Charlotte’s bright gaze on the crying Lorraine was unflinching. Lorraine loved Zachary deeply, which was why she had created misunderstandings between her and Zachary time and again. It made Charlotte take pity on the girl. If she had stayed in her lane, Charlotte would have turned the page and let bygones be bygones.
