembering how he once

REBECCA I've been bedridden for a few days. I took the rest of my exams online with a supervisor assigned to me. It went smoothly despite the chaos of a few days but I didn't want anything to weigh me down.If I wasn't reading, I caught myself staring into space, thinking of my child and how he managed to survive.“I guess this one is really stubborn, isn't he?” I thought to myself. Just like his damn daddy. At least that was one way to know the baby was Oliver's.Despite seeing my condition, he still kept his mouth shut. Most nights I woke up from a nightmare, screaming the house down. It was always the same scene, only this time instead of the strange man who stabbed me, it was Oliver's grandfather while I watched Oliver stand at a distance with either his sealed or he rendered endless apologies instead.I was sick of hearing him apologise. I was tired of it. It burned in my memory and now whenever I thought about him, it was always about him saying sorry.Funny how he used to do f

OLIVER I was sent with a mission; to poison the Hoffman's down to their little girl. The old man was heartless but what did I care, it was a chance to be accepted and not to be thrown out to the streets once more. But that night, I picked up all my stuff and chose to run away for their own safety.I'd go to a river somewhere and drown because returning to the orphanage would only put the other kids in trouble and I didn't want to cause more trouble for anyone.A black van pulled up to me and I wasn't surprised to see my father's men. One of them grabbed me before I could bolt.“Pay up,” they said, one to the other. “I told you he couldn't do it.”“Look at him. He's a desperate little thing with no guts. You can't live a good life by being weak, you imbecile!” they smacked my head and tossed me about, laughing as they had fun.“I'll call them that I have the boy,” one of them said and took out his phone-“No!” I tried to reach for it but I was knocked down before I even knew what hit
