Lycidas' POV

I set out in a sprint and slid between Mia and the animal. Without hesitation, I charged forward, my claws slashing through the air with lethal precision as I aimed for the bear's exposed throat. The creature snarled in pain as my claws found their mark, blood pouring from the wound as it staggered backwards, momentarily stunned by the ferocity of my attack. But it could never be that easy.
