Hazel's POV

Then a wolf crept out of the trees and faced me head on. Vaguely, I could sense other wolves in the trees, but they kept out of sight.

The wolf turned to his human form.

"Hazel," the person said. "Damian tells me you have an iron will,"

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I am Vance," the man replied, his voice laced with a dark edge. "I've heard tales of your ruthless reign, Alpha King. But tales can be deceiving, can't they?"
