they made arrangements for Jane to be monitored in Alexander's room, so I didn't have to worry about going back and for or doctors hunting me down. once visiting was over, we had time to relax and process what happened.

"So now you have to explain who the hell Nicky is and why you didn't tell me you'd been married before," I said as I laid Jane in her hospital crib.

Alexander sighed and patted the bed beside him. I curled up next to him and laid my head on his shoulder, staring at him.

"it was years ago," Alexander began. " Way before, I realized I had a chance to spend so much time with you. she was supposed to be just a fling. but when I tried to break it off, she said she was pregnant with my child."

"Well, where's the kid at now?" I asked sadly.

we finally got to all come home after Alexander spent a few days in the hospital. I had arranged for a full-time nurse and a nanny to come help me with Alexander and Jane. Alexander needed some care that I was not comfortable with doing alone. Jane, on the other hand, was becoming a restless wild child, and I need the extra help with her even on my own. I was trying to juggle being a mother wife and taking care of the house plus taking over Alexander's business affairs for him. I took care of the things that couldn't be handled over the phone or by email. things were going smoothly, and I was beginning to get the hang of everything. we began planning the wedding, not just talking about it. we settled on the wedding being held here at our home. there was plenty of land to make our own perfect spot, and we had a whole guest mansion on the property to house our families to keep them close. our biggest setback was going to be the honeymoon. Alexander had to be in casts for 8 weeks a

oh boy, Alexander was right. I did have my hands full with him and Jane. Alexander was still on restriction and was only allowed to walk with the assistance of a cane and not lift anything more than five pounds. he did not listen to those orders from his doctor. of course, what human does? Jane was running through the house like a blind rabbit being chased. she was constantly running into things and falling down. poor baby just wouldn't give up. we ended up baby proofing the house. every corner was rounded off or cushioned. all the cabinets had baby proof magnetic locks that doubled as Alexander proof locks, apparently. my brothers went the extra mile and got her padding and a helmet custom made. she could still walk and run freely, but if she fell, she could get up on her own unharmed. we had to double gate the stairs to keep Jane and Alexander off of them, which was kind of funny. Alexander hated the baby proofing because it also limited him and what sketchy things he could do

the ride home was a blur. I was in shock. how could I not know for fourteen weeks that I was pregnant? i couldn't help but think back on everything I had done in the last fourteen weeks. the engagement parties, the wedding, the honeymoon, I didn't get drunk or anything, but I did have a glass of wine or two. Alexander drove us home, and he couldn't stop smiling. every now and then, he'd squeeze my hand. thankfully, he didn't say anything. my husband is amazing and understanding. i hope he knew I was excited too just right now, I was shocked. we got home, and Alexander went to the bedroom to make a phone call. • The Broken Diamond   32- Shocked and excited

I sat in the waiting room, nervous and excited. it felt like hours, but I knew it had only been a few minutes. so many thoughts were running through my head right now. "Mrs. Karina Branson" I heard a woman call my name we stood up together and walked to the nurse standing in the door to the back. I squeezed Alexander's hand as tightly as I could. "Follow me. we're gonna get some vitals and get an ultrasound before I take you to see the doctor." The woman smiled as she led us back. she was pretty blonde with hair pulled up into a cute, messy bun. her scrub top had hearts and pulse lines. her eyes were beautiful and kind, and I was jealous of her make-up skills and full lashes. the name tag on her badge read 'Eliza'. what a pretty name. "Alrighty then, let's get you to ultrasound." Eliza smiled and led us to dim room with a big screen

i tossed and turned last night. it was hard for me to sleep for some reason. i wasn't feeling well here lately. we'd been back for our honeymoon family trip for about a month and a half now. i slipped out of bed and headed for the shower. on my vanity laid a pair of leggings, one of Alexander's shirts, my undergarments, and a box with a note. *Take me, you're late* what was he talking about? I wasn't late... I checked the date on my phone. oh, snap. I checked my tracking app. I was a week late. I ripped the box open and hurriedly opened the package. I laid the test on the counter and waited. Alexander came into the bathroom and leaned against the wall. he looked at me and smiled. "Was I right?" he asked "I haven't looked." I sighed."I haven't even showered. "Well, shower, and then we'll look together." Alexander said as he turned on the shower for me. I was too nervous to take a shower, but I did anyway to hopefully calm my nerves. how in the world did this man know? what
