The warm air from the blow dryer felt like a blessing against my skin as I ran my hand through Gabby’s short hair.

I wave of nostalgia hit me as I remembered the good old times when I used to run my hands through Gabby’s long hair with her multicolored strands and tell her how she was my unicorn since she loved rainbows so much.

“I miss your long hair.” I told her now, putting the dryer aside as I ran both hands through her hair to straighten them out. “But I love your short hair as well. It suits you better. Besides, I’d always wanted to see you in short hair.”

Gabby nodded, a low hum sounding from her throat as she enjoyed the massage I was giving her. “I love your hair more.” She whispered at last, her voice low. “I always wanted to go blonde, but it never was my color. I looked too pale in blonde.”
