CHAPTER FIFTY THREE

BEVERLY

"And this looks nice to you?" I shouted at the berger seated in front of my compound.

He tried to touch me, but I pushed him away.

"Don't you dare touch me!" I warned him.

"Ma'am," he knelt in front of me. "Please help me with something to feed with."

I hissed and walked into my compound. He tried to follow me but I banged the door at his face.

"Fool!" I cursed.

I walked into my house and sank into my couch. I placed my left foot on my knee and began to squeeze it gently.

I had walked all the way to the pharmacy to get drugs for my headache, but I wasn't able to get anything.

I didn't even get to the pharmacy before changing my mind.

I walked back home with the hope of just sleeping and forgetting that I had a headache.

Everything annoyed me. I wasn't even sure if I was okay or not.

I stood up and walked into my kitchen. Maybe if I ate something, I'd feel better.

My phone began to ring, and I picked it up quickly. I placed my phone beside my ear.
