Ezrah pulled Zora closer and stared at Rush. “It better be important, or you’ll pay heavily for wasting my time.” Rush smiled and requested of Ezrah.

“You have to thank me.”

“For what?” Ezrah asked with a frown. Rush responded, “for keeping men away from her when you two were divorced.”

Ezrah recalled the investigation he made on Rush. He had been so obsessed with Zora because of Odette, using fair or foul means to keep men away from her, which indeed made it quite easy for Ezrah’s return.

“Thank you then,” Ezrah said honestly. Rush smiled, lifting his head proudly but was soon brought down from his high horse.

“You should also thank Ezrah for locating and bringing us back together,” Odette said behind Rush. He shook his head, speaking apologetically.
