LAURA'S POV

"Thanks for informing me, Julie," Kora thanked her, as she made her way into the gym with her hands in the pockets of her pants.

"I have some business to take care of, girls," Julie announced and walked out immediately.

"Kora..." I murmured.

"Don't talk to me, Laura..." she whispered, and I bit my lower lip in guilt when I heard her voice breaking at the edge.

"I'm sorry," I whispered as tears rolled from my eyes, wetting my hands.

"No, you're not. If you were, you wouldn't hide your pain from me when all my life I've shared mine with you," she sobbed.

"Kora, please..." I pleaded weakly.

"This is not over," she muttered as she helped treat my knuckles.

"Ouch... slow down," I moaned in pain.

"Are you trying to remind me that I dropped out of med school?" she exclaimed, and I stared at her in shock. It was something she would always say when we bantered words in the past.
