"Where to?" The driver asked after Celeste hopped into the back passenger's seat.
She leaned against her seat as she answered, "Back to the apartment."
There was nothing she could do about Dante for now. He bolted out of the house after confessing that he liked her. Although Celeste felt hurt by his sudden action, somehow, she still wanted to give him a chance to explain himself. There had to be a reason why Dante did it.
The worst part of all, Celeste's power synced with Dante's presence as if he was the answer to stabilize her power. It had never happened before, but certainly, she could feel it. She could feel Dante's presence resonated with hers. It was still too early to conclude it.
But then something else hit her like a truck. Celeste forgot that Dante was a werewolf and that his previous action was because of her. Her heart thumped against her chest as she realized another thing.

Vincent returned to the safe house and noticed there was nobody in it. The I.V drip was still hanging on the rack, but the needle was coated in blood as if someone forcibly pulled it out. Although the situation pointed that something had happened, Vincent chose not to think negatively. Even though Brandon was still in his rut, there was no way someone could defeat him easily. He had undergone numerous training during his days in the Council. Brandon was practically a killing machine if he desired to be.Nothing was indicating that he was attacked in the room. The safe house was fully reinforced and soundproofed. But the motion sensors in the perimeter had logged an intruder's presence a few minutes ago. Vincent sat down and typed on the keyboard, mapping the intruder's movement."The intruder had followed Brandon's tracks," he said to himself before an alert appeared on the screen.Something had happened in the west wing
"Your ability is the worst," Vincent grunted, running his hand in his hair.Leto didn't only have one ability, unlike other shapeshifters. In fact, Leto and Celeste were the only known shapeshifters who had more than one ability. But Leto's ability was far worst than others. The only reason he got this far fooling Brandon was that Leto had mimicked Celeste's existence down to the core. He was able to replicate her memories into his own, her scent, and anything about her. He got it all easily. Considering his close relationship with her, it wasn't hard for Leto to pretend to be her.Vincent patted Brandon's hand. "The woman is still somewhere in this building. He must've followed her when she was tracking you."Leto charged in before Brandon could say anything. He hardened his hand with diamond skin and sent a punch to Brandon, who used both arms to shield himself. The cracking sound of broken bones e
Celeste's eyes fluttered open, and her nose breathed in a familiar scent. Groaning with a hand pressed against her forehead, Celeste sat up and looked around. Nothing felt familiar. The bed smelled like Dante, and her clothes smelled exactly like him. His scent was everywhere in the room.Celeste's eyes widened before reaching for the door and rushed out, not knowing why she would smell Dante's everywhere but couldn't hear him anywhere."That's not it!" Leto's voice came from somewhere.Celeste made her way, following the sound of the voice until she stumbled into a room and saw Leto and Dante staring at a computer while an unknown man was doing something in the kitchen."What kind of unholy combination is this?" Celeste asked. She knew Leto always had a hard time trusting someone, let alone talking to someone and treating them like friends."Where am I? Where are we? And
Brandon sat in the waiting room, hands trembled on his lap as he waited for the doctor to come out of the ER. After what happened at the safe house, Brandon rushed Celeste to the ER because her eyes were bleeding, and he didn't know what to do as he listened to her moaning in pain with blood tears rolled down her cheeks.Rushing her to the ER seemed like the right thing to do. Now, here he was—sitting nervously and waiting for the doctor. Brandon felt like he wanted to barge in and demanded answers, but he kept himself calm. He wouldn't be able to think straight if his emotions got in the way. He was supposed to feel scared and everything because Celeste was his mate, but Brandon couldn't do that now. He had to stay calm and think rationally. Many lives depended on him."I couldn't contact him," Leto entered the
After the phone call, Brandon decided to meet Clavier, who had obtained permission from the Council to inform Brandon. Leto returned to the hospital when Brandon exited the room where Celeste was admitted."She just ate some meds and is resting inside," Brandon said to Leto. "Did you find anything?"Leto looked like he hadn't had a second to rest. His pale face was unusually paler than earlier. His clothes were messy, and his eyes looked weary. It wouldn't be a surprise if he suddenly collapsed from exhaustion at this rate."There's no sign of him using the safe houses he told us about. He could have hunkered down elsewhere," Leto replied. "Why did the doctor say about Celeste's condition?""Nothing o
"You know, you smell like wine," Brandon said as they stepped into the hospital's elevator."It'd be a surprise if I don't sweat wine at this rate," Clavier grumbled under his breath while looking at the medical report in his hands. "So, the doctors can't figure out what's causing the pain and blood tears?""They're just monitoring her for now. Is it possible for Lucien to do something like this?""He once manipulated someone to gauge their own eyes with their fingers," Clavier replied nonchalantly before looking at Brandon, whose eyes widened at his words. "I didn't mean to instill fear in you." The Daemon doctor let out a sigh. "To be honest, I never met Lucien in person.""Really?""I've known Stefano for whole my life, but I never crossed paths with Lucien. He only visited Stefano when he was alone in the castle. What I knew about Lucien was what Stefano and others told me. I
A black car stopped in front of a cafe by the beach, and a silver-haired man came out from the passenger's side while a black-haired and tanned-skin man stood before the shop, looking at him. His presence exuded a powerful authority aura that could make a mere mortal fall to their knees at the sight of his presence."It has been a long time, Shadow," the silver-haired man said."Young Master De Vincenzo," Shadow acknowledged him, opening the door to the empty cafe. "What brings you to come here?"Lucien unwrapped the scarf from his neck and put it on the chair before sitting down. "It was quite a commotion at the nightclub. Did your agents survive?""Alive and kicking. Did the Lord send you here?""No, I came on my own accord. The King has agreed to let me take over the Ministry of Defense with a condition. We have to rescue the damsel in distress first."The
Darkness.Complete darkness, even though the sounds came from everywhere. Even though the sounds were loud and clear, no images were constructed in Celeste's mind. The rain began to pour outside the hospital, adding more sound to Celeste's surroundings. There were many noises around her. Yet, her eyes still could only see the darkness. Maybe this was it. The ending of the Blind Bandit. She would just be grounded in her home, using the walking stick to get her around, and depended on someone to proceed with her daily life. How did it all end up this way?Celeste clenched onto her hospital gown. She hated it. The feeling she had right now, she hated it. It began to degrade her to the lowest pit of despair and devoured her inside out. Without her eyesight, she couldn't do anything. It made her feel weak and helpless. She hated it so much.Shadow betrayed her and Leto. Celeste still
