Chapter 54 : Heart to Heart

The weeks following Fabio and Sophia’s return from their honeymoon were filled with the usual bustle of daily life. Between work commitments and settling into their new roles as husband and wife, time seemed to slip through their fingers. Despite the challenges, their bond grew stronger, and their love for each other deepened.

One evening, Fabio received an unexpected invitation from Thompson, Sophia’s father, to join him for a drink at his home. Fabio was surprised but agreed, sensing there was something important Thompson wanted to discuss.

When Fabio arrived, Thompson greeted him warmly. “Fabio, thank you for coming. Let’s sit out on the patio. It’s a beautiful evening.”

They settled into comfortable chairs overlooking Thompson’s meticulously kept garden. The air was cool and fragrant with the scent of blooming flowers. Thompson poured them each a glass of bourbon, then leaned back, his expression thoughtful.

“Fabio, I’ve been wanting to have this conversation for a while,” Thompso
