What's Happening To Me?

Ever since Elias triggered his curse, Jordan never left his side. He insisted on teaching him everything he needs to know about being a werewolf. This made Elias more confused about himself. Jordan told him that being a werewolf is hereditary. Half-bloods are more complicated because they always have a hard time controlling their wolf side. Meaning, they are more aggressive than the purebloods. Jordan said that he could be pure blood because the only time Jordan heard about a white wolf was from a powerful pack led by a female alpha. The white wolf was the pack's beta. He said that white wolves were said to be purified by the moon goddess herself.

"How's Elias?" Jordan asked Miguel. Until now, he's still uncomfortable being with Jordan. Turns out, Miguel was from a family of vampire hunters. They came from a long line of hunters blessed a witch.

"He's still locked up in there." Miguel pointed to Elias's room. "He won't come out, he won't even talk to me." Miguel's obviously worried about his friend.

"Just give him time. He's confused about what going on with him." Jordan explained. "He was a normal angry guy before all this happened. Now, he's an angry guy who turns into a wolf every full moon. Imagine, how that's like?"

Jordan and Miguel turned when they heard the door to Elias' room opened. They saw Elias walked out of the room with his head down. He looked so depressed and he doesn't look like he's been sleeping. He walked past them to the kitchen to get his food and then he walked back to his room. Jordan shook his head in pity for Elias. How he wishes that won't have to go through all this. But what's bugging his mind is who Elias really is.

"I don't know how to talk to him, man," Miguel admitted. "I don't know how to help him."

"Just be there for him. He will face difficult decisions now that he already triggered his werewolf curse." Jordan looked directly into Miguel's eyes. "I'll be back before the next full moon. I just have to investigate something."

"What? You'll leave?" Miguel asked Jordan. "What about Elias?"

"I have to. Just stay with him and don't let him out of your sight." Jordan said to him with a serious tone.

When Jordan left, Miguel knocked on Elias's door. He wanted to talk to his friends. He wanted to know how he feels and what his plans are. Being a vampire hunter, Miguel and his family worked with werewolves to kill vampires. One thing he learned about werewolves is their violent behavior. They are very aggressive and hot-headed. He tried to knock multiple times but Elias won't open the door.

"El, if you're ready to talk, I'm here okay?" He sincerely said. "I'll do my best to answer your question." But he still didn't get any answers from him.

Miguel remembered his late father's journal. He thought that it might help Elias to understand more about the supernatural. He went to his room to get his father's journal. Then he knocked on Elias' door again.

"El, I'll have to go out to buy some grocery supplies. I will leave my father's journal outside your room. You can read it as long as you want. This may help you more to understand what it is to be a werewolf like you." Miguel put the journal in front of the door.

Zel has been looking everywhere for Elias. It's been two weeks since he left. She didn't even notice he's gone until supper. Zel felt like she failed Elias. She vowed to care for him and protect him. The first time Zel met Elias, she already the kid the had the same affliction as hers. His behavior was too obvious for a pureblood like her. Zel's thoughts were interrupted by a knock on her door. Thinking that it could be Elias, she immediately to open it.

"What do you need Sheriff?" Zel asked her visitor with a bored tone

"Where's Elias?" Sheriff Martinez asked her directly. "He hasn't come to work for a week."

"He left." Zel tried to shut the door after answering but Sheriff Martinez was quick to stop her.

"You took the responsibility of taking care of him and now, the only thing you would tell me is that he left!" The sheriff couldn't contain his emotion. He wanted to take Elias under his care but Zel blocked his effort.

"Do you think I want this? I was trying to help him!" Zel answered angrily. "You don't know what's happening to him!"

"And you do? Huh!" Sheriff Martinez tried to cam himself. "You have no idea what's going on with him. I shouldn't have let him stay with you."

"Get out of my porch, Sheriff." With that, Zel went back to the house and slammed the door.

Because of so much anger, Zel broke anything she could get her hands on. She was so frustrated with how she let Elias out of her sight. With his condition, he could be in trouble already. Zel remembered the time when Elias almost killed a man he saw beating a young girl in the park. The man was trying to get the girl to the dark parts of the park to rape her. It was a lucky coincidence that Elias was running that night.

He broke the man's nose, three of his ribs, his left arm, and his rib. That was the case that triggered the psychiatric examination of Elias. The psychiatrist diagnosed Elias with having Intermittent Explosive Disorder. I almost laughed he told me about it. He was required to take medicines to help him control his emotions but it made him lose his focus.

Elias didn't have any psychological issues. Nobody understands him and his father trying to kill him every day certainly didn't help. Zel grabbed her phone and dial the number of a person she knew could her with her predicament. This man was the best tracker he knew. She has no other choice.

"I need you to find a man named Elias Grunt," Zel said to the person on the other line.

Elias wanted to understand what is really happening to him so he took the journal Miguel left at his door. It was owned by his father. Elias was fascinated by how his father documented every encounter with the supernatural. He already knew what he is. A werewolf. Werewolves turn to wolves on a full moon. They have violent behavior, extra strength, and speed. Their senses are also heightened. Wolfsbane is a poison against a werewolf. There are different kinds of wolfsbane and how to cure them. But what caught his attention was an article in the journal about how someone can be a werewolf.

Genes. The only way for someone to be a werewolf is if it runs in the family. It is a curse placed on an ancient tribe and the descendants of the tribe are the only ones who got the genes. This realization made him think about his father and mother. His mom doesn't look like she got the genes but his dad seems to fit the description. He wanted to fully understand his werewolf side so he decided to go back to Thorn to talk to his dad.

"El? Hey, Woah!" Miguel was shocked to see Elias with his backpack. "Where are you going, man?" He asked.

"Back to Thorn. I have to talk to my father. I think he knows what's happening to me." Elias attempted to walk out of the house but Miguel stopped him.

"Hey, man. Wait up. Think about this, okay?" Miguel tried to reason with him. "You can't just go back Thorn and tell your dad " hey! I turn into a wolf every full moon. Do you?". Miguel sarcastically said.

"I have to, man. I need to. I need to fully understand who and what am I." Elias said apologetically.

"It's not your dad who could help. You can't go back." Miguel still insisted.

"I'm sorry, Migz. Please tell Jordan I said thank you.
