Dear Readers,
Please refrain from giving low ratings just because of the update schedules as it affects the overall quality of the books.
I'd rather you rate the book based on something constructive that would help me improve my work.
Please understand that I already have a lot on my plate. Being busy with college, assignments, internships, etc. Hence the slow updates.
As compensation, I will begin with the mass release of the chapters starting next week.
Until then, don't forget to leave your votes and comments under the chapters.
You can also check out my other book titled, "Trouble with the Devil" which is also available on Goodnovel.

As the door swung open, Jayden’s eyes widened and his breath seemed to have been caught in his throat. His gaze settled upon the figures within the room, and a whirlwind of thoughts swirled in his mind like a turbulent wave. The woman he had feared to see inside was not Nina, and at that moment, a glimmer of relief shone through the darkness that had consumed him.He released a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding, feeling a slight reprieve from the turmoil that had consumed him just moments ago.Fortunately.Fortunately, it wasn’t her.He did not care about the scandalous scene before him and left the room, his gaze scanning the surroundings once more. After all, even though the woman inside was not her, he still had to find Nina.Turning around a corner, Jayden’s gaze instinctively veered towards the window and caught a glimmer of the familiar figure in the distance. And who could it be other than Nina herself?A surge of relief coursed through Jayden’s veins, washing away the f
“Jayden?” A crisp and mellow voice cut through the air like a sharp blade, shattering the tender moment between Jayden and Nina.Madison’s eyes widened in shock as she witnessed the scene before her. Her mind raced to comprehend the sight of Jayden embracing another woman so intimately.Confusion clouded her features as her thoughts ran wild. Jayden’s arms tightened around Nina as they turned towards the source of the voice. The woman in front of them seemed to be around Nina’s age. Her features were a stunning blend of different ethnicities. Her fair complexion was complemented by soft, flowing curls that framed her face. She exuded an aura of purity and elegance that drew attention from those around her. Jayden's expression hardened as his gaze fell upon the women, annoyance flickering in his eyes. Though he had expected some kind of confrontation, he had hoped to avoid it on this particular night. Nina’s initial shock quickly transformed into a cold, guarded demeanor as she ass
Every single word that came out of her mouth was like a dagger piercing his soul. The weight of her disappointment, her pain, and unspoken anguish settled heavily upon his shoulders. Jayden’s chest tightened, and he took a step closer to Nina. “Number eight, eleven, and sixteen,” he suddenly said. “Those were your creation, right?” Nina’s mouth fell agape in surprise as she registered his words. To avoid any accidents, the outfits selected for the runway were kept a secret. Except for the designers themselves, no one knew about the arrangements. Even Victor had no idea about it. How did Jayden know about it? Seeing her stunned expression, Jayden pulled her into his arms. He hugged her tightly, burying his face in the crook of her neck. Taking in her natural fragrance, his chaotic thoughts finally calmed down, and he felt at ease. “How did you know?” she asked, looking confused. “I figured it out.” He spoke softly. “When the models walked the runway, a sense of familiarity washe
Gently shifting her body, Nina attempted to create some space between them. Her hands instinctively placed themselves on his chest when her amber gaze met his.In the stillness of the night, the luminous moon hung outside the window, casting a gentle glow upon the room. Jayden propped himself up, his eyes fixated on Nina’s face. The dim light danced in her eyes, reflecting the stars that adorned the night sky. A surge of emotions coursed through his veins, urging him to act upon the itch in his heart.Jayden leaned in, his eyes brimming with longing and desire, closing the distance between them.“Mmph!”His touch was gentle, yet possessive. His long fingers tangled in her hair as he deepened the kiss, savoring the taste of her lips against his.As she felt his domineering kiss, Nina knew she had been tricked. Gritting her teeth, she opened her mouth and bit his lips aggressively.Hiss!Jayden winced in pain and reluctantly parted their lips.“You’re good, Jayden Luxton,” Nina spat, he
Nina shrugged off Madison’s arms and stepped away from her.“I asked you to stop. Didn’t you hear me?” Madison tried to block Nina again.Nina raised an eyebrow, her tone cool and composed. “Why should I listen to you? Are we familiar?”A contemptuous sneer escaped Madison’s soft lips when she heard her words. “Heh. Are you feigning ignorance because you're afraid to confront me?”“Move,” Nina replied harshly. Uninterested in engaging in a pointless conversation with her, she walked away.“What will it take for you to leave, Jayden? You can name any condition.” Madison’s voice suddenly echoed from behind, making Nina halt in her tracks.Nina stopped where she was and slowly turned around, her eyes squinting slightly. “Can you give me anything I ask?”Seeing that she was finally tempted, Madison couldn’t help but smirk.“Yes, as long as you agree to leave him, I’ll fulfill all of your conditions,” she declared confidently, not masking the disdain in her eyes.“Is five million enough? I
“Mr. Santiago, I think you're mistaken. Your business is in this mess not because of me, but your precious daughter.” Nina calmly pointed out, shaking her head at her father’s lack of awareness.“What?”Nina advised him patiently. "Ask Alyson what happened at the after-party a few days ago and you’ll understand everything. If you don’t believe me, you can reach out to your contacts and find out the truth. After all, the matter is still hot.”“Also,” she continued, “This is the last time I’ll be warning you lots. Since we’ve already cut ties, Mr. Santiago, please respect yourself and don’t come looking for me again.”Her words were firm, leaving no room for further discussion as she walked away.Unconvinced, Mr. Santiago wanted to chase after her, but before he could get any closer, a man suddenly appeared out of nowhere, blocking Nina from his sight. The man had a tall build, with muscles visibly bulging out of his t-shirt. He looked like a professional bodyguard, and his sharp gaze b
Ignoring Madison’s eager anticipation, Jayden walked up to Nina and snaked his hand around her waist with extreme familiarity.“Are you done buying them?” His lips curled up in a good mood when he saw the faint redness at the tip of her ears.Nina nodded, not daring to meet his eyes. With a soft laugh, Jayden pulled her close as he whispered. “I can’t wait to see how beautiful you’ll look in it,” Nina raised her head, feeling the heat on her face yet to subside when her eyes swept past Jayden and landed on the person behind him.It was as though she’d been hit with a bucket of ice water, and her face turned cold.Madison’s expression immediately changed upon seeing Nina.Slut! She muttered under her breath when she noticed Nina walk out of the lingerie store. Her face contorted with jealousy as she watched Jayden’s warm interactions with Nina. She felt a burning knot in her chest as her lips formed a tight line, unable to hide her envy.Every smile, every touch, and every word excha
Everyone’s faces immediately turned into contempt when they heard Madison’s words. Walking alongside Jayden, Nina’s aura wasn’t inferior to his in the slightest. Coupled with her stunning face, they assumed she was the daughter of some influential family. Turned out they had been overthinking. Madison’s words were like poison spreading through the group, tainting everyone's perceptions of Nina. Of course, these people did not bother verifying the authenticity of Madison’s words. As Jayden’s niece, they believed whatever she said without question. “Madison, won’t you introduce Jayden to us?” David, another one of Madison’s friends, took the opportunity and asked excitedly. Although these individuals were considered elites, they were not qualified to be in the presence of Jayden. In their world, only their fathers and grandfathers had the privilege of coming into direct contact with a man of his stature. This alone spoke volumes about the immense power and authority that Jayden L
After a roller-coaster ride, the book has finally come to an end. To be honest, there were several times when I had considered dropping the book because I did not find any motivation to continue. However, when I read your comments, I told myself, that even if it was for one person, I should finish what I had started. And now when I look back at it, I'm glad I did it. I sincerely thank all the readers who have supported this book. I can't express it into words how much your support means to me. Now that the book has been completed, I'll take a break and come up with another story at the beginning of 2024. Since most of you do not like to wait for updates, I'll first draft the entire book and then publish it for you all to read. In the meantime, you can connect with me on my social handle, @aerawrites where I'll be giving updates about my upcoming work. Before leaving, I'd like to ask if there's any specific genre you would like me to write on. If yes, let me know in the comment
“I think this is a lot for Nina to process right now,” Jayden said in a protective tone. “We appreciate you sharing this with us, but she needs some time. We’ll talk about it later when she’s ready.” Isaac and Alaina exchanged a glance, recognizing the need for patience and understanding. “Of course,” Isaac replied, his voice gentle. “We’ll be here whenever she’s ready to talk.” At that moment, Isaac’s phone rang, breaking the heavy silence in the room. He excused himself with an apologetic look and answered the call. As he listened to the voice on the other end, his expression changed drastically. After a brief conversation, he hung up and turned to the couple. His expression was somber as he stood up and held Alaina’s hand. “I’m sorry, but I have urgent work that requires my immediate attention. We’ll have to leave for now, but we'll visit again soon.” “Take care, both of you.” Isaac nodded at them. Alaina, though confused, followed her husband. She gave a reluctant glance at
Speaking of his daughter, Nina, he almost cried when he thought about the abuse she had suffered at Kristen’s hands. While his daughter had to tread on thin ice just for a meal, Kristen’s illegitimate child was enjoying the luxuries that never belonged to her! Unknowingly, he had added to his daughter’s sufferings. Isaac’s regret and anguish over the past intensified as he considered the stark contrast in the lives of the two children. When he realized Nina was his and Alaina’s daughter, he immediately ordered his men to do a background check on her. Everything began to fit into pieces when he found out about Nina's relationship with Kristen. Isaac looked at the woman in front of him with disgust and called the officer over. Jayden had already done an excellent job in ensuring that Kristen faced the consequences of her actions. As for Isaac, he was determined to ensure that Kristen would rot in prison for the rest of her life, wishing she was never born. Meanwhile, the situati
Isaac’s face turned ashen, and he rushed toward Alaina. Everything happened so suddenly that he could not react in time. And when he came to his senses, there was already a long cut on Alaina’s forearm. “Alaina, are you okay?” Isaac asked, his voice trembling with heartache. “I-I’m fine,” Alaina nodded, though the pain was clear in her eyes. Her arm continued to bleed, prompting Isaac to call out urgently, “Somebody, call an ambulance.” Shocked, Emilia dropped the knife from her hand. The blood drained from her face when she realized the gravity of her actions. Everyone knew Alaina was the apple of Isaac’s eye and that he treated her like a treasure. Emilia’s heart trembled when she thought about how she had inadvertently touched his Achilles' heels. She watched as everyone in the house scrambled to send Alaina to the hospital. Overwhelmed with fear and guilt, he slipped away and retreated to her room. She locked the door, hoping Isaac wouldn’t settle scores with her if any
“I’m fine. Just a little tired,” Jayden replied weakly, his eyes still closed. “I’ll be alright after sleeping for a while.” His reassurance didn’t ease Nina’s worry, though. Her heart pounded in her throat, and she could not calm down. Wiping away her tears, a trace of stubbornness appeared in her eyes as she left the ward. Once again, Nina found herself standing in front of the imposing estate. This time, she came alone and did not alert anyone. Although Jayden forbade her from contacting Isaac, fear overrode her senses. She couldn’t shake the haunting image of waking up to his cold, lifeless body one day. The door creaked open, and Nina slipped inside, her eyes scanning the elegant foyer. She knew she was pushing her luck, but she had to convince Isaac no matter what. Turning a corner, she found herself in the expansive living room. There, seated on the sofa, was none other than Emilia Moore. After suffering multiple setbacks in life, nothing seemed to have changed for E
“WHAT!?” The room erupted in uproar. “No! You can’t. What about my son?” Lilian protested hysterically. “That’s my final order,” William asserted authoritatively. “As for you,” he addressed the woman, who was on the verge of a mental breakdown, “Let’s get a divorce.” Lilian’s eyes widened, and she slumped onto the chair with a thud. “No…” William paid no attention to her. His old body could not hold on any longer. He patted Jayden’s shoulder lightly before turning to leave. Watching him walk away, panic seized Lilian. She jumped from her seat and dashed forward. Kneeling, Lilian grasped William’s legs and pleaded for mercy. “Husband, I’m sorry. I was blinded by greed. I acknowledge my mistake, and I promise I’ll turn over a new leaf. Please don’t abandon me,” she begged. The weight of her actions only became clear when she lost everything. Without the title of Mrs. Luxton, she was nothing. “Husband…” Lilian continued to create a scene, but it was to no avail. The guards hel
“Don’t forget, I’m still the CEO.” Jayden looked at her coldly. A derisive snicker resonated in the room that came from Jayden’s uncles. Back when William suddenly fell ill, The Luxton Corporation faced imminent danger. During that period, it was Jayden who resurrected the Luxton Corporation from the brink of collapse. Under his leadership, the business flourished with each passing day. They were indignant about letting an illegitimate son take the position of CEO. However, Jayden’s ability to manage the business left everyone speechless. Throughout the years, they had silently consented to let him toil for the Luxton Corporation. However, now that he had a few days to live, they couldn’t wait to overthrow him. “Jayden, have you forgotten that you’re a dying man right now? How much more do you think you can invest?” They mocked. He had already outlived his usefulness and so there was no need for him to stay at the company. Nina’s heart chilled at their words. Among those pre
With a gesture to the servant, Isaac instructed him to chase them out of his house.Although they already knew the outcome, dejection settled over Nina as they left the residence. She opened the door when she saw Jayden’s intense gaze fixed upon her.Despite his sickly pallor, his domineering aura couldn’t be concealed.Sensing the tension, Nina felt amiss. “H-Hey, you’re up?”Jayden remained silent, his icy gaze unyielding. Instead of acknowledging her greeting, he asked instead, “Where have you been?”“Nowhere in particular. I just went to learn about your treatment plan with the doctor…” Nina replied, trying to keep her tone steady.“Is that so?”Nina nodded.“Was the doctor’s name Isaac Moore?”The smile on Nina’s face froze. The look in Jayden’s eyes sent a shiver down her spine; there was a dangerous gleam that made her heart race.Panic flashed across her face when she realized Jayden had figured out everything. Helpless, she started to speak, “Jayden, I—”“Enough!” Jayden inte
"I missed you. While you were away, I've never stopped thinking about you," she admitted. How could she be so selfish as to abandon him and leave everything behind? The very man who had been the reason she could step out of her shadows. She had let go of his hand when he needed her the most. The thought of not being there to witness his final moments was so agonizing that it felt like a sharp pain was piercing through her heart, leaving her breathless.Nina wiped away her tears and assured Jayden, “I’m here now. And I’ll never leave your side.”Without waiting for his reply, she expressed her intention to speak to his doctor. As she left the ward, a streak of worry flashed across Jayden’s face, “Nina…”In the doctor’s office.Closing the door behind her, Nina anxiously approached the doctor. “Doctor, how is Jayden’s situation?”The doctor furrowed his brow. “Who are you?”“I’m his wife, Nina Luxton,” she declared. She was his wife in this life and she would be his wife even after he d
