Fabio stood frozen in the doorway, his heart sinking as he watched Sophia hastily fold clothes into a suitcase. Her movements were frantic, her face tear-streaked, her hands trembling as they fumbled with the zipper. The sight of her packing to leave hit him like a punch to the gut.

“Sophia,” he called softly, stepping into the room. “What are you doing?”

She didn’t look up, her focus fixed on the task at hand. “What does it look like I’m doing, Fabio?” Her voice was thick with emotion, but beneath the tears, there was a cold finality that sent chills through him.

“Please, don’t—” He moved closer, but she held up a hand, stopping him in his tracks.

“Don’t come any closer,” she warned, her voice breaking. “Just... don’t.”

The room felt heavy with the weight of everything unsaid, everything that had been building between them for weeks. Fabio could hear his own heartbeat in his ears, his mind racing to find the right words, something—anything—that could stop her from leaving.
