"old pal"

The meeting has ended…

As Julia sat at her desk, reviewing the files from the meeting, a knock at the door broke her concentration. "Come in," she called out, expecting it to be her assistant or perhaps a Board member with a follow-up question.

But to her surprise, a tall, dashing man with a charming smile walked into her office. His piercing blue eyes sparkled as he approached her desk.

"Julia, it's been ages!" he exclaimed, his deep voice sending a flutter through her chest.

Julia's eyes widened in delight as she rose from her seat to greet him. “James! Oh my goodness, it's so great to see you!"

The two shared a warm hug, and Julia couldn't help but keep smiling. It's been a while since she and James talked. His chiseled features and broad shoulders made him look like a model, but she knew him to be so much more.

James, or jammy as she fondly called him, was an old friend from college. They had been inseparable, sharing countless memories and laughter together. After graduation, th
