Silas
I have never slept as good as last night. Having Lux sleep in my arms was the most serene experience. And waking up with her still there in the morning was even better.I stared down at her face for the longest time, just enjoying being in her presence.
When her eyes fluttered open, I was grateful that she couldn’t see me staring. Her opal eyes are something I’ll never get tired of seeing, but this is the first time I’ve really been able to see them this close.
I noticed that the pink and blue hues inside the white seemed to move as if they had a life of their own. It was captivating.
Lux says, “Good morning.”
I smile and kiss the top of her head as I say, “Good morning, sunshine.”She grins and says, “Kai gave us permission to leave last night. So, are you ready for a trip to New York?”I purse my lips and say, “I need to make a call first. Is that okay?”She nods and says, “I’m going to go to my room anKaiGenevieve is finally awake, and she is able to move her whole body. I was so happy I cried. She watched me with an amused expression before hugging me and telling me she was happy to be with me.We walk downstairs to the dining room, and I try not to be too protective, but it’s hard for me to not just wrap her up in my arms and keep her like that forever. She looks over her shoulder at me as if she can sense my discomfort and she states, “Kai, I’m fine.”I nod, “I see that… but-”She shakes her head, “No buts, Kai. Let’s move on. I’m okay and that’s all that matters.”I smile, she’s right. I’ll stop arguing her. We walk into the dining room, and I smile when I see Lux and Silas sitting across from each other and my dad is at the head of the table. My feet stop moving when I see him. He’s showered, he shaved, he actually looks like
LuxFlying is a horrid thing indeed.Stuck in a small metal tube flying high above solid ground, unable to hear the soothing sounds of nature or other people. No, only able to hear everything mechanical, the deafening wind, and the sound of the other four people on this plane.Silas tried to talk to me and distract me, but it didn’t work. He ended up placing headphones over my ears and turned classical music on high in an effort to make me relax. It worked a little, he held my hand the whole time and rubbed it soothingly. But I couldn’t help but take a breath of relief when we finally made it to land. He brought my hand up to his lips and said, “Now, my dear, should we rest for the night or get to work?”I smile, “Get to work if we can. It’s a Saturday night in New York, surely the Sinclair’s are up to something fantastic tonight.”“I’ll see what I can fin
LuxThis place is busy. But, what else can you expect from New York City?My dress is comfortable, it fits me well and based off the way Silas’s heart beats a little faster when he sees me, I know that he finds me attractive. The opera singing was… loud. I had never gone before so it was an interesting experience. I can sense a lot of werewolves and most seem high ranked. I wonder how many are visiting the city and how many have a pack near here.Silas mutters, “Interesting.”I ask softly, “What is?”“Do you know who Mason Maverick is?”I nod, “He’s a famous actor, also happens to be a werewolf. He’s certainly made a name for himself considering the fact he doesn’t live a normal pack life like the rest of us.”“From what I’ve heard, he’s also Marinette Sinclair’s friend.”I raise my eyebrows
SilasI watch as Mason glares at Lux, he obviously doesn’t like the fact that she called him out. He huffs, “I don’t understand why you need to know where she is.”Lux doesn’t miss a beat as she responds, “It doesn’t matter if you understand or not, I need to know her location. You might be a good actor, Mason, but I can hear the change in your heartbeat. I know you know her location and you will tell me where she is.”“She’s in Canada.”I ask, “Why?”He looks me up and down and says in a defensive tone, “I know who she is, who are you?”Lux answers in an aggressive tone, “My mate.”He nods and my heart flutters hearing Lux stake her claim on me. She asks, “Where in Canada?”“She’s with the North River Pack, met a guy and he gave her a job and is helping her learn about the supernatura
LuxThe silence is deafening as I wait for Silas to respond back to me. He said that he's always been in love with me, surely that won’t ever change… right? He loves me, he must love me. I feel tears prickle in my eyes, threatening to pour down my face as I wait for his response. I begin to question why I put myself out here like this and suddenly he grabs my face and presses his lips against mine.I gasp and, in that moment, he takes the opportunity to be able to slip his tongue into my mouth and once I'm over the shock of what's happening, I kiss him back with as much desire and passion that he seems to have for me. I am desperate for him to know how much I love him and that I want to be with him.He needs to know that there is nobody else for me but also, if I’m honest with myself… there’s never been anyone for me other than him.Even when I was with Apollo, I was trying to make it w
Lux When the alarm went off early in the morning, I couldn’t help but groan in distaste. I hear Silas as he chuckles and pulls me closer to him, kissing my head before saying, “Good morning.”The sparks between us seem to be stronger as I gasp from the tingles sparking between us. He intertwines our hands and murmurs, “This is incredible.”I nod slowly in agreement and Kodi starts to purr in my head, completely satisfied with the fact she’s mated and connected with Jax. I sigh, feeling contentment wash over me. He says, “Come on, we can sleep on the plane ride, we need to meet Mason.”His statement makes me get out of bed, I almost forgot about Mason. I was a little too preoccupied with the events of last night that the purpose behind our trip slipped my mind. Once we finish getting dressed Silas takes my hand as we rush out of the hotel. I can’t help but smile from the bond I feel to him and I can’t help but b
SilasRelief floods through my veins now that the flight is finally over. After that first encounter, Mason wasn’t interested in talking anymore and spent most of the flight drinking.Lux never spoke during the flight, instead paying attention to her music and occasionally squeezing or rubbing my hand. As we get off the plane Mason says, “I have a car for us.”I look at him skeptically with one eyebrow raised and he rolls his eyes at me and says, “Chill, I’m not trying to hurt the princess or anything like that.”Lux murmurs, “He’s telling the truth. He has no ill intent.”I breathe out as I nod and after a few minutes a limo pulls up. We get inside with Mason, and he says, “Take us to the Lunar Café.”“Yes sir.” The driver responds. Before I can ask Mason says, “I called Marinette last night and asked her to meet us there
LuxIt’s weird being around Marinette. It feels unusually natural, almost like I’ve known her my entire life. I don’t know how else to describe it.Her baby, Marigold, fussed a little during the drive and I ask, “What made you pick her name?”“Oh, her biological father and I picked it out before he passed. If it was a girl, we want ‘Mari’ to be a part of her name because it’s kind of a tradition in my family. If it was a boy, he would’ve had an ‘A’ name just like the father.” Her voice sounds sad as she continues, “He wanted Marigold because he said that she would be more precious to him than gold.”“I’m sorry for your loss.”She takes a heavy breath and says, “It’s fine, it’s part of life unfortunately. He was a good man, an incredible boyfriend and fiancé… you know, Lux, you’re
