70. Priority

Mom seemed pensive thinking of something. " Do you know them? " I asked my mom. Mom nodded her head. "They're very well known people like the Walker. But it's better if you don't know them at all. Hopefully they won't bother us again." Said mom then she stood up walking towards the sink with an empty plate.

I know mom doesn’t want to talk about it anymore. Mom always had a hard time when talking about dad’s family as if she didn’t want to remember the dark parts of her memory. Are they really that cruel?

I have had that doubt in myself since long ago even though I was a child. What if they are not as mom says? What if it was just a misunderstanding between them? Is it possible that one day they will have a good relationship again? Could I have met them before!

I sighed. There’s no point in urging mom to talk about it if it just makes her struggle to remember those bad memories. I feel bad for her. I don't know what she went through but she is a strong woman.
