Raphael

Where the hell is she? The car should have been here half an hour ago. This was a new feeling for me, and I didn't like it. I paced around the foyer for what felt like an hour before the car finally arrived. I watched Walter exit the drivers side, and make his way to the back passengers door opening it.

Excitement filled my veins. My heart raced as I watched Ondina exit the car. Red is her color... She was wearing a long red satin dress. The sleeves joining her middle fingers. Her neck line was elegant, while the body of the dress seductive. The material clunged to her body like it was tailor made for her and released mid hip. Yup... I'm gonna have a hard time tonight... She turned her back to me, thanking Walter; revealing a dip in her dress that sat just above her ass. Shit.... Definitely gonna have a hard time tonight. Finally, she made her way to the entrance.

~~~
Ondina
Ondina tried to keep a steady pase as she walked towards the entrance. There's so many people... Entering the foyer, she couldn't help but stare in awe. She took in the expensive decor and the sparkling Chandlers. She had never seen a room so beautiful.
People in beautiful gowns and expensive suits were scattered everywhere. Suddenly feeling out of place, she wrapped her arms around herself and scanned the room. where is he? A tall red head caught your eye, and she immediately recognized her as the same redhead from the club. Ondina giggled at the memory.
She continued to scan the room and the feeling of inadequacy quickly replaced the humorous memory. Great. Now everyone’s looking at me. With panic rising to her throat, Ondina quickly turned for the entrance; smacking into a familar wall of muscle.
"There you are, beautiful." A shiver rippled down her spine at the warmth of his breath against her ear.
Raphael took a few steps back and extended his hand. Without hesitation, Ondina grabbed it and shook it. What?! Why would you shake his.. AAAHHHH. A smile broke over his face and Ondinas cheeks reddened.
As if the awkward encounter never happened, Raphael gently placed the hand she hadn't realized was still shaking his, on his right bicep, and Proceeded forward. Every eye in the room followed them as they ventured deeper into the hall. Ondina couldn't help but gasp at the sight of it. It was absolutely breathtaking. A beautiful trail of golden roses decorated the trimmings of every wall and white silk curtains drapped over every window pulled back by delicate golden rose clips.
They made their way into the main dinning hall and were stopped by a man and woman who looked to be in their late fifties.
"You've really out done yourself this year, Mr. Lahsen." The man said in a thick italian accent.
"Thank you, Mr. Moretti. As you know, I aim to make every Galla better than the previous."
Mr. Moretti smile spread across his face enhancing the size of his nose.
As Raphael continued his conversation with Mr. And Mrs. Moretti, Ondina proceeded to scanning the room, taking in the scenery. Maaan... If camie seen this shit!
"Ready to go?" Raphael asked leaning into her ear.
"Go where? I just got here." Ondina was genuinely confused. Her response brought a smile to his lips.
"I don't mean leave." He let out a light laugh and lead her through the room full of well dressed men and women. Nearly every head turned to watch where they chose to make home.
"Is it just me? Or are they all staring?" With the feeling of displacement returning, Ondina gripped Rapael tighter.
"They're just admiring beauty." He spoke softly into her ear.
"Full of yourself much?" Her response rang oblivion. A snicker escaped Raphaels lips.
"Not me, you." Ondinas cheeks grew twenty degrees hotter.
Raphael chose a table closest to the stage. Every space had a reserved name tag on them. He motioned for her to sit, and pulled the chair out in front of a space with her name on it.
"For you, love." Raphael encouraged her the sit. She accepted with a sweet smile, and he sat in the chair next to her.
"So... You got me here. What's next?" She asked.
"Well we sit here, and wait until they make an announcement, and then we go and look at some Art."
Excitement layered Ondinas heart. Although she was far away from being an artist, she admire the time and attention people would put into a piece. She couldn't wait to see what pieces they would have for auction. A smile broke across her face at the thought.
"You look beautiful when you smile." Raphael stated. A smile playing at the corners of his own lips. She could feel her cheeks heating up again. Why are you looking at me like that?
Staring into his eyes, Ondina couldn't break away. It was as if she was falling deeper into them, no longer in a hall around so many well dressed people, but in a room with just only them two. She could see the desire in his eyes, feeling it caress her body as he looked her over. She could feel her body react to his stare as if his hands were touching her. She couldn’t help the soft moan that escaped her lips. Her body was too aware of the man he was, and the woman in her ached for him. What is wrong with me? Raphaels eyes were now on her lips. Ondina bit down on her lip trying to contain herself.
"Mr. Lahsen." A voice cut through like a knife to the gut, and Ondina became painfully aware of her surroundings.
*********
Between guests coming to congratulate Raphael on the successful turn out, and him going to greet others, Ondina was beginning to feel out of place.
She didn't know a single person but him, and every time he left to greet someone, she couldn't help but feel lonely. It didn't help that she was becoming more and more aware of the huge gap between their social statuses either. Ondina stayed seated where he had left her, and fiddled with the corner of the table cover.
"Hello." A light voice caught Ondinas attention. Looking up away from her hands, her light brown eyes were greeted with green ones.
"I seen you sitting here, and I thought you might be bored." A woman in a pale pink mermaid dress stood infront of her. She had a fake tan, and golden man made curls in her hair.
"Oh, hello." Without an invitation the woman sat down in the seat next to her. Ondina shifted slightly away from her.
"So, your Raphael’s date." The woman continued with a plastic smile painted on her face. It was obvious to Ondina that she was playing mean girl. "I like your dress by the way. It's very... Unique."
Feeling a bit uncomfortable, Ondina announced, "I'm sorry, I never got your name." dismissing the womans comment.
"Oh, where's my manners." The woman said with a fake laugh, placing her hand to her chest. "I'm Celeste, and you are?"
"Ondina." She answered.
"That's… unique. I've never heard that one before." Celeste said looking uninterested.
"So, I've been told." Ondina replied dryly. Making note of the way she mentioned him, she asked.
"Are you and Raphael close?"
"We are more than close, we grew up together." A look of admiration clouded Celeste eyes. Ah, I see.
"How long have you known him?" Celeste asked.
"We don't know each other that well, but hopefully that changes." A smile coded Ondinas lips.
"I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you." A look of disgust crossed Celestes face. Okay, Regina, let’s do this.
"Oh, really? Why's that?" She asked Celeste, pretending to be concerned.
"He's a play boy. He has different women every month. Even if he did date you, he'll toss you the second he gets bored."
‘Now, finally something interesting.’ With the feeling of annoyance slowly approaching, Ondina asked, "Is that what he did to you?" with a look of amusement.
She could see Celeste fuming on the inside. "You think you're real funny don't you?" She responded with a glare. "Unlike those girls, I'm the one that got away." Her smerk returning.
"You sure it's not the other way around?" Ondina couldn't hold back the smile.
A now very red Celeste stood up abruptly. Through gritted teeth, she hissed "Bitch, you-“ before she could finish, Raphael interrupted.
"Is everything okay?" Ondina was so focused on Celeste she hadn’t even noticed he was there.
Concerned pulled his eyebrows together. She watched as shock crossed Celestes face. Planting a fake smile, she turned to face him.
"Yes! I seen your date sitting here and thought to be friendly." Celeste spoke falsely.
With amusement dancing around Ondinas face. "Did you, now?"
Ignoring her comment, Celeste reached forward and gently grabbed onto Raphaels arm. Amusement now completely gone, anger made its way into Ondinas belly and made camp there.
"Raphael, you've been so busy, I haven't seen you sense your nana's birthday." She pouted like a small child.
Rapheal casually removed his arm from her clutches. "It's just like you said. I've been busy."
The gesture settled any insecurity that started to form, making Ondina see him in a new light.
Pretending the gesture never happened, Celeste continued. "Too much work isn't healthy. Don't be a stranger, ok?" She gave him a wink before she turned to walk past him.
Ondina watched her as she walked away swinging her hips a little too hard. Annoyance filled her chest.
"Sorry about her..." Tearing her attention away from Celeste, she looked up at him.
"Don't be. She very… entertaining." They looked into each others eyes again. With Ondinas body coming to life again, she mentally broke away the rope that lassoed her to him.
"Auctions are about to start." Raphael stated, and on cue, an older woman in a red pants suit took to the stage.
    Raphael"Wow." Was all Ondina could say as we entered the gallery hall. She walked up to a piece full of odd shapes and colors. The look of admiration washed over her face. Feeling curious, I asked."What do you think of when you look at this?" She turned towards me but avoided my eyes. Why is that?"Frustration." Interesting. "Frustration?""Yes. I see frustration." Interested in more of what she had to say, I encouraged."Explain."Ondina turned back to the piece and examined it. She extended her arm and mimicked the shapes with her fingers."Nothing is consistent. It's almost as if the artist couldn't figure out what shape to make. Some lines are sharp while others are loose. Uneven really." She continued with her explanation."The colors... They overlap in an unattractive way... And the way they cut off- It shows exhaustion." With bright eyes, she turned to me. Her eyes now focused on mine. "Interesting explanation. Very intuitive. You paint?" I asked with genuine curiosity."Oh
    Raphael It's been two weeks and I still couldn’t get her out of my head. "Why don't you just call her?" Thomas asked. Annoyance layered his words. "Seriously bro. You've been mad distracted since the gala. Just call her." I pursed my lips. "What makes you think I'm distracted over a woman?" "C'mon, Bro. We've been friends since mud sacks." He responded, eyes never leaving the tv screen."Fair point." He wasn't lying. Our moms had been best friends for ages, so it was inevitable. I viewed Thomas like a brother."So why haven't you called?" "Why the sudden interest in my love life?" "Cause you’re attempting to have one... or you were."Attempting? "You talk allot of shit.""No. I talk the truth." We continued our game of COD.Between my obnoxious gloating, and Thomas shit talking, it still wasn’t enough to keep her out of my head. Ondina just wouldn't escape my thoughts. Thomas was right. It had been a while since I've dated and I had hopes for Ondina and I, but after the look of
    OndinaClosing time came around, and Ondina was left alone to lock up. She cleaned all the tables, and sterilized the soda machines. After she was done, she sat back in one of the booths and relaxed. She looked down at both notes she had gotten that day. She re-read the note from table blue.‘Enjoy tryin to figure out how to pay for this shit food you dirty border hopper.' Anger rose inside of Ondina again. She was no stranger to racism, with being one out of a very small few familys that were hispanic growing up she would often get side glances or the occasional whispers whenever she walked into a room that was pro dominantly white, but it still bothered her whenever she got the hate directly. Ondina sat up and made her way for the door stuffing the hateful note back into her apron, then pulled her phone out. She shot a text to Camie. 'Omw'She stuffed her phone back into her apron and pushed the door open. It was past twelve o'clock, and the wind blew chills up her back. She lock
    Ondina Ondina had never been so comfortable in her life. Yes having two cups of wine added to it, but all she could think about was his hands on her. She had never gotten a massage before. Camille had always offered to treat her to one, but she had always refused. If I knew it would feel this good I would have gotten it sooner.She allowed herself to set aside her worries and fears. She focused on the rhythm of his hands. How they applied pressure but were also gentle as if she was mad of glass and could break at any moment. She lost herself in the heat of his hands and the way he slowly eased his way up her legs. She moaned at the pleasure. She hadn't realized how much her feet and legs hurt until he started to take the pain away. She could feel both his hands on her thighs now. Slowly massaging inwards. Another moan escaped her lips at the soft pressure she felt between her legs. She imagined him gently caressing her pussy and she immediately moistened.A pang of fear cooled her be
    OndinaIt was dusk by the time Ondina woke. Realizing she wasn't at home, she sat up immediately. Noticing Raphael sound asleep a foot away from her, she froze. Memories of last night came flooding in. Ondina hands shot up to her mouth as a smile broke across her face. She had experienced an orgasm for the first time and the fact that he was the cause of it made her want to call Camille. She peeked back over at him. He was resting with his head back and arms folded. Ondina grabbed the blanket he had draped over her the night before, and covered him with it. Being so close to him, the urge to touch his lips pulled at her chest. She gently ran a finger over his beard, and paused once she got close to his mouth. She gently ran her index finger across his lips causing them to twitch. She studied his face to see if there were any signs of him waking up. After staring for a good sixty seconds, Ondina decided he wouldn't. Leaning forward, Ondina gently placed her lips onto his. Your lips..
    OndinaOndina was exhausted. She had worked a double, so that meant she had to close again. She locked up the diner and headed towards home. Luckily for her, she didn't live but a few blocks away. She pulled her phone out of her apron. Great. It's 12:16am. The walk back felt like she was walking a marathon. She had been on her feet from open to close, and her legs were on fire. She feared she wouldn't be able to make it back home. Once she reached her block, her legs seemed to become weaker. Why is it that that happens? She dragged herself to the opening of her apartment building and collapsed in a lobby chair. Why did we have to choose the fifth floor? The elevator had been down for a week now, and she dreaded the climb she was about to have to make. Ondina rested until her legs stopped tingling. Okay girl just five flights of stairs. She made her way up to the fifth floor. Once inside the door, she collapsed once again, onto the couch. "Oh! How I've missed you sweet, sweet couch.
    RaphaelWork was hectic and made the day longer. I've spent the entire morning trying to reason with Mrs. Macklin, and let's just say it's like pulling teeth. The rest of the day, I've been reading and signing documents, conference calls, and working with the financial team to update budgets. Through all of that, my mind constantly stayed on Ondina. I missed her. Well hell. There's no fighting it. I leaned back in my office chair and pulled out my phone. 1:37 am. She might be sleeping. Fuck it. I'll text her anyway. I got up and walked over to the sofa I had in my office in case I pulled an all-nighter and opened my messages and sent her a text.'Are you sleeping?' Almost immediately, my phone chimed.'No.''Can't sleep?''Got home late.''You worked the entire day?''Unfortunately, yes. Had to do a double.'I paused. It bothered me that she's been working so much, and having her close, anything could happen to her. Memories of that night at the club flooded my head. Anger boiled up
    RaphaelI was readying myself to knock when the door opened. Ondina had a look in her eyes I couldn't quite point out. She was going to work again, that pissed me off. She was over worked, and underappreciated. I wanted to put her in my car, take her home, and take care of her so she would never have to work again. Get a grip guy.Awkwardly, I said "Hey." Ondina remained silent."You heading to work?" ‘Well no shit.’As if being pulled back into herself, she responded. "Uh. Yeah. I was heading in early to speak with my boss." "Okay, good. I need to speak with your boss, too."Before she could respond, I grabbed hold of her hand, and guided her down the stairs. Once we reached the lobby, she jerked her hand away from mine."Wait! Why did you come here?" A confused yet curious look danced across her face. Right! Dumb ass you're just gonna run off with her?"I was coming to see if you wanted to have lunch with me. But giving your work uniform, I figured that would be a no.""I would ha
    Five years later...I woke up to the ringing of an alarm clock. Like always, it was Ondina's. She had a million of them set for every ten minutes. What for? I had no idea, but today, it wasn't just an annoyance. It was a painful reminder of the chaos that was about to erupt. Fire year old twins were a force of nature. The ringing of the alarm grew louder. I groaned, reaching for the snooze button, but a gentle hand stopped me. "Don't even think about it," Ondina murmured, her voice laced with a sleepy smile. "The monsters will be here any minute."I still couldn't believe I was married to a woman so beautiful. Her dark hair was a tangled mess against the silk pillow and her eyes were still heavy with sleep, but the warmth radiating from her was undeniable. She was, indeed, my everything, and now, carrying our third child, she possessed a radiant glow that made my heart ache with a love so strong it sometimes felt like a physical weight."Monsters?" I teased, pulling her closer. "I
She swung her hips a little too hard and she smelled of expensive perfume."Raphy, darling," she purred, the word sounding like a hiss on her tongue. "So good of you to see me.""Celeste," I replied.I was already annoyed and just wanted together this over with. "I wasn't aware I had a choice. Your unannounced visit last night hardly left me one."She ignored the chairs and sat her ass on the edge of my desk. Her crimson lips curved into a practiced pout. "Oh, don't be like that, Raphy. I just wanted to see you. To catch up."My jaw tightened. "Catch up? By crashing into my home, heavily intoxicated, and physically assaulting my wife?"Her perfectly practiced pout faltered and was replaced by a flicker of annoyance. "Ondina was being dramatic. It was merely a little… disagreement with her.""A disagreement that involved you grabbing her hair and screaming about how she stole your life?" "He
She lunged herself forward, trying to wrap her arms around my waist but I stiff armed her in the forehead."Celeste," I whispered."How did you find our- that doesn't matter." Trying to keep my voice calm I stated."You need to leave.""Leave?" she shrieked, Loud enough for the entire house to hear her. "Leave? After everything? After you promised me forever? You were supposed to be mine, Raphy!"Ondina appeared behind me, her face a mask of confusion and then, registration."How the fuck did you get here?" Ondina positioned herself between me and Celeste."Ondina!" Celeste shrieked again, pointing a wobbly finger in her face. "You! How does it feel living MY life?! I was supposed to be Mrs. Lahsen! I was supposed to live in this house! I was supposed to-" before she could continue, Ondina pushed her in the chest."Back up or I'll call the police!"     MasonBreathing was becoming a task for me. Every breath hitched a ragged protest against the pain that I was feeling every day, but today... today was different. The air hung heavier. It was like I could feel my time running out. I knew. Today was the end, and Ondina words clung to my heart. "You're gonna die here, and no one will miss you." A sigh escaped my lips. I could tase the blood in my lungs. My vision was patchy and it burned to keep my eyes open. They had gotten used to the dark after months of being in it, but now, they were struggling against the glow of that one single bulb I hadn't know was there. Ondina forgot to turn it off and this was a new kind of torture.I was left here, visibly able to see just how far gone I was. In the dark, I couldn't see much detail of myself, but now, I could see everything. I was far from the man I used to be, and I had no one to blame but myself. Regret was a useless emotion now. A luxury I could no longer afford, but it was there and
She could remember his cruel laughters as he had enjoyed her suffering and how he mocked her as she cried. The memory that paralyzed her the most was his haunting groans of Camilles name as he repeated it over and over again while he used her body for his own gratification. She remembered the agonizing pain of premature labor and the fear for her unborn children as the darkness swallowed her whole. She remembered every single detail.He had taken everything from he
She felt desperate to know who was in that cabin, and why Raphael was so desperate to keep it secret that he would lie to her.Ondina knew Raphael wasn't always forthcoming, but this felt different. It felt deliberate, and it made her feel uncomfortable. Her gaze drifted to the two sleeping infants in their bassinets. Cameron looked so much like his father, and Camille was a miniature version of herself. They were the reason she needed to know. Their fragile, innocent lives deserved a foundation built on truth, not secrets.Taking a deep breath, Ondina reached for her phone. She scrolled through her contacts until she found Raphael's mother's number. She played out in her head what she wanted to ask, but had no idea how she should go about it.
