Chapter 114

Sienna’s Pov

“Daphne,” I said softly, sitting back on the edge of her bed. “Lucas isn’t your daddy.”

Her small face scrunched up in confusion, her wide eyes brimming with innocence.

“But he’s always so nice to me. Why can’t he be my daddy?”

I sighed, brushing her hair away from her forehead.

“Sometimes, people are just nice to us because they care. It doesn’t mean they’re family. Now, sweetie, you need to lie down and get some rest. You have a big day at school tomorrow.”

Daphne hesitated but finally settled into her bed, her tiny hands clutching her stuffed bunny. “Okay, Mommy,” she said quietly.

I kissed her forehead and tucked her in, whispering, “Goodnight, sweetheart.”

As I left her room and closed the door softly behind me, I leaned against it, exhaling heavily. Daphne’s question had struck a nerve, one I’d buried deep for years.

Despite the turmoil swirling in my heart, I found myself smiling as I thought about everything I’d achieved.

I’d created a

Chapter 115Sienna’s PovI held the invitation card tightly in my hand as I stared at Lisa’s smug face. “Don’t cross my path again, Lisa,” I said, my voice calm but edged with warning. She laughed lightly, adjusting her purse on her shoulder. “Oh, Sienna, you can say what you want, but I’ll see you at the party. Whether you like it or not.” I didn’t respond, turning on my heel and walking out of the store. My grip on the invitation card tightened as I pushed open the doors, the cool air outside doing little to calm the anger boiling inside me. When I got home, I stood by the counter, staring at the glossy card with Lucas’s name written in bold. My first instinct was to tear it apart, to shred it into tiny pieces and throw it away. But as I reached for it, a thought stopped me. "Why not give them a warm present instead?" I thought that would be better.A slow, mischievous smile crept across my face. If Lisa and Lucas thought I’d sit quietly and watch them parade their fake

Chapter 116 Sienna’s PovAs I got off the phone with Lucas’s uncle, a thousand questions swirled in my mind. Why would he want to take me to dinner? What was his real motive? But I decided not to overthink it. After all, I had my own plans to deal with Lucas and his upcoming engagement. I slipped into a simple yet elegant dress, making sure I looked composed but not overly formal. .When he arrived to pick me up, I greeted him politely and got into the car. The restaurant he chose was a cozy, upscale place, quiet enough for conversation but lively enough to feel comfortable. As we sat down, he reached across the table and took my hand. “Sienna,” he said in a calm yet sincere tone, “I don’t want you to worry about Lucas. He’s… lost right now. He doesn’t know what he’s doing.” I pulled my hand back gently, giving him a faint smile. “I’m not worrying about Lucas. We have no relation to each other anymore. Whatever he’s doing with Lisa is his business, not mine.” He nodded,

Chapter 117 Sienna’s PovThe room was alive with chatter, laughter, and the clinking of glasses. The grand hall was adorned with golden streamers and shimmering lights, perfectly fitting for Lucas’s birthday celebration. I adjusted the hem of my emerald green gown, its elegance matching the occasion, and took a deep breath. I had no intention of causing trouble tonight. I was here to make my presence known, nothing more. As I stepped further inside, heads turned. The gown was working its magic, and even Lisa’s smug confidence faltered for a moment when our eyes met. She was dressed beautifully, but my outfit made a clear statement, I wasn’t here to fade into the background. Lisa made her way to me, a glass of champagne in hand and a fake smile plastered across her face. “Sienna,” she said sweetly, though her eyes burned with disdain. “I didn’t expect to see you here. How did you even get an invitation?” Her voice was loud enough for Lucas, who was standing a few feet away,

Stop standing up for myself when that woman keeps ruining everything?” I sighed, trying to keep my voice steady. “This isn’t the time or place for this. Can we not do this right now?” I couldn’t believe what had just happened. The moment Sienna walked in, she somehow managed to shift the entire focus of my party. And what was worse? Three men, three, stood up for her like knights protecting a queen. Ryan, the celebrity I’d invited to impress Lisa, declared she was his guest. Then David, the pianist I’d hired to perform, had the audacity to claim she came with him too. And then, as if to drive the point home, my uncle, Max, sided with her. I felt cornered. It wasn’t just the humiliation of the moment; it was the realization that Sienna had built a fortress of allies around her. No matter how much I wanted to tell her

I turned to him, still reeling from the chaos of the evening. “I didn’t plan any of this,” I said defensively. “I came here to enjoy myself not to cause a scene. You should blame your soon to be daughter in law” He chuckled softly, shaking his head. “Regardless, we need to talk. Do you still have the card I gave you at the hotel?” I blinked, suddenly remembering the sleek card he’d handed me during our last encounter. My stomach dropped as I realized the truth. “I… I think I misplaced it,” I admitted, wincing slightly. “I’m so sorry, Max. I didn’t mean to lose it.” He waved a hand dismissively. “It’s fine, Sienna. But you’ll have to come with me tonight. There are things we need to discuss.” I frowned, shaking my head. “I can’t. I need to get home to Daphne. This party’s over for me now. I hesitated for a moment, still trying to shake off the embarrassment and tension from the party. But as I looked into his calm, reassuring eyes, I gave a small nod. “Thank you, David.” He gestured toward his car, and I followed him, my heels clicking softly against the pavement. The drive was quiet at first, the low hum of the engine filling the silence. David didn’t push me to talk, which I appreciated. Instead, he occasionally glanced over, making sure I was okay without saying a word. As we pulled up to my house, I exhaled deeply, grateful to be back in familiar surroundings. “Thank you for this,” I said softly, turning to him. David gave me a gentle smile. “Anytime, Sienna. You know that.” Just as I stepped out of the car, Daphne ran out of the house, her small arms flailing as she called out, “Mommy! Mommy!” “Daphne?” I said, crouching down as she barreled int

Do you know how ridiculous that made us look?” Lisa spun on her heel, her face contorted with anger. “Humiliated you? Are you seriously worried about your image when she’s the one trying to ruin our lives? She was there to ruin me Lucas!” I pinched the bridge of my nose, exhaling slowly. “Lisa, I already told you, I’m handling Sienna. You don’t need to turn every situation into a scene. Do you think people left that party talking about our engagement? No, they left talking about your fight with my ex-wife!” Her eyes softened slightly, but her voice remained defiant. “I just… I can’t stand seeing her around you. You’ve barely been in her life.” Her words stung, but I kept my composure. “I know I’ve been absent,” I admitted, my tone softer now. “But I just want to spend some time with her. No strings attached.” She studied me for a long moment, her gaze sharp and unyielding. Then, almost reluctantly, she stepped aside and called into the house. “Daphne! Someone wants to see you.” A moment later, Daphne appeared, her eyes lighting up when she saw me. “Lucas!” she exclaimed, running toward me. I crouched down, meeting her at eye level. “Hey, kiddo. Lucas was home, Daphne was safe, and we were rebuilding our lives. The weight that had been pressing on my chest for so long had lifted, and I could breathe again. I woke up that morning to the sound of birds chirping outside, the sunlight streaming through the windows, and the soft hum of the world going about its business. It felt like everything was right. The past few weeks had been a whirlwind, but we had made it through. And now, we were finally starting to move forward. But as I sat down for breakfast with Lucas and Daphne, my phone rang. It was Lucas, and I could hear the tension in his voice the moment I answered. “Sienna, you need to listen to me. Max is doing something with the documents. Chapter 178 Lucas's PovThe courtroom was quiet, but the air was thick with tension. I stood there, watching as the judge handed down the final sentence. Lisa and Max, the two people who had caused so much chaos in my life, were about to pay for everything. I couldn’t help but feel a cold, bitter sense of satisfaction. "Both of you are sentenced to life imprisonment for your crimes," the judge announced, his voice echoing in the silent room. I didn’t flinch. It was what they deserved. They had manipulated, lied, and tried to tear apart everything I had fought so hard to build. Now, justice was being served. Lisa looked at me, tears streaming down her face, but I felt nothing for her. She had begged for forgiveness countless times, but I couldn’t allow myself to be swayed by her apologies. Not anymore. Not after everything she had done. She turned to the judge, pleading, her voice shaky. "Please... I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do all of this. I just wanted to be loved." I didn’t

I should have told Sienna how I felt. I should have told her that I loved her, that I didn’t want Lisa anymore, that I never wanted to hurt her. But instead, I had let things spiral out of control. I had let my anger, my jealousy, get the better of me. And now, I was left with nothing.Even after everything that had happened, after being beaten and dragged by Lucas, my mind wouldn’t stop racing. I knew that what I had done was wrong, but there was this part of me that still couldn't let go of Sienna. It didn’t matter that I had messed everything up. It didn’t matter that I had let Lisa manipulate me into making terrible decisions. I still wanted her. I still wanted Sienna. I had gone to their house, to Lucas’s house, to confront him. I told him that he hadn’t won, that I would take Sienna from hi

Chapter 176 Sienna's PovI slowly stirred from unconsciousness, my head throbbing as if a thousand voices were screaming inside my skull. The room around me was dim, and I could hear the soft hum of machines and the muffled voices of people talking. My eyes fluttered open, and the sterile smell of the hospital hit me like a wave. I tried to sit up, but the dizziness made my stomach churn, and I had to lie back down. I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to gather my strength. The memories from earlier, Lucas, the fight, everything, came rushing back. My heart raced. What happened? Was everyone okay?I tried to sit up again, this time more carefully, and saw a doctor standing by my side. "You're awake," the doctor said softly, a reassuring smile on his face. "How are you feeling?"I didn’t answer right away. Instead, I pushed myself up a little more, still feeling weak but determined. "I want to go home," I said, my voice hoarse. The doctor frowned slightly. "I’m afraid that’s not

Chapter 175 Lisa's PovI couldn’t contain my smile as I watched everything unfold. The plan was working perfectly, just as I had envisioned. The doctor, the coma syringe, the manipulation, it was all falling into place. I had been playing this game for so long, and now, I was finally going to win. Sienna was still unconscious, and all I needed was for her to stay that way for a little while longer. The more time I bought, the more control I gained over Lucas. If I could just keep her out of the picture long enough, Lucas would be mine. He would see that I was the one who was truly loyal, the one who could give him everything he wanted.I watched as the doctor prepared the syringe, the liquid inside glowing faintly. He was hesitant, but I had made sure to convince him that this was the only way. We had to keep Sienna incapacitated for a while, just long enough for me to take full control of the situation.“You’re sure this will work?” I asked, my voice low but insistent. The docto

Chapter 174 Lucas’s PovI was so damn tired. Tired of the constant pain, the grief, and the frustration that seemed to follow me everywhere I went. It felt like the universe had it out for me, like I had been cursed to live a life of endless suffering. First, Daphne’s death, my daughter, gone in an instant. And now Sienna. She was slipping further away from me, her mind unraveling in a way I couldn’t control. I had tried everything, but nothing seemed to work. I had lost her once already, and now, I was on the verge of losing her again.I couldn’t help but think that maybe I was the problem. Maybe I was bad luck. Maybe it was me who was causing all of this. First, I had failed Daphne, and now, I was failing Sienna. It was all my fault. I had let her down, let us both down. I didn’t deserve her, and maybe she didn’t deserve me either. It was the only logical conclusion I could come to in my exhausted, broken state.I had been considering it for a while now, but now, it seemed like t

Chapter 172 Sienna's Pov The weight of the world crashed down on me as I sat there, staring at the sterile white walls of the hospital room. My mind refused to process the words the doctor had just spoken, but they echoed in my ears, replaying over and over again. I felt like I was suffocating, my chest tightening with every breath I took. Daphne. My precious little girl. Gone. Just like that. The doctor had explained it so calmly, so matter-of-factly, but all I could hear was the deafening silence that followed. My baby, my Daphne, was no longer here. The doctor had told me that she had been suffering from a condition that was only revealed too late, something no one could have foreseen. A brain tumor. And the worst part? It had been growing silently, without any signs, until it was too late to treat. I blinked hard, trying to push back the tears that threatened to drown me. I didn’t want to cry. I couldn’t. Not here. Not in front of the doctor, not in front of Lucas, who
