The look on Gianna’s face is priceless.
Did she honestly believe that she could escape me?
I’m not a stupid man; I know what Emily told Gianna. I knew the moment Emily stepped foot in my office and told me that Gianna had escaped.
Emily is one of my strongest warriors; there’s no way Gianna could have gotten away from her unless Emily allowed it.
The useless bitch let jealousy get in the way of her job. For that, she’ll spend the next week in the cells without food or water.
I don’t take deception lightly, and aiding your Luna to run, is a crime. Emily should think herself lucky that I didn’t slit her throat where she stood.
I knew Gianna had run in her wolf form back to her house. Emily finally told me where she’d gone. I knew I’d need the car to drag her home; it would be easier than dragging her through the forest.
As I drove my car to find Gianna, I came across her family on the forest’s outskirts, looking for her.
I pulled the car over and yelled Antonio’s name. Of course, he and his family were shocked to see me there, even more so when I told them that Gianna was my mate.
Antonio, Gianna’s father, didn’t take the news well that I’d be taking his daughter with me. The fool even tried to negotiate with me.
The man has nothing that I want other than his daughter.
Mate bonds are tricky things. You can fight them ’til the cows come home, but in the end, you will succumb to it, even if that’s just sexually.
I don’t plan on keeping Gianna forever, but right now, I want her badly. I fucking ache to be inside of her, so deep that I don’t know where either of us begins and the other ends.
Valsurus had been restless, wanting Gianna’s wolf as much as I wanted Gianna. The randy bastard tried to break free and run to her. Of course, I stopped him; I couldn’t let Valsurus scare Gianna any more than she already was.
I was fine until Gianna ran from me. As soon as I realised she’d gone, my thoughts were consumed with finding her and bringing her back.
That doesn’t mean Emily is right either; I don’t want that slut. Emily was fun for a while, but once with that woman was enough for even me.
Emily is crazy, not in the way I’m crazy, but she’s insane when it comes to keeping what she believes is hers.
Emily staked claim to me after one night together; if you call two hours a night. She even walks around the packhouse telling anyone who will listen that she’s their Luna. Of course, I soon put that to rest. The woman is not Luna of Silver Paw, and she never will be. The sooner she gets that through her head, the better.
Gianna is now Luna of Silver Paw, whether Emily or even I like it or not. Shit, Gianna doesn’t even like it. But thanks to the way I dragged Gianna back to the packhouse, all pack members know that she is their Luna.
Hell, everyone heard me yell Mate, and the news spread like wildfire. Now they’re excited for the first time since I became Alpha.
Every pack craves a Luna because Luna’s keep the Alpha strong, and in turn, he keeps the pack strong. Once the Alpha finds his mate, his pack members bend over backwards for, said, mate.
Now, the pack are nervous to hear their Luna of just over an hour has left. Bringing her back is more for them than it is for me.
They have nothing to fear; this time, she won’t be getting away so easily.
“I’m not going anywhere with you! Dad,”
I rub my forehead with my fingertips and try to repress a smirk.
“Tell him to leave, please.”
“I’m sorry, Gia, I can’t do that.”
“Why?” She practically screams in frustration. “You’re my father! I don’t want to be mated to him; he’s crazy.”
“Sweetheart, you don’t have a choice but to go with Lorcan.”
Even though I can see that Gianna’s mother wants to tell me to ‘go to hell’, she tries to convince her daughter to leave with me.
I don’t know why I haven’t thrown Gianna over my shoulder yet, but I’m slowly losing patience.
“I’m not going!” Gianna looks me right in the eye. “I, Gianna Louisa Astoni,”
“Argh!!”
“Bella!”
I watch the scene unfold.
Gianna’s sister is sinking to her knees with her hands on either side of her head. The pain she’s feeling right now will be that of a vice crushing her skull.
Antonio and Sofia rush to Bella’s side while Gianna stares at me wide-eyed.
“What did you do?”
It doesn’t take much concentration for me to crush someone’s skull. I could do it in the blink of an eye, and if I wanted Bella dead, she would be by now.
Being a wolf-vampire hybrid brings many abilities, including the power to kill with little effort in terrible ways.
Daddy dearest won’t be happy with what I’m doing here. Antonio and Bella are good at their jobs within my father’s army. But that means nothing to me, I want what I came for, and I won’t leave until I get it.
“Just a little mind control. You don’t get to reject me, little wolf.”
“Why? That’s what you plan to do to me, so why draw it out!?”
I chuckle at how feisty she is; I like it.
“You have around five seconds before your sisters skull concaves.”
“You can’t do that! Please let her go,”
“That’s up to you, now, isn’t it? Leave with me, and I let her live. Refuse, and I’ll kill her, then I’ll drag you out of here anyway.
“In the end, I get what I want. Save your sister or watch her die; the choice is yours. Times ticking, Gianna.”
I see a war waging in her eyes. Gianna wants to tell me to go to hell, but I know that she won’t. She stares at her sister as blood pours out of her nose.
“Gianna, for Goddess sake!” Her father yells, causing her to jump. “What the hell are you playing at? Go with him and save your sister!”
“Please,” Her sister manages to gasp out around her screams. Her eyes are now so bloodshot there’s no white left.
I can’t wipe the smirk off my face as Gianna turns to me with gritted teeth.
“Fine, I’ll go with you. Just let my sister go.”
“What’s the magic word, little wolf?”
Gianna growls through her gritted teeth. She’s a strong, dominant one, and I may have my work cut out with this one.
“Please.”
I break the hold I had over her sister, and Bella slumps to the floor, gasping for breath.
Gianna makes a move to help her, but I grab her arm.
“Leave her, go and pack; you have five minutes. Don’t make me come and find you, or what you just witnessed will be the least of your worries.”
“I hate you,” Gianna hisses through her teeth.
I chuckle. “The feeling is mutual, little wolf. Four minutes.”
She yanks her arm from my grasp and takes off to her room.
“What the hell was that?” Antonio gets in my face. “You could have killed my daughter!”
I flip my head slightly, sending him flying through the air and crashing into the nearest wall.
Both Bella and Sofia scream.
“Don’t test me, Antonio.”
He looks up at me, shock written all over his face.
“I am not the Dalgaard to mess with. I don’t give a shit about you or your family nor what happens to any of you. Gianna is my mate, and I’m taking her with me. Say goodbye while you can,”
“Wait,” Sofia gets to her feet. “Are you saying that I won’t get to see my little girl again once she leaves here?”
I open my mouth to speak, but I’m cut off.
“No, Mum, that’s not what he’s saying.”
Gianna drops her duffle bag in my hand.
I stare at it, trying not to lose my temper at how disrespectful she’s being toward me, her Alpha!
“If he wants me to behave, he’ll let me see you soon. I have to go with him; that doesn’t mean I have to make things easy for him.”
‘Oh, my Goddess!’ My wolf laughs loudly. ‘You sure know how to pick ’em. This is your comeuppance; you know that, don’t you? The Goddess has paired you with the one woman who isn’t scared of you!’
‘Sure she’s not.’
‘She’s scared of what you’ll do to her family if she doesn’t go with you. She’s not scared of you personally, Lorcan. You’ll come to see that soon enough.’
Gianna moves to hug her mother, but I grab her arm and stop her. The girl disrespected me, and I cannot have that.
I drag Gianna towards the front door, all the while she’s yelling for me to let go. Her family are chasing after us, begging for me to allow them a proper goodbye. Not happening; this little bitch blew that chance when she opened her mouth to speak against me.I open the door to Harper’s black Nissan Juke and throw Gianna inside. Not the best car in the world when you’re my size, but her car was closer to the front door than mine. It’s not like Harper could tell me now when I asked for the keys. Bitch almost shit herself and gave me the keys without question.“Put your seat belt on,”I slam the door and lock it with the key fob. I can’t have Gianna trying to escape again, not that I think she will, after what I almost did to Bella.
I hate him.I hate him so much it hurts!Lorcan marked me without my permission, and I will never forgive him for that. It was so painful that I almost passed out.How could he do that to me?I know I pushed the limits, but did he have to mark me and chain me to him? What he did is against wolf law, and if I could get a message to the King, I’d request he rein his son in!Men have been killed for marking their mates against their will. But I know that would never happen to Lorcan; he’d get away with it because he’s a prince.Lorcan was right when he said that his father would do nothing about this.So where would telling the King anything get me?That’
I’ve been in the garden now for hours. The cold air is starting to nip at my nose. Time to go back in there.I walk towards the house, wondering if Lorcan is going to find me anytime today. Why do I even care?As I near the building, I notice Lorcan through one of the lower windows. That must be his office, but who are those people inside with him?My heart starts thumping hard in my chest. My veins begin to pound, and my canines begin to slide out of my gums.Who the fuck is the whore in Lorcan’s arms? And why it is bothering me so much?Possibly because if he does anything with her, even a kiss, I’ll feel it. I’ve heard how painful that can be, feeling everything your mate does wit
I cry to myself, thinking about Mason and how he’d never hurt me the way Lorcan does. I miss Mason so much; I want to go home and feel his arms around me, keeping me safe. Not once in my life have I ever feared Mason and what he might do to me. Sure, I’ve angered him more than once, but he’s never hit me. Mason argues back, but he never wins because I don’t stop until he gives up and walks away. That’s just who I am. I’m dominant and pushy, but do I deserve to be beaten for doing something that comes naturally?Mason and I knew we weren’t mates, but we loved each other. We spoke about what would happen if either of us found our mates. Mason and I knew it would hurt, but we’d let each other go because the pull of the mate bond should not be fought. We also swore that we’d always b
“Wow,” Luther sits back in his chair and rakes his fingers through his long hair.I just got done telling my brother’s and their mates about Gianna. Needless to say, they’re all shocked, even they didn’t believe I’d find my mate. Not this soon, at least. My office is a big room. Victorian architecture gives the place that old-fashioned feeling. It must be the vampire in me, but modern-day architecture doesn’t do it for me. However, I’d be a liar if I didn’t have modern furnishings.Leander and Sara are sitting on the plush sofa near the open fire. Their fourteen-month-old son, Drew, is sleeping in his mother’s arms.Luther and Jenna are sitting in the two chairs in front of my desk. Of course, I’m behind the desk, telling them everything.
“Who the hell is Mason?”I scream while spinning on the spot. I didn’t hear Lorcan enter the room, but I figure he must have been standing outside the door while I spoke to Mason.Great.“Lorcan,” I swallow hard while taking a step back in fear.I’ve had enough beatings for one day. I don’t think I could handle anymore.“Who is he, Gia?”I back away even more as Lorcan steps towards me. The back of my legs hit the bed, and I fall on my arse with a gasp.“Please, Lorcan,”“Answer me!” He bellows so loudly that I cringe.“He’s my boyfriend.”Lorcan gra
I don’t think I’ve ever been so uncomfortable in my entire life. When Lorcan brought me into the living room where his family were waiting, I didn’t know where to look.I wasn’t sure if Jenna, as Lorcan introduced her, would forgive me. However, she accepted my apology with a smile on her face.Of course, I know who Luther and Leander are; everyone in the Kingdom knows them. Though I couldn’t tell them apart, they both, along with Lorcan, are identical in almost every way. Everything from their shoulder-length dark hair to their blue eyes and toned muscles.I hadn’t realised three people could look so similar, which makes me even more stupid for not recognising Lorcan upon first meeting him.I imagine Lorcan, Luther, and Leander’s personalities are very different. Plus, Lorcan has tattoos, e
I couldn’t believe my brothers would accuse me of rape!Of all the things, it had to be that.I’ll admit that I was a little rough with Gianna that day, but she wanted what I offered. Had she told meno, I would have backed off. I’m a monster, but I’m no rapist.Gianna is my mate, and if I want her, then I’ll take her, simple! Both Luther and Leander gave me hell. Nothing I said made any difference to what they believed to be true.I wanted to smack both of them in the face, break their jaws or necks. Either would have been fine!I know my brothers don’t think well of me, and why would they when I’ve never
“You know why you’re all here, don’t you?”“Yes, Daddy.” Eight out of nine of my children answer.“Why are you here?”Sienna is the one to reply. As always, the rest have appointed their older sister spokesperson.“Because Angel went crying to Mummy.”“I beg your pardon?!” I yell loud enough for all eight to whimper. “How dare you, Sienna?”“I’m sorry, Daddy.” She sighs.“Angel did not go crying to anyone. Your mother figured out what was wrong! I must say that I am very disappointed in all of you.”Each child hangs their head in shame.“Angel is three years
“It’s Daddy and me. I wanted to give it Daddy for his wall like the others.”I smile while trying not to cry. Each one of our older children has at some point drawn a picture of themselves with Lorcan. For each drawing, Lorcan framed and hung it on the wall in his office. Angel wanted to do the same, and I have to wonder why she didn’t give it to him.“Why didn’t you give this to Daddy?”“Dean said Daddy don’t want drawing from stupid Omega like me. I just want my picture on the wall.” She sniffs back her emotions. “Why Daddy don’t love me?”Holy fuck, I can’t breathe!“Oh, baby girl, your daddy loves you so much.” My heart shatters.I lift my
Eight Years Later“Hey, baby girl.” I smile while taking a seat next to my three-year-old daughter.Angelica, or Angel as we call her, is the seventh of my nine children. Lorcan and I are expecting our tenth in three weeks. After Sienna was born, we were blessed with twins, Dean and Damon, born ten months after Sienna. Then came Trystan, Aaron, and Allen, all born within three years of each other. Angelica, and lastly, our second set of twins, Corey and Caden, are now eighteen months of age.Baby Alessia will be with us real soon, and she is our last. When I said this to my mate, he laughed, but he finally realised that I was serious. Ten children in eight years are enough for anyone.Lorcan and I have the most children in the family. Lilly and Leande
I cup Lorcan’s cheek, drawing his eyes from a burning Nancy and to me. He blinks, clearly shocked by what he just witnessed me do.The thing is, I don’t even feel slightly guilty for setting that bitch on fire. Sure, she was alive when I did it, but it was no more than she deserved.I meant what I said to the pack; no one will ever get away with hurting my mate again. It drove me crazy the past couple of days, thinking about that cunt and what she almost did to Lorcan. I couldn’t bear it one more second; that’s why I had this whole thing set up. I wanted to make an example of Nancy in front of the pack. I hadn’t a clue at first that Anja had taken it upon herself to draw Victor out. When Anja came to me an hour ago and told me that she’d found Victor, I was shocked. Of course, I asked Anja how in the hell she managed to do what
“Are you sure? Like, one hundred per cent? No mistakes?”Luther chuckles while clasping my shoulder.“I’m positive, Lorcan. Though I’m not happy that Mum did what she did, no one is, to be honest. But Mum would do anything for us, and for you, she brought Victor in. It’s the truth, I promise you.”I nod my head, thoughts rushing through my brain at high speed. My mother took it upon herself to find Victor, incapacitate him, and kill his followers. How the fuck did she manage that in the two days I took off to be with Gianna and Sienna?I sent warriors to search for Victor, told them not to return until they found him. Once they had, they were to bring him to me, dead or alive. Of course, I would rather have him alive, but I knew
I knock on Harper's door with the back of my hand and wait for an answer. Yet none comes, making me wonder if Harper is really in there. This can't go on. Whatever Harper is thinking, she's wrong because none of what happened was her fault. I know Harper well enough to know that she's in some way blaming herself for my abduction.I sigh when I still get no answer, but I won’t give up. If Harper is in there, I’ll find out; that’s why I twist the doorknob. Luckily, the door isn’t locked, so I walk inside and close the door behind me.Harper is sitting in a white rocking chair next to her window. She’s holding her baby son, who is wide awake, looking right at his mummy. Harper hums to Cyro while stroking the back of his head. Cyro is beautiful with soulful brown eyes and fixated on his mother.“You a
I blow out a nervous breath as I stand outside Harper's room. I shouldn't be anxious to see my best friend, but I am. I haven't seen Harper since I returned two days ago.Okay, it's partially my fault; after falling asleep with Lorcan that first night, we decided to spend the following day as a family.Lorcan, Sienna and I spent the day getting to know one another. There were no interruptions on Lorcan's orders, and everyone listened. The three of us spent the whole day together, and I love watching Lorcan with Sienna. The way my mate interacted with our daughter was something to behold. After we got ready for dinner last night, there was a moment that stopped my heart. I walked out of the bathroom after fixing myself in there. I only did so as not to choke Sienna with deodorant and perfume. I
“Where is this, Wendy now?” Lorcan asks once my story comes to an end.I rush to sit up in front of my mate.“Lorcan, please. I know that Wendy helped Victor take me, but she didn’t have a choice; her son’s life was on the line. Just imagine what you would do if someone had Sienna. You and I both know you would have done the same in Wendy’s position.“Wendy never hurt me, Lorcan, and she helped bring out little miracle into the world. Not only that, but she brought Sienna and me home just in time for Sienna to save you. If Wendy hadn’t, we wouldn’t be together like this. Please don’t hurt Wendy. Please, Lorcan.”Lorcan tips his head to the side, regarding me closely. My eyes are darting all over the place!Lorcan lifts his head with a s
After Lorcan and I stopped crying, we returned to our room and got dressed in PJ’s. Now we’re on the bed, side by side with our backs against the headboard.Lorcan checked on Sienna, and I thought he’d be bringing her back to our room. But he returned without our little girl, saying she was fast asleep.I’m not sure I want to be without Sienna so soon; I don’t think I could settle. Lorcan said that he’d collect her as soon as we’ve talked things through. I could do nothing but agree.“I don’t know how it happened,” I entwine my fingers with Lorcan’s and pull his hand to my chest, kissing his knuckles. “I was feeling a bit out of sorts, missing my parents.” I shrug my shoulders.“I went to our garden for some fresh air. I let the guards know to tell y
