Nathaniel stepped into the elevator and clicked on the twelfth floor. This was where he lived in that crusty old apartment with Regina White, his fiancee.
Regina had been his old-time girlfriend, a travelling journalist but with her high maintenance, considering how much she spent on designer clothes and makeup wouldn’t pay the bills. He had mortgaged some old properties from his parents, his inheritance so they could buy a bigger home.
Right now, the apartment they lived in belonged to her stepbrother, Sirius White. He didn’t know much about her brother other than that his mother was dead and his father married her mother. Her decision to take on her stepfather’s surname was a conscious one that she made in order to cut ties with her irresponsible biological father, also a gambler.
Nathaniel and Regina had been high-school sweethearts. They had never quarrelled, never broken up, or even disagreed about anything in life. As a result, everyone regarded them as the ‘model couple’ back in school. He distinctly remembered their little affairs back in the sciences laboratory after classes. He hadn’t had her for the first time, but she was the first girl he had ever dated and loved. His first.
So, when he saw the stain on the sheets after waking up with that bossy yet sexy female client, he felt a totally unfamiliar feeling. The glorious feeling of having won the first prize, yet only got to hold the trophy for a few seconds.
He needed to have more of it!
But this was life, after all. He had to get home to Regina. The reasons for him becoming a gigolo was because of her lavish spendings. As a man, it was his duty to take care of his wife, her mother had said. And he had to, because he loved her!
No matter what, he would never allow circumstances to lead to her finding out about his new ‘career’! He didn’t know how she would react if she ever found out. She might even kick him out of the apartment, or even send her parents’ dogs after him. Nat feared dogs.
The client today had just asked him to be her dance partner. Fortunately, he didn't have to expose his body to her, otherwise the aftermath of last night’s adventure would have been revealed. He was relieved.
As the elevator ascended to the twelfth floor, he glanced quickly at his phone screen. Two apparent purple ticks appeared next to the wealthy client’s name.
He originally thought for someone that rich, she wouldn’t allow him to threaten her with proof of their adventure.
But now she had purple-ticked him! Was she not concerned about her reputation? Or was she that open-minded?
Wait, she had been a virgin. He should have brought the sheets home as a memoir of what he had experienced. It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
The door of the lift opened and he strode towards the apartment unit that he shared with Regina. As he expected, Regina was there, relaxing on the couch and watching her favourite sitcom. Her long blond hair was rolled up in a shower cap and she was wearing a bathrobe. As usual, she had made great efforts to care for her hair.
A sparkle over her flawless skin also informed him that she had not forgotten her skincare, either. His eyes wandered over to her figure. Just then, he remembered the wealthy woman’s naked body again and stopped dead in his tracks.
Something in his mind made him feel the woman was unforgettable. But he didn’t know what it was, or why it distracted him while he had his eyes on Regina.
Surely, he wasn’t going to cheat on Regina emotionally?
He knew what he was doing already by serving those women was already cheating, but there was a bigger worry in his mind. He was way more terrified of her finding out about his retrenchment than for him to feel burdened by his cheating.
There were plenty of ways to make it up to her in the future, but what she didn’t know wouldn’t kill her. It was all for a better purpose. Knowing how independent she was, they wouldn’t be able to afford the bills by relying on what Regina earned as a journalist.
Furthermore, they were so young. He was twenty-six and Regina was twenty-three. There were more opportunities for him to find employment in the future.
“Hey, Reg.”
Regina looked up when he approached the sofa. She looked up and smiled at him. He found her still so adorable, with her round eyes and tiny nose. She had thin, kissable lips and an hourglass figure. In comparison with the wealthy client, she was like a teenager.
Darn. He needed to wipe the wealthy woman’s image out of his mind, or it would bother him all day.
“Hi, Nat. How’s work today?”
He had heard those words from Regina over the phone too often for him to hesitate with his lies.
“It’s been tiring.” This wasn’t a lie. His body ached after what happened last night. But of course, he had to make it sound realistic.
“We had tender documents to submit to the government. They were building a new security building.”
He hadn’t told her how he had been retrenched from AD Systems as a senior sales representative. He had worked in that company for about three years before that fateful day of receiving the notice from AD’s human resources department. He could remember vividly the contents of the letter.
It had clearly detailed all his responsibilities and how he had failed to meet KPIs. But the main reason for his retrenchment was apparently stated. They were rolling a new system in, and they wanted to cut those low-performers.
He had just missed his quota by a small figure. He blamed the CEO, who he never met, to be heartless and money-minded. Like everyone else, he was a human, he had parents and he had bills to pay! If not for his retrenchment, would he have ended up in this state?
Speaking of that CEO, she seemed to be a low-profile person and only the higher-ups had ever seen her. He imagined that she was an ugly witch who no man would ever take a fancy to. Although he wasn’t sure, these thoughts actually made him feel a lot better.
“That’s nice. Why don’t you sit down?” She waved her perfect fingers and signalled for him to take the space beside her on the sofa. He obliged and sat down. Was there something she wanted to discuss with him? Her messages had sounded urgent.
“Actually, I wanted to talk to you about our future plans.”
As they were engaged, it sounded proper that she was talking about their future. If only he had a good paying job now, it would be ample for him to provide for her. Then she wouldn’t have to keep going overseas for work. Settling down with Regina had always been his dream.
He didn’t expect it all to turn this way, but he adapted quickly. What he earned now in a night was equivalent to his half-month’s pay as a sales executive, excluding commission.
“Are you referring to our marriage?” He asked, looking sympathetically at his fiancee. “I know, your career is important to you, and I don’t mind waiting a few more years. After all, we are both so young. I respect your decision.”
“Which is why I came back early today,” Regina announced with an engaging smile. “I want to talk about our future plans, because I decided to do the right thing.”
“The right thing?” he repeated after her, confused.
“Yes, the right thing. I know it’s been difficult for us to maintain our long-distance relationship, when I’m just in Neon for five days in three months. Which is why I made the ultimate decision.”
She added sweetly, “Darling, I resigned.”
Back in her office, Alyssa straightened her wig and switched on the notebook in front of her. The Sunday was over and she had a good night’s rest. Now, it was time for her to return to action after recharging. She took her rimmed spectacles out of its case and placed them on her nose. There was a knock on the door.“Come in,” she said in a confident voice. It turned out to be Joyce Dean, head of human resources. Joyce had recently taken on the position. Alyssa only dealt with head of departments, and rarely did regular employees have a chance to see her face to face.“What’s up?” she looked domineeringly towards the woman. Joyce seemed like a frightened mouse seeing a cat. Apparently, she had this effect on Jo
"George, how much longer do we have to do this?"Nathaniel couldn't keep up with his best friend's plan. He was anxious about the meeting later, although he was assured that the rich female would go along with his game.Suddenly, he received a call from George, who wanted him to join him in a strike against AD Systems, where they had both been retrenched three months ago. Like him, George could not secure a new job with other companies. George was a nerd and a hilarious sidekick. They had gone through a lot together in their short tenure with the company.Unlike Nat whose craftiness led him to have an edge over the older wealthy women he provided his services to, George was humble and honest. But today, for George to insist on a strike against the company was completely beyond Nat. He wouldn't say anything to defame the company and neither would he employ his wondrous techniques to hack into the company's systems to get his well-deserved revenge. Nat couldn't get what was on his best
Waiting in the vacant hotel room actually put Alyssa Dawson in more suspense than ever. She had discarded her no-nonsense CEO disguise and reverted to her lusty self. Fifteen more minutes. Her wolf Aria was restless and so was she. She couldn’t wait until that idiot came, and then-And then- The words were jammed in her mind. While she was figuring out how she should punish the man for daring to blackmail her, she suddenly sensed Aria’s presence. She then realised Aria was speaking to her. “You and him already have a bond.”“What do you mean, a bond?” She mentally conversed with her wolf. “He’s just this one-night-stand I paid to relieve me of my virginity!”“And then what happened? Are you in denial?”“Me, in denial?”“You know what you’re thinking. We need him.”Need? Alyssa huffed. She needed a man? Over her dead body!“Alyssa, don’t you remember what happened that night? Think carefully,” she heard Aria’s calm voice speaking from within her. She fidgeted with her hair and her he
“Satisfying?”Nat grinned cheekily. The woman under him writhed and attempted to pull away, but he saw her fail miserably. That, he attributed to his handsome self that made the elder clients fawn over him, but with Miss Wealthy, it was a different scenario. She was the first woman who had even traded her virginity for a night of passion, and even paid him handsomely for it. Best of all, she appeared to be single and had more money than she even needed. The perfect client.Be her exclusive gigolo? Those words were music to his ears. But he could earn way more than what he asked of her, if it even bothered him to. The fact Regina was back and that he had markings he had to make significant efforts to keep hidden, made this not an option. Instead, her offer was tempting. He observed her bright red silky locks, followed by her smooth, flawless skin and the roundness of her bottom. This was a sight he would never get bored with watching, even for a hundred years. He thought of the times
“Uh, that was wild.”They stared at the broken desk in front of them. The wood had split right in the middle and scattered the items originally placed on top of it over the floor. The drinking glasses had shattered into a dozen fragments, and the room was now in such a disorderly state.Nathaniel hadn’t asked what happened. He looked confused, but he remained nonchalant. He remained where he was standing, rooted to the ground.Alyssa just straightened her dishevelled hair and strode over to the sofa without bothering to say a word. She knew he was watching her and how cool she was after that wolf-howl and one of the wildest sexcapades she ever had. He was what she called her first experience with a man, and it would not be her last. Now that he was exclusive to her, she would summon him whenever and wherever she wanted.Aria’s restlessness told her the bond wasn’t that simple. She gravely told Alyssa that they needed the man, regardless of who he was, and that their bond was crucial t
After the fast humping, Nathaniel headed back home, assured that he had done a great job with Ari Donna. Fortunately, his home wasn’t too far away from the Sky Gardens Hotels. His decade-old boxy Buchmeyer salon car slowed down at the traffic light just outside their shared apartment. He heard his phone ring, and when he answered, he almost flew into a panic. It wasn’t like Regina to be so panicky. Something wasn’t right. It had to be. Regina couldn’t even pronounce a single word properly. Her pulse was racing so hard that it made him worry. What the heck was going on? “I’ll be there in a jiffy.” He ended the call without waiting for her to answer. If he knew, he would have rushed over immediately. But Ari Donna’s hot curves and tight hole were more than he could wish for. If only he could have more. But one night out with her was just too much for him to handle. She was just as lusty as she was fascinating, and he wondered what was the secret to getting her wrapped around his finger
Spending the rest of the day with Regina turned out not as bad as he thought. Albeit that the connection between them was missing, the silence was rather relaxing. It took the weight of everything off his shoulders.Regina crossed her legs as she sat on the sofa in the living room reading. He noticed that she cut her hair short, and had straightened her hair with a curling iron. She wore a long summer dress that covered her knees, one he had not noticed her wear before. The chiffon material was sheer to begin with, and left nothing to the imagination. With their years of being together, he knew all her likes and dislikes. When she was lounging at home, she didn’t like wearing bulky clothes or tight undergarments. The scene before him reminded him of the conversation they shared just before she departed on her last trip.“I won’t be long this time.”He had his hands on her hips and leaned against her in a very close angle. “I can’t wait to have you.”But soon afterwards, she was on he
Thursday“So, are you going to say anything?”Nathaniel looked up from his plate when Regina confronted him. Thinking back, it would have been a good Tuesday night if not for all this endless questioning by her. What he originally figured was a blessing to have in her, turned out to be such a pain in the arse. Instead of being the solution to their long-distance relationship issues, it just made her a liability. She would harass him over trivial issues or even demand where he had gone after work.In the past, he would hold on for love, but right now, he had other considerations. He didn’t like the idea of her distrusting him or interrogating him like a criminal. But, aside from these issues with Regina White, there was something bothering him greatly. His exclusive client hadn’t made any calls nor sent him any messages. Though he had only seen her once after their initial encounter, he didn’t expect that she would have given him the cold shoulder so quickly! Those marks on his shoulde
Sirius was gone now and that left the two of them to do whatever they wanted for the rest of the day.Alyssa ignored her buzzing cellphone and clicked on the camera to take a selfie of herself and Nat in their perfect disguises.“Erm…” She looked at Nat shyly, unsure of how to break the ice. They had spent the night together at a hotel and had kinky sex in a dressing room, but the fact was that he was going to be her secretary the next day and she wasn’t sure of who they were other than their intense sexual attraction. [I want to know…]Before she could speak out her thoughts, she was interrupted by a fearless youth who rollerbladed past them, barely missing her by inches. A quick reaction from Nat gathered her quickly into his arms. She soon found herself blushing from the sudden proximity. He pulled her closer to her, cornering her with his deep and sensual eyes. These eyes claimed her soul during so many events. She blushed harder as she thought of their hanky-panky earlier, and
“Ally?”Nat’s gaze followed the direction where Ally’s eyes were. He scanned the crowds, completely in doubt about who Ally had seen when his eyes stopped on the target, and immediately he too was shocked.“We should go!” He shouted and without giving Ally any time to comprehend, hurried in the opposite direction, dragging along the confused woman. They hadn’t run for long when he stopped just outside a boutique store.“Disguises,” he smiled. At first thought, Ally figured she wasn’t into such commoners’ trappings, but she later went with his idea, because it allowed her a moment for them to be alone together while hiding from the person she hated very much – Sirius Black.Nat picked out two matching disguises, a set of male and female attire with a trendy cap, common-looking tees and pants, more sporty than fashionable, to normalise themselves within the crowd. She reached for her card wallet, intending to swipe her unlimited maximum black premium ladies’ card – only to spot a “Cash
Compared to before, George appeared to have some added muscle mass. The two men stared at each other until some time had passed, almost forgetting the tray of food. “You’re working here?” Nat arrived at his senses, asking the first thing that was on his mind. Fate hadn’t been merciful to George, and unlike Nat who resorted to becoming a gigolo, George had much more pride in himself to go to such extremes for the sake of money. A deliveryman, a tutor, a server and now a bellboy were the odd jobs he would take on to pay his bills.“And you…” George began. Nat anticipated what he had on his mind. He was probably going to call him out. But instead, he cleared his throat, “Where have you been these days, man? I’ve not even seen your shadow!”Nat was relieved. He took the tray firmly from his good friend’s hands and placed it on the low table in the hotel suite. “I’ll explain it to you another time. But for now, you should get back to your job.”“My shift is over,” George said with a wide
“Good morning.” A man’s voice entered her ears. Alyssa opened her eyes wearily and gazed intimately into the seductive brown eyes of the man who was in bed with her.“Good morning.” She sat up and flipped her red locks confidently. “Shouldn’t you get going?”Nathaniel just chuckled. “What if I can’t get enough of what I just woke up to?” His words invoked an annoyed glare from her. “It’s morning already. Don’t you think you should be going now?” “Maybe not.” He leaned his head forward, catching her without her realising with a sudden kiss that made her entire body burn. She tried to hide her redness, but his touch was just too strong. She craved him even more. “Just a few minutes,” he whispered as he slid his entire length inside her. She moaned furiously, thrashing on the sheets as she felt her wolf coming into action. She just answered her call of nature. Images danced before her, though she couldn’t make them out clearly. Rather than answering the confused questions she had abou
The venue where Alyssa was meeting her potential secretary was a hotel she found vaguely familiar. Although, her partial memory loss limited her from remembering everything. Starting from that man, Nathaniel Underwood, who left her wondering if she had a past with him.At the same time, she felt suspicious that a man she didn’t recognise had invited her to a hotel, but after the steamy encounter earlier, it didn’t sound that bad that they were seeing each other in secret. If he did, however, do anything that proved dangerous to her, she wouldn’t hesitate to tear him apart with her sharp claws, a move that was often fatal. She wasn’t raised as a werewolf and kept her identity hidden carefully all these years in the hopes of getting her vengeance. A man like Nathaniel who seemed to know so much about her was a threat to having her cover blown, and she didn’t want her bigger plans botched. Not when she was close to finding out about the White Fang Pack, who exterminated her pack and kill
It felt like he was sucking out her soul. No man had ever had that effect on her, but she also never allowed anyone so close to her that he could kiss her and do whatever he liked to her. Something about this man made him different from others. Even Ricky Henderson whose relationship with her went way back gave her a null reaction. But this man, he had just appeared in her life and told her she had retrenched him, over hundreds or maybe thousands of non-performers and low performers who she didn’t remember. She admitted, maybe at that time she had made that decision in the heat of the moment, as her advocate told her, but for him to come back with a sensual revenge was something she didn’t believe he would succeed in easily. On the other hand, it was how her wolf Aria was crazy about him, that she was concerned about. She just needed to find out who he was, although his presence didn’t ring a bell in her mind. “I’ll think it over, and give you the answer tonight,” she said after she
He didn’t dare think of that day when she found out how he was having sex with Alyssa or slept with women for the sake of their finances. In her eyes, she couldn’t accept cheating and polygamy. Because her father cheated on her mother and rejected her mother, leading her mother to find a second chance mate in Sirius White’s father, who had just lost his wife. In Regina’s eyes, the crime was unforgivable! She might even hate him for life.He had originally intended to keep the truth from her until she was ready to hear that he had fallen out of love with her and her true mate might be around the corner!Outside the hospital room, Regina smiled deviously as she walked past the room opposite, where a young woman was declared to have temporary retrograde amnesia. It seemed everything was going well according to her plan.…………………………………………………….Part 2When Alyssa woke up again, it was just another day for her. It was like she had woken up from a long dream. She was back home. A woman had se
No, Ally, no…. It can’t be…Nathaniel’s eyes gaped with horror. Alyssa’s pulse was irregular and their connection seemed unstable. Earlier, he had even valued her softness over her normally bossy self. It then dawned upon him, that a tiger didn’t normally change its spots. She must have been through something that changed her character totally, but just what? When Alyssa didn’t respond to him, Nat raced out of the room and knocked as hard as he could on Wisteria’s door. A joyous event turned into a disaster. How could it have gone so wrong? Wisteria calmed her grandson down and listened to Nat’s explanation of each fact slowly. Her calm expression was evolving into graveness as she listened. He started about how he wanted to uncover the secrets behind what he had been disallowed since a young age. He originally wanted to enter the cave out of curiosity, but he had implicated Alyssa and indirectly led to her sacrifice. To think that he hadn’t noticed anything was wrong. For her to tu
Above their heads, dark clouds loomed. The shaman, Ainsley’s father Alister stood with his arms raised high, holding the magical totem of Jave. His lips moved, signifying a silent incantation. Nathaniel relaxed, feeling connected to Alyssa during the duration of the spell. He knew she wouldn’t understand, but it was okay to him. After all, who gets pulled into the ancient marriage ritual with a wizard? “Now, stand inside the circle and hold hands.” Alister possessed grey hairs and a long beard, a mark of his seniority among the various ranks of villagers in Jave. He sounded grave as he gestured towards the circle on the summoning hall, chalked in white. With little to no unwillingness, Alyssa moved into the circle, hiding a little smile as he moved in and took her hand. Her cheeks bore a little pinkish tinge, reminding him of the different side of her that prevailed now. They stood together closing their eyes as the shaman erupted with verses that he couldn’t understand while shaki
