"I've wanted to tell you this for a long time," Patrick continued. “I only had the courage to confess now because I am scared that someone might snatch you away from me. You are beautiful. Not just your appearance, but as a person. You know that, right?"
She frowned. “Stop! Why are you telling me this now?"
“I am afraid of some men at your work. At school, I can build up a fence against other guys. But here in this hospital? I have no access here. It is hard to keep an eye on you these days. I have been feeling uneasy recently. That is why I had to tell you now. Please don't look at other guys."
She was stupefied for a couple of seconds. Her fists and jaw clenched as her anger rose at what she just heard. What gives him the right to do that?
