I wondered briefly if they were colored on, tattooed or natural. I stored that question back for later as the king stepped even closer, invading my space, and moving all thoughts aside save for him. He had an aura of strength, dominance, power, and danger like a snake ready to strike at the first sign of a threat.

Just standing under his gaze made my body warm and flush. His nostrils flared as if he was sniffing the air around him. His yellow eyes heated until they changed to a molten gold as his greenish golden skin flushed slightly. His thin, masculine lips turned up into a dark predatorial grin as his eyes looked me up and down.

"So, this is the intruder you were concerned with?" King Tohrah hissed out in English, much to my surprise.

"Yes, my King," Erik answered, still kneeling.

"A pretty little intruder," the King commented, reaching out and touched my face softly.

I was shocked at how my body rose to his touch, eager for more. I tried to jerk away, confused by the eager reaction. But his other hand came up and held me in place. I stayed still under his perusal, understanding his natural curiosity. That was until he reached down and grasped the hem of my shirt and tried to jerk it upwards.

"Stop that!" I snapped, slapping at his hand.

The room gasped in horror. I recoiled, realizing the error of my actions. What the hell was I thinking? My life was literally in this man's hands, and I was hitting him. That would have been a death sentence in the eyes of any monarch. The King shocked everyone in this room when he threw his head back and laughed.

"Ohh… she has the fyre in her!" King Tohrah exclaimed in approval touching my bright red hair.

"Are you making fun of my hair?" I asked, indignantly unable to help myself.

"No, little fyre. I was paying you a compliment. Most Draygons do not have half the soul of fyre that you do. We may breathe fire. But you embody it. Fyre is what you are! It is beautiful to see the outside as a warning for the inside. Be warned, you may be burned," the king replied with a wolfish grin.

King Tohrah walked back towards Erik. "Rise."

Erik rose gracefully and stood proud before his King.

"She certainly seems like your sister. What say you, Champion?" King Tohrah asked.

Erik turned to me; his eyes thoughtful for a moment as he regarded me. There was nothing more I could say that would change their minds if they didn't believe me anyway. So, I kept my head high and my mouth silent.

"Yes, my King. She is, in fact, my sister," he said slowly.

"You don't wish for me to ask the Sorcerer?" the king asked, waving his hand towards the one table that stood apart and had one lone cloaked figure at it.

The man barely moved and kept himself cloaked. He would have been easily ignored, dismissed, or even missed completely. My gut clenched in worry at the thought of that man coming near me. I looked to Erik, trying to plead with him to just accept it.

"No," Erik replied answering my silent plea. "She is my sister, I'm certain of it."

The King smiled his predatorial smile once more. "Good. It is settled then. She is the sister of the Champion."

King Tohrah's golden eyes burned as they moved up and down my body, and once more, my body heat rose in response. I suddenly felt exposed despite my clothes being the most modest ones in the room. Without warning, he stalked towards me purposefully and grabbed my hand, jerking me into his arms. I struggled against his chest, trying to free myself. However, he was too strong to break free from. His mouth descended on mine, capturing it with a power that snuck in and overwhelmed my senses. Though his kiss seemed hard and demanding when his tongue pressed up against my lips, it was soft and gently seeking more entrance.

My passion, which seemed to have jolted under his gaze, bloomed under his lips. Despite my protests, a soft moan dropped from my mouth, and my body stopped fighting him. Even with my mind screaming at me to stop him. But I couldn't do anything to fight him or the desire that was spreading through my body.

Once I went limp in his arms, he pulled his mouth away and pressed a kiss to my forehead. He stepped away and addressed the room with a series of hisses and a loud roar. They returned the roar with a fervor that caused the walls in the room to shake.

Still, in a daze, I turned to Erik. "What's going on?"

Before he could respond, the King pulled me to his side once more and locked an arm around my shoulder so I couldn't get away.

"The Draygons are greeting their new queen," he told me with pride.

Stunned and with no small amount of confusion. I allowed the king to steer me towards the chairs at the front of the room as the people renewed their celebrations with wild fervor.

I looked at the seat he was urging me towards then back at him. "Excuse me?"

Surely, he wasn't insisting I sit on it? I saw what happened to the last woman, and I was not about to be dragged off by the guards...again.

"I don't understand," I stated, my blank mind refusing to process any other words.

"Sit," the King insisted.

"Where?"

"There."

"But that's the Queen's chair. Only the Queen can sit in it," I replied stupidly.

"Exactly," King Tohrah stated simply as if that answered every confusing question that was rolling around in my head.

"But…"

"Mara," my brother hissed behind me.

"What?" I responded, turning to him for further explanation.

His eyes were burning with anger. A look I hadn't seen since I had taken his Walkman apart to get the wiring out for my radio to contact the aliens. He had been so pissed he hadn't spoken to me for a week. I had proceeded to try and put his Walkman back together. But though it did play, all the music had sounded like something straight out of Alvin and The Chipmunks.

Erik had laughed so hard. He had instantly forgiven me and had continued to listen to that Walkman for another three months before my parents took pity on him and paid for another one.

In my borderline delirious state, I began giggling until I caught the look on Erik s face.

"I'm sorry. I just don't understand what's going on," I explained to Erik.

However, it was the king that answered me. "It's quite simple, little intruder."

I turned to the King and was immediately trapped by his molten gold eyes once more.

"I am taking you as my Queen."

I spent the rest of the night in an uncomfortable silence with my eyes pinned to the ground, unwilling to look up through all the frolicking or random moans and sounds that echoed throughout the room. Occasionally, King Tohrah would reach out and touch my hand as if to make sure I wasn't going to be running away. However, when I didn't look up, he would let go and continue speaking to someone. Of course, they all still sounded like hisses and little growls for the most part. Occasionally, I could make out the word "sssahhh" every once and a while.A few times, I heard Erik say something in English. But I wasn't even going to try and look up to see what was going on. I was too afraid of seeing some of those naked people, and the bawdy acts that they were performing on each other. It wasn't long before hunger, exhaustion, and stress had my eyes drifting shut and my body melting into the chair. I had almost fallen when a strong hand grabbed my shoulder to hold me in the chair."It's time

I rose to consciousness the next morning very reluctantly, snuggling deeply into the nice soft bed that hugged me just as tightly. Even my dreams had been warm. No, scratch that, they had been hot, sweaty, sinfully erotic. A man with golden eyes had been ravishing me with such sweet reverence, I had never felt so desired nor so aroused. His sweet mouth had nibbled and licked his way all over my body, making sure not to miss a single spot that made me shiver, moan, or whimper. I was begging, panting, and reaching wantonly for him by the time he rose above me to finally claim what was his. The dream was so hot, so sexy, and left me feeling so achy that I was angry having to wake up without the amazing end that I knew would come if I had continued it. Quietly groaning in protest, I rolled over and finally forced my eyes open only to blink in confusion up at the unfamiliar ceiling. Or rather, what should have been my ceiling. Yet, try as I might, I couldn't find a hint of my flaking, sl

As he swept out the door with all the airs of the King that he was, I sat on the bed feel slightly bereft that he hadn't fought harder to get me to stay. "Don't be stupid, Mar," I chided myself out loud and pushed off the bed to stalk towards the door. I swung it open with a vengeance startling the remaining guard into gripping his sword. He relaxed slightly and hissed something to me that could have been his drink order for all the sense it made to me. I just shook my head, hoping it would answer the question or explain to him that I didn't understand what he was saying. Either way, he bowed politely and relaxed back to his post. I stepped further out into the hallway watching as people bustled about in a flurry of activity. Yet, every time they met my eyes, they always bowed and hissed in what I'm going to assume was a respectful greeting.Blushing furiously, I moved back into the room, feeling as if I was in the middle of doing a walk of shame. It reminded me of the morning-after

I gave her a grateful smile and picked up one of the brushes running it through my hair quickly, trying not to wince when it caught the knots and snags that had built upon each other over the last few days. I ignored the already fraying ends of my hair and quickly pulled it back, braiding it with deft fingers before looking around for something to tie it with. The maid, obviously trained well to anticipate people's needs, handed me a bright ribbon that was oddly flexible like rubber bands. I smiled my thanks again and wrapped the ribbon around the end of it. I forced myself to ignore my reflection, knowing there wasn't anything I could do until Erik got back and I was able to get something else to wear.I turned to the maid and tried to figure out how to ask her if she was the one to take me to my new room. With a judgmental eye, she looked me up and down before shaking her head and saying something else slowly. She was still hissing her words, but this time I caught the different w

My luck must be improving, I thought as I peeked around and saw the large wagon stopped right next to the house on its way out the gates. The creature pulling it resembled a horse in the mane and tail. But the rest of the body was either a bear, a dog, or both. The animal was exceptionally large, beautiful, and seemed incredibly docile. I watched its handler jump off its back before patting its nose and hissed something to the creature in a soft, soothing tone. The creature purred like a cat then sat down much like a dog would when told to stay. The guards joined the wagon driver next to the creature and began talking to one another like old friends. My heart sped up as I realized that they had inadvertently left the gate unguarded. I knew my opportunity wouldn't last long, and I had to take advantage of it. Keeping my body low, I hurried to the back of the wagon and pressed up against it, slowly moving along the side, trying to keep out of their view. The clattering of the village

After hours and hours of walking back and forth several times, I did not come across the trail, or any kind of trail at all, to be honest. To make matters worse, it was getting colder as the night began to fall.My stomach growled, reminding me that I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. Yet another worry to add to the pile of worry that was building in my mind. "This has got to be one of the top ten dumbest decisions I have ever made," I grumbled to myself as I slumped on a rock, giving up on moving any further in the dark. There were plenty of branches around that had fallen from the trees, and I thought for a moment about making a fire and possibly cooking something over it. "Oh, get real, Mara!" I snapped as I wrapped my arms around my knees, trying to hold on to what little heat I had left. "You are not a girl scout and wouldn't know how to hunt unless it was on a good bargain for the meat you cook on your stovetop." Shivering harder, I let my mind wander back home, trying to

I gasped in pain and pulled my arm back and cradle it to my chest as the person's voice finally broke through the fear-filled haze of my mind. "Dammit, Mara. It's me, Erik.""Erik?" I breathed in disbelief."Yes. You know... your brother..." "Erik," I repeated as if that single name was my lifeline."It's okay, Mara. You're safe now," he reassured me softly. I threw myself into his arms and tried to catch my breath. Over his shoulder, I could see the two bodies still wrestling around on the ground. Their claws catching the light from the planet giving off an eerie glint as they dripped with blood. With strength that I've only seen in the movies that depicted supernatural creatures, one shadow kicked the other off him and sent it flying into the trees. With the same speed, he jumped to the immobile creature in a blink. He lifted his hand high then slashed it down towards the body. I hid my face in my brother's neck, not wanting to see the killing blow. "Tohr," my brother called out

The gentle sun was bathing my face in warmth the next morning as I awoke and found myself staring up at the same image from yesterday. A gorgeous dragon was above my head, poised and ready to roar or breathe fire. I tried to make out the symbols that circled it as I slowly sat up in the bed. "Beautiful, isn't it?" Tohr's voice came to me. I wasn't surprised, having fallen asleep with him in my room last night. He had been kind enough to keep me covered. But I really should have known there was no way he would have left me alone. "Yes, it's very beautiful," I arranged the blanket under my arms so there was no chance it would fall. My face flushed, realizing he had seen me completely naked last night when I was distraught.I looked back to the runes again to get the attention off me. The weirdest thing about the runes was that I could almost recognize them. They were tickling the inside of my brain, yet I couldn't figure out exactly where I knew them from. He squeezed my hand one more time before letting go. It was a small gesture, however with Treddian, who was raised in this world to not show affection to another man's woman or risk death, it was a huge step. I turned my attention to the last two people who stepped up to me and raised my eyebrows when I saw it was Ethallia and Synne. "What is it you need, my ladies?" Tohr asked them gently. "Your Majesty, we wish to plead our loyalty to the Queen, as well. Without her here, our lives would have been very different, and now we would be honored if she would accept them in return," Synne replied softly. "That is not necessary," I replied to them."Your Highness, with all due respect, you gave us our lives back and the courage to take charge of them. There is nothing we want to do more than to pledge them to you," Ethallia countered. I looked to Tohr for help. But he had stepped back and was allowing me to handle this. I stood and walked up to the ladies and took their hands. "Are yo

"Caylan," I called, getting his attention. Caylan turned and his icy blue eyes pierced through me as they started to turn slightly Draygonish. "Please… be patient… this… this is not our way, and she may end up hating you if you push too much," I pleaded with him. Caylan nodded to me. I wasn't sure if it was an agreement or acknowledgment. Either way, I was forced to stand there and watch as Caylan carried my new friend off to his 'Draygon lair'. "She will be fine, Mara. You know as well as I do, my little fyre, that a Draygon will do whatever it takes to make sure his mate gives him their heart," Tohr reminded me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed the top of my head. "Most of all, she is safe and protected." I nodded and sighed heavily, hoping one day she would forgive me for this. I felt as if I had to feed her to the wolves. Before I could contemplate or worry about anything, else Tohr was pulling me towards the front of the hall where the thrones were and had me s

-Little fyre. I am damned proud of you. You fought him with all the fyre inside your soul. Sólas would still be after us no matter what you had done. He is the one to blame for what we are going through right now. - I gave him a small smile and tried to let his words soothe me. "Thank you for warning me," I told Caylan. "I appreciate all that you have done for us." "You do not have to thank me, Your highness. It was the least I could do after everything you both did for my people. I, however, did wish to thank you for bringing our princess back." My eyes widened. "Gabby?" As if my words summoned her, Gabby walked in like the princess she was descended from. She looked around the room. As soon as she spotted us, she made a beeline for the group, and the look on her face was one of anger. "Ohhh hell," I whispered in English. "You!" she snapped at me. "You have been back for how long? And you have not stopped to say hi?" "Gabby, I'm so sorry! I just… Ummm," I floundered for a reas

I turned and grabbed her shoulders. "Even if you weren't mated to my brother and my favorite guard, you would still belong here." The tears Ethallia was holding back burst open and poured down her cheeks. I hugged her again until the sniffing stopped, and I could tell she was feeling better. I caught bits and pieces of her thoughts, and they were just as sweet as her words. I gave her one last strong hug struggling to control my own tears.-You okay, mate? - Tohr asked concerned. -Yes, mate. I am just so happy right now. - I replied, coating my words with the love I felt for him and these people. He sent back his love letting it wash over me. -I'm so glad, my little fyre. Now hurry so I can have you in my arms again. -I laughed slightly and pulled away from Ethallia. "Alright. My own mate seems to be whining cause I'm not close. Can you help me finish this up?" I asked her, pushing at my quickly drying hair. She nodded and pushed me towards the chair. Under her quick and daft fing

I giggled breathlessly yet didn't deny either of his claims. He set me down on my feet, being sure to hold onto me until I was able to stand on my weak knees. With my head cleared of him, I realized that we were still in one of the main hallways to the castle. Anyone could have walked in and seen what we were doing. Tohr chuckled. "I'm pretty sure the whole world heard you coming, mate." His wink on the innuendo, then again knowing him it wasn't an innuendo at all, caused my cheeks to flush, and I smacked his arm. He laughed and pressed a kiss to my nose before pulling me down the hall to our room. When he opened the door, I saw Ethallia and Synne standing there waiting for me. The adjoining door to the bathroom area was open, and I could smell the scented oils they used for the bath. A wide smile crossed my face, and I practically raced to the bathroom. I slammed the door shut on their surprised faces before I jerked the veils off and practically jumped in. The water was a little t

-Green, huh? - I thought with a smile. -So apparently, my mate is a descendant of the Narhas'fa, huh? - I gave him a goofy Draygana grin. -I guess I am. Do you think you can live with that? - He smoothed his hand down my scales sending shivers down my spine. "Yes, my mate. Even if you had never been a Draygon at all I would still love you the same," he admitted before backing away and changing. As his own Draygon was released, he braced his front feet and let out a loud yell calling to his mate. Me. I braced my feet and returned the call. To anyone else, it would have sounded horrifying or scary. However, to us, it was a beautiful ballad. With one hard flap of his wings, he was off into the sky and began to circle the area waiting for me. I watched him for a moment admiring the grace with which he soared through the sky. For such a big creature, Tohr was agile and swift that I loved watching him fly. The need to join him overpowered me until I was shoving off the ground and s

I only looked back up when I knew they were fully changed. Treddian was an enormous Golden Draygon. Beautiful and vibrant, his head sprouted two horns that bent slightly backward but ended with two extremely sharp-looking tips. His back was relatively free of spikes until the very tip of his tail held one deadly-looking spike. I couldn't remember seeing anything like that on Tohr and made a mental note to ask about it. -Treddian's has some Silver Draygon in him. - Tohr explained. -They sport those tiny spikes on their tails and a little mustache that comes out the sides of their nostrils. It is a rare thing nowadays to see a silver Draygon. They were obsessed about only mating with their own kind. As such, they have almost driven themselves to the brink of extinction. - Tohr explained. -I thought you guys only mated with the ones you bond with. But according to Sólas and now these silver Draygons, it seems not necessary. - I asked, suddenly remembering Sólas's words about how that wa

Quiet voices woke me slowly. They sounded close but not close enough for me to make out what they were talking about. However, even those quiet voices were not the reason I had woken up. No, my Draygana insisted that I investigate why voices were disturbing our sanctuary and why our mate was not beside us. I groaned in agitation and tried to quiet her down. -Be still, my mate. It is your brother and his mates who come to check on us and give us an update. - Tohr's voice ran through me like fingers stroking down my spine in comfort. I smiled softly and allowed him to soothe both my Draygana and me. She purred and preened, then dropped away calm now that she knew he was okay. I couldn't help rolling my eyes at her internally, then stretched, allowing myself to wake up a bit more. Realizing I was still naked, I flushed hard and looked around for something to cover myself with. I heard footsteps heading my way, and the search became a bit more frantic, not knowing who it was who would

I heard his growl once more pulled from the depths of him. His Draygon reared his head and pushing Tohr to give in to his mate. "Then you will have me, little fyre," he growled out loud, his voice sending shivers down my spine. He rose above me and locked his eyes with mine. I spread my legs wide, feeling his hard cock pressing just slightly against my dripping wet channel. I winced a little as he began to push in. I was by no means a virgin. However, I was not well experienced either. However, neither one of those men had been anywhere near as big as Tohr. Not to mention they had been a while ago. Despite how turned on I was, it was like he was my first again, and my body was struggling to allow him in. "Relax, sweeting. Your body will let me in. You are made for me," he whispered into my ear. His hands slide down my body finding my nipples and began to play with them once more. The discomfort began to slowly be replaced by pleasure as his fingers pulled and twisted at my nipples.
