She felt blood and adrenaline rushing through her veins from what just happened and the thrill sent her high above the ground.

She spotted Lisa sooner than she expected and Charming was standing beside her. Charming was in a white asymmetrical dress, stopping right above her knees and a black belt around it, and four inches, ankle strap heel. The light make-up on her face and her hair in a ponytail made her look exquisite.

Lisa was in a long, silver-coloured, silk dress which showcased the fine lines of her body, although keeping that as well as the three-inches pump heel she had on covered up. Lisa’s long, braided hair fell over her shoulders and her make-up was simple and mature. The look hinted at this party's nature, but she still made it look beautiful.

I'm glad Lisa was able to walk away from that relationship and him being now engaged to someone else should make it easier on her to deal with so that she won't end up looking for him again.

Cainan spotted Jasmin not so far away, staring afar off with a focused gaze, trying to find someone or something, and he made his way over to her. When he was close enough, he wrapped his arms around Jasmin’s small waist and he felt her almost rebel to his hold before discovering it was him and relaxing, easing herself. “Where have you been, Ms Whyte?” he murmured into the crook of her neck as he pulled her closer to himself and their body touched intimately. “I’ve been going crazy with missing you.” She became intoxicated by the rich smell of him and wanted more of him, more of his touch and hold. She wanted to snuggle close to him all night and day and never let go. They were both at the corner of the hall, which was less crowded than the front where the guests gathered. She had left him close to an hour minutes ago to go find Lisa. However, ended up running into Remi

“My golden bracelet is missing as well.” Another said with panic. “My earrings!” echoes a voice from far back. “Everyone calm down,” Lisa’s voice came up to quell the guests who were now disoriented and murmuring, “this is no reason to panic, there has to be some sort of explanation for that.” “No reason to panic? My fiancée’s engagement ring is missing!” the roaring response of an angry man came from the back. The guest gasped in horror, and others around began checking themselves, fear and dread in their eyes. Cainan's attention flew to Jasmin, and something flickered in his eyes. And he didn’t even have to open his mouth for her to know what was going through his mind. His eyes asked the questions and threw the accusations at her without a second thought. Cainan had made it a routine to call her every morning and wish her a great day ever since he'd gotten her a personal driver, which meant that he wouldn't be seeing her early morning anymore. Most days he'd call her when she was about to leave home to work, but today he called a few minutes later than that and she was almost at work when her phone rang.It was Cainan. It was easy for anyone to know because her smile got wide and her cheeks heated and goosebumps grew on her skin."Sweetheart." his deep and possessive voice came through immediately she placed the phone to her ear."Honey," she returned, still beaming."Did you sleep well?""Yes, I did.""I'm pretty sure it wasn't as good as when you have me beside you though."That was true."That's always open for debate."

She felt flutters of butterflies in her stomach and her palms grew sweaty in the anticipation of seeing Cainan as she marched her feet into the building. She was eager to see the man she loved and longed to be wrapped up in his arms. "Good day, Ms Whyte." Someone greeted her from the right to the side and she quickly turned and saw Sadiq getting up from his seat and stepping towards her, "You're here to see Mr Inferno." The last time she was here, she almost gave Sadiq a heart attack. She didn't plan on doing that today. They were friends now-sort of. "Good day, Sadiq, and yes I am. I hope he's in. I didn't inform him I was coming over. Some things never change." She giggled. He chuckled in response, "I don't think he has left his office since he came in this morning." She nodded at him, "Good, I better hurry then." She stepped into the elevator and the door closed and she mentally counted down the seconds left for

A few days later, Jasmin was holding onto a bunch of lily flowers and she wore a long silver gown that littered with every move she made. Lisa told her it was going to give her the best look two days ago, and she believed. Cainan was in a black tux and red bow tie and sat in his wheelchair, awaiting her arrival at the altar. He was taking Rogue’s advice and also grooming a beard and a few stubbles were on his face. Jasmin told Cainan she wanted to be married to him a few days ago at the hospital and despite being confined in bed, Cainan moved to plan for the wedding, which would be a small one with only family and friends. After they released him from the hospital, the doctor gave strict instructions that he made use of the wheelchair to help heal and restore him to his full strength before walking and so he had done in these past days while planning the wedding. The stillness within and without was the first thing Cainan took notice of as he regained consciousness and soon after, his lashes lifted and he beheld a blurry shadow pacing around not so far away. What a very weird dream he had had, being chased around with Jasmin and then shot and stabbed. He made out the white painted walls, ceiling and blue curtains hanging on the window through his dimmed vision and his head did a mental recall of the event that might have led to this, but came up short. The clearer his vision became, the harder his head ached, and he shut his eyes as the pain in his head grew worse. “Shit!” he cussed and groaned loudly. How the hell did he end up here? “Cainan,” he heard Ada’s voice snapping him out of his thoughts, and a moment later she took his hand in hers. “Oh, thank goodness you’re finally awake.” She breathed in relief and took her seat

Dennis dragged Jasmin out of the house and into her car before forcing her to drive them away from the house. She obeyed Dennis and did nothing that would spook suspicion for the safety of her unborn child even though she couldn’t imagine going back to the nightmare of a life she once had, filled with fear, abuse, and pain. “Where are the rest of the team?” she asked, a little curious as they left the last checkpoint. Dennis did nothing without his team, which comprised three other wealth exchangers, and Jasmin sensed something was up with their absence. “Dead.” He flatly replied, his eyes on the road. “I lost them a few days ago, during a heist.” Her eyes dropped. “I’m sorry.” She mumbled quietly, but she was not surprised. You need to make sure that your words are believable because Lisa isn't out of the woods yet." Afraid, angry and defeated, she pulled out her phone from her purse on the couch and dialled Cainan's number.
