CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

SALLY

I was stunned at the ridiculous suggestion. How can? I stared from one person to another, and they all looked away from me. It seemed like they have all made up their minds. Well, that was none of my business, though.

"I can't step down for someone else to take my place, I'm sorry," I said without blinking an eye.

Two oldest shareholders began to laugh, while the rest murmured among themselves.

"This is my father's company, and I am still the highest shareholder here."

They all exchanged glances, and the murmuring increased. It seemed like something was going on underground that I didn't know about.

"Here," Mrs Amelia passed a document to me.

"You are no longer the highest shareholder. This person's share supercedes yours with three per cent."

I banged the table, and she lifted her hands, indicating that she wasn't done talking, yet. I stayed mute, allowing her to finish.
