Chapter 30: Reminiscence: Scared to be Alone

"Thank you. You're the first to greet me today..." I uttered with tears in my eyes. I couldn't hold it any longer.

It was the first nice thing I've heard since waking up. And it's even worth it enduring the insults from earlier.

Sammy's hands landed on my cheeks, wiping off the tears drenching my face. Every stroke he made it made me calm and emotional at the same time.

"Normally, I would be the second. I'm sorry if it's only me today. If Madam Marion is still here, there'll be two of us celebrating right now." I bawled my eyes out, hearing the madam's name once again.
