BRYAN'S POV

I know Laura was not going to give in to my advances just like that, but what I was not expecting was to walk into my office and not catch a glimpse of her. I asked the lady at the front desk, and she confirmed Laura's absence at the office, which further provoked me.

Letting it slide, I went about my daily business until we closed for the day.

"Did you get what I asked you for?" I asked Denver, as I walked out of my office with my blazer in hand.

"Yes sir," he answered, and he handed me the note.

"Are you sure you don't want me to drive you there, boss?" He asked with concern.

"You know I can handle myself just fine," I responded, and he nodded.

As I got into my car, my phone rang, and I groaned frustratedly. Immediately, I saw the caller ID. I stared at it for a while before picking it up .

"Good evening, mama," I said with a soft smile playing on my lips as I leaned into the chair properly.
